  • Half the time Jimi played live his guitar wasnt even in tune. But it probably sounded fine to him, due to the drugs maybe. He did have tremendous ability, but it didnt always show through. A lot of the time he just made noise and hit a lot of bad notes. So when people say he was the best... I dont agree. I mean he may have been experimenting with sounds or whatever, but his actual technical ability is probably overrated.

  • @truthhawk7 I agree with you! You're absolutly right! Hendrix was just a scout. But created a new way of playing the guitar. With a lot of distortion and fast riffs he created simple licks and new riffs. Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Brain May and even slash is inspired by him! I think Jimi died too early to learn more. And maybe if he didn't died he was now one of those old rockers who look like they are old and dusty, but still can play good.

  • the smile of the bass player is priceless.

  • wat a puff

  • magnificient

  • Joe is the best ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • he always appears to be one of the most polite and down to earth performers. reminds me of the working man guitarist in a way. His stuff is so eccentric and standout that just him alone fills stadiums. If there are people reading these posts that don't like him you should probably realize there are only a handful of people in the world who fill stadiums just from guitar alone, with no vocals. That is ridiculous talent

  • its a white js1000 ibanez only produced them for two years then stoped for some unexplained reason and now they only make pearl black ones if u want one they r hard to find and it will have to be preowned

  • I want that guitar! What is that pleeeeeeeeeeeease

  • @TheLordOfCoal

It is one of Joe's Custom Ibanez from his line there

  • @TheLordOfCoal i thinks its an Ibanez Js 1200,

  • noo!! pero que buen tema de satriani esta buenisimo!!

  • Joe's playing at Casino Rama on the 15'th of July 2011! up here in icy ole Canook land! That would be Canada anyone who thinks alaska is actually on our landmass..lol

  • guitarist juaraaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

  • this is incredibly fun to play!!!!

  • Only Satch can tell a story with his axe alone! Long Live the Legend!!!

  • After defeated by Hary, Voldemort started playing guitar

  • fuck the bitch

  • pikin his nose

  • its perfect yeahh

  • Have been listening to Joe since the mid 80s. His talent is insaine!

  • Joe has the sickest wah around... especially in this song.

  • COOL!

  • Satriani in the 1980's once played a shred riff so fast it burnt off his hair. Thats why he has none. True story.

  • @TheAwakenedHeretic But he had hair in the early 90s >.>

  • @TheAwakenedHeretic hahaha makes buckethead look like a little bitch

  • awesome

  • this guy will melt your face and set your head on fire! been listening to satch since the late 80's, he's a badass guitar god!

  • 3:08 - 3:37 is my favorite part, like what the fu#k did he just do, holy shit

  • soo much feel into every song, even when he adds the inprovisions in the middle of some songs makes me throb n thrash when i hear it!!

  • Dave Larue left foot twirlage

  • obviously best guitarist ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • obviosuly best guitarist ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • drinkin' music : )

  • Joe with the up-edy blues and a little funk!!! The guy does it all!!! He harmonized and refined what Hendrix did, and taught the big names how to play as well. With all the songs that hes has created and redone, and stars that he has taught, Joe is our modern day guitar master. His face really does belong on that guitar!

  • Joe... The Master of guitar!

  • in 20 years when i will have children who'll be listening to pop music, i'll be playing this in the living room on my cd player. they will be perplexed as to what drum machine and music generator had this much soul and skill. justin bieber and usher can only get worse. but this, my children, this is already an artifact.

a different scenario could be that pop music just dies out in general, that shit isnt ever meant to last longer than half a year anyway. long live satch :>

  • Joe, you MUSIC GENIOUS, you. Serious fan of yours since the early 80s (yes, I'm 54, too). My grandkids will never understand...20-30 years from now, when I'm still knittin' the 'ol socks, cookin' the lasagne, and rockin' and dancin' out in the 'ol kitchen....CD's will probably be non-existent, but I'll keep my CD player just so you'll be IN MY LIFE FOREVER. Enough said. In the meantime, I will try to stay young, like you will always be, in my heart. PARTY ON!

  • well put deebo!

no one says it better wavular!

  • well put deebo!

  • What a cool mother f&*ker 1:55, awesome sound!

  • I've seen the same amount of dislikes over half a year ago

    lol

  • I'm not even a huge fan. But Joe Satriani is a fantastic guitar player.

  • @Skillbinator Listen to more of his stuff, and you will be. Lol I grew up listening to him and he's great. The best there is in my opinion.

  • im surprised to see 15 dislikes on this video.... how can u not like satriani's music? ive' seen this vid like 60 times already and i still enjoy his music.....

  • im surprised to see 15 dislikes on this video.... how can u not like satriani's music?

  • @RonnieKingsford Like I said, a lot of people are turned off by shredding. He shreds in every song he does.

  • @wasp2020 thank u really much for ALL those live shows of Joe !!! :D thank u really really much! =)

  • I love this riff so much haha!

