  • This song gives me chills. It is truly simple and beautiful. It triggers a feeling of happiness and sadness in one, almost nauseating it is so potent. Much like a relationship or a drug. Maybe I'm overly theatrical in my appraisal of it, but I can't describe the way it makes me feel and that is why I believe it is a work of art. .... love mazzy star and their version of it too. It is ironic they would do a rendition of five string serenade because much of their music evokes a similar feeling.

  • Love it got to see one of his last live performances and was hooked in my life you live forever

  • never understood people before crying at the beauty of anything, but this almost does it.

  • This song is so beautiful, it chokes me up; even more so now that he's gone.

  • wow this brings things into prospective....i think we need more musians cover and putting there unique sound to it like how mazzy star played thissong!!!!----:-}------

  • I HAVE HUNDREDS OF ALBUMS OF ALL THE GREATS !!!! BEATLES ETC BUT ONLY MY LOVE ALBUMS ARE THE DONT SCRATCH OR BORROW RECORDS !!!!!! DOESNT THAT SAY IT ALL? LOVE ARE THE GREATEST !!!!!! THIS IS MY FAVOURITE ARTHUR LEE SOLO SINGLE !!!!!!

  • Can't think why I've never thanked you.

I've passed this link around and around. If there is any bloody justice in this life, Arthuly will be recognised as equal to Dylan, TheBeatles and Young etc.

Met Arthur a few times, (brum & London)and he signed my daughter's hankie - "Arthurly" - he said it saved time...

  • holy shit...i din't even know this exsisted...wow!!!

  • After hearing this song again, I have to say that It's just one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and I love the way he whistles along to the music. There are a handfull of songs that end that way and they are all great. John Lennon and Bryan Ferry for example. I'ts just a lovely addition to a song, if you can do it as well as these gentlemen.

  • Never heard this one before. I'm blown away ! It's Angelic ! Thanks for sharing this one.

  • this is my favourite song ever. does anyone know any other similar stuff from arhur lee's solo career?

  • There is a song by Arthur, which LOVE made on their debut (1966) named Signed D.C.. That is the standard issue release. But, Arthur made a remake of this song on one of his solo albums that is so hard to locate. The original DC sounds almost pathetic next to it.I think it's on Four Sail but good luck getting that one!

  • I think that version is the one on Out Here (1969) :)

  • Think you're right. Thanks for that.

  • four sail is on itunes

  • @kevmob77 The other "Signed D.C." can be found on 'Out Here' and 'Out There', both Love albums.

  • The work of Arthur Lee and love is absolutely timeless. In fact i think they were ahead of their time to the point that only in the last 10 years has their work been fully appreciated and understood

  • Way ahead of their time ! DeCapo, Revelation, runs too long for Youtube.

  • Arthur was just simply the greatest. His songs still bring chills to my spine even after listening to them for more than 40 years.

  • love it. just love it. thx for the post.

This is the original but so hard to find!! like love I guess...

  • why gotta be so harsh on Mazzy? They are very underrated.

  • daCaddyman. Underrated Mazzy Star may be, but nevertheless, next to Arthur Lee they are nothing! NOTHING.

  • Everybody has their opinions and own taste in music. Each of these bands brings something unique to the table, why can't people just appreciate that?

  • is 'seventeen' on youtube anywhere? i'd love to hear it.

  • I think there's nothing from this album; I could upload it next week when at home :)

  • cheers, that '17' is a great song.

  • it's up here

    cheers

  • Good post. I think this is something Arthur had been playing since the 60s

  • its a beautiful song though it reminds me allot of "As Tears Go Bye" by the stones

  • why disabled ratigs? why why why?

  • this is what they always ask me :)

I don't really make videos and the music is just a matter of taste.

    Wish you my best
