Shepard is right. The government option isn't a government takeover of health care, it's only an option. The problem is that those on the right don't know how to defend their position.

The bill as is will put expensive mandates on private insurance which will drive up rates. Then they will make businesses pay a relatively small fee if they don't provide insurance. Companies for competitive reasons will drop private insurance, which will result in a government takeover. It's just that simple.
