@brian8793 Please rephrase your words. Addiction? Are you addicted to the opposite sex? You can joke about it and say yes, or you can be honest and say you feel hardwired to it.
I've grown up mormon. I know sort of what your mindset is, just from what you've said. Know that "spirit" you feel? It's a psychological reaction to heavy positive/repetitive emotional stimuli. That's it. You can get that feeling from anything that meets that circumstance.
it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me whosoever who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
You are one of those guys that makes me wish I was NOT a female and instead a man that is gay. Sometimes I think I am a gay man stuck inside a females body. I want gay guys. I love Oscar Wilde and I am deathly attracted to you, Clark.
Well, let's hope your prophet has a revelation soon and throws that disgusting outdated technique in the trash. I also hear you guys do a good job of demonizing gays as non contributing citizens who are incapable of creating a loving home for children. :)
Why would a gay man want to be Mormon at all? Why give energy to a dark group of hateful controlling horrible people? Why be Christian at all? Don't you realize the hate that organized Christianity creates? Gay Christians are just like being a Jewish Nazi. Ridiculous.
Time you spoke. The Mormon Church funded Prop 8. I demonstrated in front of one of them in L.A. and hung stuff on their fence. I called them colorful but legally acceptable names. They will be sorry the next time they need anything from gays.
In addition I continually read and reread all the standard works, including at least a dozen complete readings of the Book of Mormon. You may still not choose to see me as a credible "Mormon"; I just wanted to make sure you had all the information so you could make your own decision regarding that!
What makes this guy mormon.. well let me answer that. I was born into the covenant, I was baptized when I was 8. I was the deacons, teachers, and priests quorum president. I paid a full tithe and held a temple recommend from the age of 12. I served a full time mission and held nearly every leadership position available to missionaries. Though i knew I was gay, I remained celibate for nearly a decade years post mission and attended church every week of my life until about a year ago.
So what exactly makes this guy "Mormon"? We get that he's obviously gay, but does he attend church regularly? Hold callings? Read scriptures? Attend the temple? This guy likes to hear himself talk. Just because at one time he was active in the Mormon church doesnt mean he's a valid voice of reason. Some gay Mormons profess to be LDS and arent a part of the Church at all. Being a member and being an ACTIVE member are very different. Clark seems nice. I just question his credibility.
what utter nonsense. it's all about "actively' checking off the boxes for u isn't it? maybe u should try turning to the basic tenents of ur faith...faith, hope, charity, love before u start thinking u are on ur wy to heavn. let the kid find peace and happiness w/n a culture he was raised...instead u want to throw him out, better yet, why don't u bring hm in and torture him until he chgs. that would allow smug and self righteous holymen like u to avoid anyone not exactly of ur same mold.
He is obviously taking time away from his personal life, for anyone who is confused about religion and life.Sex is a part of life. and definetely not worth death. since all people we know deserve life over death
hey Im fran and im 16 I feel as i dont get life at times I get many name calling at times but mostly behind my back I loved the wrong person and I made a horriable mistake how can ytou think God can help me??
He served in Culiacan Mexico -- we weren't ever companions but worked together often -- he was a zone leader and an awesome missionary. Everyone loved Elder Johnsen - he was great.
You know, you're a little too obsessed about this for this to be healthy. I mean, what is it that you hope to accomplish, other than feeling good about yourself that you stood up for your church? There's nothing else you'll achieve other than self-satisfaction, and yet true Christianity is supposed to be about everyone BUT yourself. Interesting contradiction, but then again, as long as you feel your salvation is secure, what else matters, right?
while I respect my gay friends from an academic and intellectual standpoint. The problem I have and the point I make out to them and they say that they are working on changing it.
the problem is that the Gay Pride Parades have turned into hedonism and hate. At times I find no difference between them and the Westboro Baptist Church.
Just as in everyone else, Gay Pride Parades don't represent ALL gays. Quite frankly, there are aspects of stereotypical gay culture that I find quite repulsive & don't feel I identify with. Nor do I feel I have a voice when it comes to certain outlets that claim to represent me. Gay people are as diverse as every other category of people.
This is super! It's great to have a positive voice here on You Tube! I know there is an afterlife--I went there in a near death experience! Check out my channel. Looking forward to more from you!
I'd be interested to see if you will, since you don't seem to allow my video response to remain linked to your page, if you'll allow this comment box to remain stating that I've responded to this video with several videos.
I think it's dangerous for you to try and project what is and isn't 'Christ-like.' Also dangerous to set up your perception of what outcomes or situations would flow from what--if your set of hypotheticals really framed a situation.
Yay, I'm the first one to post about your new video blog. I hope there are many more to come. I'm sorry to hear about your mother's comments. Given how my mom's been gone since Feb. 2004, I know how important mothers are, but there's no excuse for her behavior. Dark countenance? And what countenance did the family have while it talked ill of you? Isn't that supposed to be a sign of contention? The Savior would never want anyone to prove their devotion to him by doing something un-Christlike.
One thing that helps me with my struggle: I believe that if Christ were to switch places with us & were to live our lives as imperfect mortals, w/out any proof of a God except for what's written, the testimony of others & a feeling in the bosom, he'd have probably the same decisions/mistakes that we've made. We're not trying to justify that which we know is wrong but to live life in a way that fulfills our potential to be happy. If he's all knowing, he knows that. Seems we're in good company.