  • C est beau... c est pur......c est juste merveilleux.....Quel talent pour nos oreilles !! ....Tout simplement génial ..........

  • @pepectm hahahaha LOL

  • the best !

  • My dick just flew into my ass.

  • who is the bass player? Matt Bissonette?

  • @damycityrocker the bass player is Dave LaRue

  • He was in Clearwater a couple days ago and I completely missed out...

  • hey joe.. u have to come to peru one more time ... ur awesome man! X)

  • i don't even listn to this kind of music but his 'freestyling' is absolutely SICK! I could make this a orchestral masterpiece!

  • @EpicPremonition It already is..

  • 15 people don´t know what good music is.

  • @Badger071 Oh hell yeah they don't

  • 2:48 fail

  • @200wrulezz the harmonic got out, regardless of how subtle it was. I don't see or hear a fail at all.

  • I'm surprised that Satriani's songs haven't gotten like a bizillion hits.

  • @coratican it did with god.

  • @coratican Probably because there are so many shit heads who rather listen to shit music rather than this.

  • wow..satriani he rock my world and he rule'z so hard..joe's guittar have he's own sounds..joe is nr ono in this world..

  • man, listen to those guitar sounds. the true successor to hendrix

  • @MyMelancholyDodo i agree 100%. on the movie "School of Rock" Jack Black says that one kid is the next Hendrix, and i'm thinkin like, "Um, Satriani already is the next Hendrix" lol

  • @DaveMustaineOwns hahah yeah defo dude!!! jack black eat your words lol

  • @MyMelancholyDodo Satch grew far beyond even the great Hendrix. Jimmi inspired him, but Id say Joe is somewhere totally else. You can't find single fault in his live performances

  • Go, Satch-Moe!!!!

  • troppo grande!!!!!

  • Aliens come to Earth, they say, "Hey we got plasma guns, spaceships" and we say "Hey mothafuckers we got Satriani. Check that out!" :) LOL

  • @Ghraladean THAT WAS GREAT COMMENT KEEP IT UP

  • @Ghraladean hahah yeah i like that dude!

  • @thulehunter ha... a bit

  • U cant find any better guitarist than him!!!!!

  • Sweet! Dude, his legato was amazing!!!!

  • 3:18 looks like bass player playing drums

  • @binopolis hahaha

  • why hasn't this guy been a guest on sesame street, yet?

  • Is a Master

  • Why would anyone in there right mind say anything bad about Joe?- 1-He is a guitar genius-(Taught steve vai,Kirk hammett,Jason becker) the list goes on-2-He is one of the nicest human beings on the planet-Talk about humble-3 he is an inspiration, not only to musicians ,but to people in general-Who can say anything down about this man-Unless you are mentally damaged and jealous-Ok i'll give you that-I ain't one of em' So..In conclusion-Got a problem with Joe-Read my writing here-GO FUCK YOURSELF.

  • @wavular not jason becker dude

  • @guitar1324 oops,ok- but i'm sure jason would give him props anyway lol

  • @wavular He also taught Skolnick :D

  • @yishto not to mention he played in deep purple!

  • @wavular Okay. Joe is my idol. I love him to death, but consider this. What if someone doesn't like speed shredding? I am a guitarist, and sometimes, shredding makes me want to gag. Its very easy to shred, and very hard to play with your soul. Infact, the only reason I absolutely adore him is because he has songs with a lot of emotion in them. He's good at shredding, but to be honest, it's not as impressive as something like "Always with you always with me". He put a lot of heart in that.

  • @ArkVel Always With Me Always With You it is --sorry-- and it is one of the best guitar songs ever written. Shredding is for the ones that have no emotion--and dare I say limited talent. On the 8th day God said let there be awesome guitar music and Joe appeared from the dust. So it was and always shall be:) By the way --yes I do play and have for the last 48 years. Great comment.

  • @700kotchi Everyone seems to forget that you actually CAN shred with emotion.. <_<

  • @wavular dont be vulgar please ...

  • @wavular true comment :)

  • @wavular You are right on the money man. Some people are just jealous jerks. I been to all his show. I met him 2 times once`s back stage at one of his show`s I had back stage passes and the other time I was in a resturaut in califonia and he was haveing lunch. He was so nice he talk to me for few minutes and I got some stuff autographed it was great.

  • being the world greatest guitar player ever, and having a nice personality, is something that most guitar players forget to have.

You should look Joe's interviews, he looks just like an ordinary person, not like a famous musician, he doesnt talk like famous people do ;)

  • Face meltage.

  • see my video playing the drum

    /watch?v=UOjLrGpVp0g

  • such a cool performance

  • one of my favorite solos of all time, when he slips into it at 3:09 fricken sick!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Another one of Joe Satriani's amazing musical masterpieces!

  • me chupas um huevo satriani

  • If I ever get on the Enterprise, with Capt Kirk, this song is going with me.

  • SATCH RULES!

