  • Paul prefers a "throbbing" tremolo (snare drum to cymbal)

  • One too many spliffs ??

  • I am addicted to this amp and i dont even have it yet

  • Ah 65 amps'..London 65 amp.....Ahm....

  • You guys are so funny !

  • I want this amp in spite of this video. If I was Paul, I'd remove this video just so people wouldn't be driving busses all over me for my commentary.

  • this guy manages to make every great amp sound like shit.

  • I so agree with you.

  • @theMANdrew ... :) I don't think it's amp. Vhole record lacks mids and highs ...

  • @theMANdrew Hahaha, I've been thinking that for sooo long. Listen to :16 to :17: Are you serious? That's the kind of shit I played when I was 13.

  • @theMANdrew No kidding. Came here a long time ago after seeing Pete Stroud's EHX demos with a 65, and it sounded INCREDIBLE. Seems like GuitarWorld just can't mic an amp to save their life, though.

  • Hey Paul, what exactly do you do at Guitarworld? How come you don't know that Peter Stroud is co-founder of 65 AMPS???

    Do some research!

  • Nice and powerful british-style amps.

  • Thats an incredible sounding amp!!

  • Any one who uses this amp

are there any problems with it not being loud enough in bigger venues?

  • The amp sounds cool to me. I have tons of 20 watt tube amps and really like them. I want the output tubes to be pushed.

  • sound quality sucks - 65's sound much better in person...

  • my approach has always involved finding an amp with GOOD CLEANS!!!! i mean clear cleans!!!! then using my favorite pedals for overdrive....this seems to be the most versatile approach for me...

  • i wouldve peed my pants if the neck broke when he was bending it

  • good if you like rock but not nearly heavy enough for me

  • Think about it....everybody buys vintage heads sends them out...pays astronomical mod prices to get what???????you guessed it MORE GAIN

  • because no one wants blues, classic rock, or any other lesser distorted tones and everyone plays metal

    oh wait... no

  • i find metal amps useless

i play metal and i use a fender fucking twin

i just use a shitload of pedals and it gets the job done

  • Yeah I agree. Just get like a fender for the volume and like a POD for tone and your good.

  • and also costs way more

  • Nice amp but yes VERY pricey I'll take a Splawn and some greenbacks anyday.

  • what is a splawn? are they some boutique company? clone models?

  • splawn is originated as a mod company Jason(i think) Splawn did mods to people such as van halen and more of the liking

its how van halen got his "brown sound"

splawn makes now their own amps but i still believe any modded by splawn jcm800 sounds better

but their splawn overdrive is nice

  • Great amp and cool guitar playing Paul.

  • Great modern take on cool vintage tones. This one is a keeper. I prefer plexis but @18 watts - sigh me up!

  • Thats an awesome song lol anyone know wat it is?

  • dude 18 watts? why?

  • Because 18 is all you really need.

  • damn straight 18 is all you really need, decibels dictate volume, NOT wattage

my 60 watt all tube amp is more face melting than my buddy's 300 watt solid state amp

  • what's he playing at 02:40???

  • The thing about this amp ... Handwired! Means quality in most cases and modifying would be easy (easier)! Sounds great! I love the 18 watts the most. You can hear that great tube OD at bedroom levels!

PRICE is ungodly though ... so he can keep it.

  • 18 is way above bedroom volumes without an attenuator. My epi valve jr. (5 watts) when it gets distorted (without the help of pedals, just with its single volume knob control) is loud enough to get complaints. 18 tube watts are going to be *loud*, and I didn't even spot a master volume on that thing.

  • This tone is impressive, and though it is much different than a rectifier I agree that rectifiers are fizzy, and buzzy and do hide mistakes. My Diezel has more gain than any rectifier I have ever seen, and it sounds 100x more clear while doing so.

  • Would have liked a bit higher tone setting. Sounds like it has a blanket over the cab.

  • nice controlled feedback,,,the amp is impressive

  • guys your all right. imagine if hendrix or page came along and plugged into a vintage amp OR a rectifier, tha amp is only as good as the player

  • You are all gay. The only thing that rules is a fuzz pedal lined into your mothers ass!

  • U are a bit gay

  • I hate rectifiers, its for those who like to hide thier mistakes!

  • no, it's for those who know what's good!

  • NICE!

  • i want that ampli

  • Mesa Rectifiers are gay...how much more gain can you want?

  • Enough gain to eat vintage gay amps..

  • Just play a rectifier, you will see!

  • Nice tone.. no treble, bass, mid and presence knobs?

65amp should do some hi-gain monster ala' Rectifier at 18 watts!!

  • pretty cool...
