Car didn't get lost in bike lane. Car was sick of waiting for truck which was blocking the box and decided to drive on the bike lane to get ahead. The problem here isn't the bike lane... it's impatient drivers. You solve this problem by enforcement and physical barriers to bike lanes. They both deserve tickets for what they did.

the lane is idiotic. drivers think that these vehicles are waiting in traffic. these bike lanes are causing blind spots for drivers and pedestrians. and they are causing more congestion

Actually, the drivers are idiotic and not paying enough attention. Blind spots? Not much more than before. Blind spots should mean SLOW DOWN thus making the street safer. A small increase in congestion is a worthy sacrifice for increased safety of the many cyclists who use the lane, especially as i gets warmer.

First its not a small increase in traffic. i live and work there everyday. I can count on 1 hand how many people have used this idotic lane since it was made. And i still see cyclists still driving thru vehicular traffic. they should be summonsed! since they have to legally abide by the NYS traffic regs just like motorists!!
