If you look carefully, you see me in this video (after 40 seconds) in front of the Southeast Crater, which then was so small that you could look into its active vent from the slope of the central cone. The other vent producing the big explosions was the Voragine, which on that day was in a relatively modest activity compared to other days during the same period (summer 1998). It should be added that the Bocca Nuova was active as well