  • @floridashorti In a league of his own. Faved it..........

  • how great would it be to be galen henson and play with theses guys!!!!!! look at their faces it tells the whole story!!!! they enjoy what they do!!!

  • hell yeah, great guy :) ekhm...vai...umh

  • I love it! Best Satch song ever! :)

  • so cooooooo00000000LLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!! nice joe!

  • I love this one! Nice and groovy.

  • small potatoes on that animal

  • wow , the drummers high hats are amazing

  • voldemort rules!!!!!!!!!!!

    no, joking

i'm playing the album version of this song, am now in the outro solo, but the liver version is way better i think!

and the face-guitar with tha sunglasses is also amazing!

  • @IAMJAZZHIMSELF live*

  • "Mommy...I want a guitar with my face on it too."

  • Awesome awesome.

  • btw terrific drum sound!

  • sounds much better then the studio version this does

  • @SRodgers145 yeah, typical Satriani for that matter

  • satch is the best of all

  • to be honest i hope joe is a millionaire coz he deserves it more than anyone for the music he creates for us all!!! satch your the best man and i love your music so much!!!

  • Can we all agree that Satriani has the absolute sickest wah on the planet?

  • @Hansen334 damn straight we can!

  • @Hansen334 YES INfrigginDEED we can!

  • @Hansen334 I've been able to get that same tone with my morley Bad Horsie 2 Wah, so it's just where you put it in terms of the sweep.

  • @Hansen334 I don't think he has the sickest wah on the planet. I just think he is looking for the best possible way to use the wah and he is a tone master. Don't know if it's a Morley or not but I think Morley has way better tone modulation then Dunlop. The again, Joe might use an original Dunlop in the future just to get the perfect sound out of a ten second sequence in one song. He does what works best and I don't know Whether he's The Extremist or the perfectionist.

  • @Hansen334 Yes!

  • @Hansen334 he uses the big bad wah right?

  • @Hansen334 the sickest wah on the planet stucked in ur ass and u cry like this: waahhhhh waaahh waahhh

  • @pretyls LMFAO HAHAHAHHAHA!!!!

  • @Hansen334 ..YES!!!

  • He's amazing! Good choice. So talented!

  • Joe is way better live than studio. thats why hes conserts are sold out. and its a real joy to se and hear Joe. its a massive musical trip.

  • @tokigifoten - I saw him in Manchester England in 2000 and it literally changed my life (musically at least). We were leant against the stage smack bang in the middle. I walked out of the Manchester Opollo a better guitar player.

  • @Hardysamnin apollo :) im going there in october to see him and im in the middle where you said you were, whats the sound quality like mate?

  • @skopex18 - The acoustics in there are first class. For sound, it's probably the best venue i've been to. When we went it was all seating, but the front 6 or 7 rows just got up and ran back to the stage. Once security realized they couldn't keep everyone in their seats, they just left us to it.

  • @Hardysamnin haha sweet!!! cant wait to see him 1st time aswell!! are you going? im thinking about getitn the vip passes but there 175quid lol.

  • @Hardysamnin - Don't have a job at the moment and i'm struggling a little so nah, i'm gonna give this one a miss. Sure to be a cracker though for sure. Good thing is, there's a pub around the back of it where you can get a pint and hang around the exit. He stood at his tour bus, made everyone form an orderly cue, then signed autographs and posed for pictures with anyone and everyone that wanted them. Really humble guy, Vai just jumped in his bus and fucked off.

  • @Hardysamnin awesome cant wait!!! to meet joe would be the best thing ever!!!! cheers dude!

  • @tokigifoten JOe is guitar!!! Theres simpy not enough words in english vocabulary to describe the "effect" his music has on your ears!

  • @tokigifoten

i think his concerts would be sold out anyway.

  • @tokigifoten Indeed, and I bet you failed english in HS XD

  • @tokigifoten same with paul gilbert and vai... they just dont play with the same emotion in studio

  • What a pointless argument you guys have brought up here.. Just shut up and enjoy this man's music. Joe is "the man".

  • @salamatysalamaty that wasnt even an argument, not to me, ayway. That was more of an intelligible discussion.

  • Oh my god, the intro sound.. incredible

  • me encanta

  • omfg Joe is such a badass.

  • to further add to my previous statement, Joe is so incredibly modest about his playing that if you had never seen him play, you'd mistake him for a 20 year old nimrod. He practically needs everything he can get, which isnt to say that he isnt successful, he's a millionaire i bet. However if he wants to maintain his career, financial status, and family, he needs to obtain as many logos of himself as possible. Joe recently stated in a photoshoot interview that he thrives off new images of himself.

  • Hes actually not making much money...

Hes not rich as people might think

  • oh really? hows joe doing financially, anyway?

  • Lets just say, hes doing well enough to keep moving in life...

He's a humble guy, not a sellout, he does what he does because he loves playing/writing music.... even though he doesnt earn much living his dream.
