This was the start of a scene that you will NEVER understand.... It was a catalyst for many genres of music that you are listening to today but dont even know it.
Have some respect for producers who were brave enough to put out tunes that felt right at the time and paved the way for many more genres to come.....
"The next record is lined up in the right spot, ready to go, and the deep beats and high sounds of a stone-cold classic drop. Collective muscle-memory from a thousand previous dances kicks in and we scream in delight - we know every beat, every bleep, every boom. When those swooping, chiming, chords rush in we are lifted as one. We go with it, letting the richness and warmth of the music dictate our tone, drawing the hugs out of us, revelling in the early morning sun. Up up up. Feel the love."

In the cupboard under my stairs there is some kind of event. Like a whirlwind, or a whirlpool. It is terrifying. My 8 year old got too close and disappeared for 3 hours. When he came back his eyes were swollen and he kept saying "devil, devil". I seem to be growing a second pair of genitals. Its like the house wont let me out.
@WolfgangVonPoserkila You're right, my friend. I love Madonna and Michael Jackson (although electronic music is the love of my life).
@bostonsurfboard To answer your question, I think it has to do with what people consider "mainstream". I think that there is a negative stereotype in popular culture about any music even slightly resembling electronic music - they think it's rave music, and are quick to associate it with drugs or glowsticks. That's my opinion !

@gordongate seriously, man. you gotta stop living in the past. there are lots of good stuff to listen to nowadays. you just have to know how to find them. damn, i hate Nostalgia Filter.
@DuduKrazy I still listen to new releases i still scan music shops I hear one tune every 6 months that has enough attention to detail in the quality of its content / production for me to want it but i prefer DnB these days as there is still some honest pride in it, I get most of my tunes off sound cloud or the IDM forum as people on there are hungry enough to make a good track rather than a cheap tune. nostalgia is due to experience i've heard a lot of tunes since 1989 so i've more to compare
@DuduKrazy Im 18 yo im from belgium and now everything about music i know there are good very good new tracks but the feeling of 90' house acidhouse and trance is just amazing i love the
fantastci, my fav song of all time! takes me back to a great time, loved dancing for hours and hours on end, loved all the music...why oh why has it all turned to shit?
@manolito1983afc I'll second that, along with Northern Soul all nighters. What a wonderful time i had in the ten years from 1984 to 94 when i (prematurely) decided to end it all and settle down.
i remember this tune playing in my walkman as me and mates zip down the uni on our skateboard board 4 wheel slidin and ollieing a whole car park's length grindin over this board slidin around that. it was freedom personified. it'll never come again and i'm glad we all lived for the moment and we all had each other to draw energy from and we all skated like pros. nobody could catch us then, nobody.
I'm 16 and I saw Orbital live at Guilfest, while all the youths were down at the rave tent watching Sub Focus, I stayed and listened to some classic songs!
I was always indie-pop kid, from early 80s on. First time i heard this tune I knew there was something I'd been missing out on. Brilliant band, specially in Cork in 95, came on after Stone Roses. What a one-after-the-other!
i bloody love orbital, never gets old! Saw them recently at guilfest and they were bloddy amazingg! Recommend you see them live there awsome. And more people should know about this song :O!
this takes me back to mates in cars and people following each other and getting lost together , hearing the music , knowing you've arrived, feeling the rush (if you haven't turned into face puller already ! ) and forgetting everything else in the world for hours except enjoying yourself, sometimes on your own and sometimes with others.......then freeze your nuts off after !
great times, great tunes, positive emotions to others
this came out just after i was born and my mom played it me to make me a happy baby. so now i listen to this and i'm baby being danced around with my mom :D
