  • This is a bit over the top, as long as you keep pets away from where you dialyse and don't walk about twirling your open tube around the house you should be fine. I did PD for 2 1/2 years and never got an infection. I did not follow all these procedures. Use your common sense people. The most common way to get an infection is by touching the end of your connection.

  • Excellent video. It shows that you can do PD, remain free of infections and peritonitis, and still keep all your pets. I am a PD patient with 3 dogs and 3 cats. I did not give up a single pet when I started PD. I have never had peritonitis. And I highly second the recommendation for the Patients Pride PD bands. That is what I've used and they have really been terrific. I am in no way affiliated with the company or Ms. Shaw and am just recommending them as a patient.
