Interesting bit of history of this recording/performance: Chloe/Celtic Woman is performing "Nella Fantasia" ("In My Fantasy"), which is Sarah Brightman's lyrics added to"Gabriel's Oboe" by Ennio Morricone (part of the soundtrack to the movie "The Mission.") The irony is the fact that one-time Celtic Woman Hayley Westenra added her own lyrics to the same song -- at Morricon's request (?) -- thus creating the song titled "Whispers In A Dream," which was featured on her album "Paradiso."
The great thing about "Nella Fantasia" is that although it is simple, it is the way of executing it that makes it seem more than not-so-jumpy intervals and elongated notes. Chloe's pure voice with clear articulation makes the piece atmospheric and is very nicely complemented by David's smooth sound. Combined with the orchestra's fluid dynamic and intonation, these harmonic wonders make the piece not just a show of noise but an observation of living music.
I agree... credit to the great Ennio Morricone and credit to the sweet great Chloe for giving life to the spirit living inside this marvel coming from the sky. Here in Italy no one more can raise my soul, no one more knows what is the spirit of music and poetry ... for this thank you all when giving me such a gift. The ones who love music and poetry well know Morricone and with no screaming voices they whisper his music for us.
Well, this is like not mentioning the Director when you put up a video clip -- when they advertise a movie. They name the performers/actors but rarely the authors, composers nor directors. Then again there are 100s of version of Gabriel's Oboe/Nella Fantasia on youTube, many of which credit Ennio Morricone. To know which performance is which you need to list the performers. That said, it would be nice to have the composer listed anyway.
BTW, the oboist is the singer's father not brother.
Why is Ennio Morricone not mentioned in this credit ?????? I mean this music is a result of the man who created it - or to put it as plainly as possible - it could not 'exist' without his grace, not the people who re-invent it or perform it. Please
give the artist ENNIO MORRICONE credit for his work.
@rose444100 His name needs to be mentioned here firstly alongside his work. Otherwise it seems to begrudgery and plagiarism. Standard and proper order.
@TheMagiAlexander Nothing I can do about that. But whoever has the rights of his work either him or someone else don't seem to have a problem with it cause they would have changed it if they had gotten a call or something.
@rose444100 I'm not speaking about copyright or infringement. I am speaking about giving credit where it is due. In this case giving credit to the composer who wrote this piece of music. Amen Ennio Morricone
@TheMagiAlexander.....Well if you want to get technical...Ennio Morricone didn't write this piece of music. Now before you get all bent out of shape Let me explain.....Ennio Morricone wrote a piece called "Gabriel's Oboe" for the movie "The Mission" in 1986. It was an instrumental piece....In 1995 Sarah Brightman wrote to Ennio to give her permission to add lyrics...he flatly refused...She kept writting him and finally he relented... Chiara Ferraù wote the lyrics and Nella Fantasia was born.

@gaeilge101 Well done, you have taken ego to a new ditzy height.
Nella Fantasia was never "born" or "concieved" or otherwise.
Let us be clear; A typical vocal line was transcribed over the composer's oboe parts note for note. Every nuance of this track we know as "Nella Fantasia" was pened by an original artist Ennio Morricone. You seem to be of a delusional nature that "he did not write" his own music ?
What bookkeeper57 was saying is that Ennio Morricone wrote the music, but did not write the lyrics. Both Sarah Brightman and Celtic Woman got permission to use his music. If Celtic Woman had not gotten permission, the song would not be on the CD/DVD.
I listen to this track regularly, and never ever tire of it , her voice is so sweet and pure, and her brothers Oboe playing is just delightful, Love the works of Ennio Morriconi the soundtrack of the film "The Mission" is an outstanding example of his creative genius, The Music is Latin American inspired, words in Italian added later would have loved to hear this in English , but that may take some of the magic out of the performance.
Chloe Agnew has the voice of an angel.. She sings the best out of my opinion.. Also verty beautiful. Thank you for singing this song.. if not.. this would have not,I would have never found anything so beautiful.
A good song is always appealing in whatever format it transformed into. Thank you Ennio Morricone for putting up with so many versions after the movie "The Mission"
Not a slam, honestly. Just another perspective. I view that as contol. A lot of people don't have that and when they lose control and "open up" the show is over. But - perhaps she does have for us. It still touches the soul, doesn't it?
it's pure and soothing. I wonder how often she practices but it almost seems natural to her. hard to find a bad song with this girl singing. her voice seems to bring something magical.
I love this performance! I've been listening to Celtic Woman for about 3 or 4 yrs now. I never get tired of listening to them over and over again, lol. I can't wait until they come out with a new album.... If they do.
I know of 3 main concert's.They are super popular so I'm sure they will come up with another new main concert.I too have been listening to them for that long.I also love to keep hearing their song's.They never get old. ^-^

You really think anyone would come to a concert or give a chance of fame to some people called the jamaican woman? Korean woman? haha. you need to live outside your little unmusical box. There are thousand of more people talented than these fools.

I'm confused a bit. Is this the original version of the ost, Gabriel's oboe, in the movie, Mission? I never knew it had this intro with song, someone tell me please.
Yes, this song is from the movie Mission. The original song doesn't have any lyrics, until later with Sarah Brightman (that's the version you heard on Mission). Personally, I love how Chloe sang this song, very clear & crisp. People who post negative comments need to consider her age & experience compared to Sarah. With that being said, Chloe did a fantastic job with this piece...clear & crisp...and mostly, very angelic.
I woke up this morning when my sister played this song and I thought I was in heaven.
