  • Ariadiamus Late, ariadiamus Late.. Beautiful Song!

  • @LuftfahrtFan

Sorry, but that's definitely not a Lockheed L-1011 TriStar...

  • @fichtnerAA It was: you can almost see it through the distortion of the heated air from the engines of the 727. Only the tail is visible between 0:49 and 0:50.

  • @slopegeek Sorry, just thought that you mean the aircraft in the front... Of course it's a TriStar in the background

  • All 767-300's in the commercial with one exception (727)? interesting...great commercial btw!

  • @taurean7 No! Lockheed Tri-Star is in the Backround :D

  • when i flew to holland i flew with British scareways, NEVER AGAIN!!!

when i went to the states in 2006, i flew with Delta, and if i fly again, even to mainland europe from the UK, i will try and go with delta. I found their staff friendly and helpful, (unlike british airways).

as regards the advert, i think that was shown here in the UK as well

  • They should have never stopped using it....

  • it's awesome.. simply the best..

  • best commerial ever, love it

  • those delta 767's never get old.

  • My Dad was a pilot my Mom a flight attendant, I want to work for them eventually. I am addicted to these commercials!.

  • Probably the best commercial ever! Forget the Doritos super bowl commercial!

P.S. Doritos, I think ur chips are awesome!

    Thanks, Airlineguy29

  • @geauxmedia the group Adiemus, who is kind of like a techno-opera sort of music group

  • @Airlineguy29 no it's not you fool. This was written by Composer Karl Jenkins. This is one of the movements in a much larger score that he wrote for this advert. Not any techno-opera group lol

  • @ecjj21 haha i was just kidding i totally agree with you ecjj21

  • I was about 6 when I saw this commercial. I think 0:11 is the best scene followed by the landing 0:47. So many movies copied this scene.

  • What happened to the American version of this commercial??? Anyway, I remember this commercial ... it used to always captivate me when it came on ... from the dolphins to the aircraft to the beautiful music. "Adiemus" by Karl Jenkins is one amazing piece of music especially considering it's not even a real language.

  • that old livery was freaking sexy! :)

  • im singing this song!!! songs of sanctuary: adiemus!!!! and the commerical is in french!! ouais!

  • Most incredible airline commercial ever, though those dolphins are fairly unnecessary.

  • OMG!!!!! 100000X LIKEEE :))))

  • One of the most wonderful commercials ever made.

So you see it don't need long naked legs of foreign porn stars to make good advertisement!

  • yes you´re right. but there came a day, that changed everything

  • Well, I don't know French, but I totally LOVE this clip! Our teacher showed it today in our music lesson and I was so....WOW

    =D

  • LOL I was 12 when I saw this commercial on german TV in 1994! After this: everytime I see a plane flying under a blue sky at an altitude of 10k meters... I have to stop an watch it! amazing!

  • i can remember seeing this commercial when i was a kid. everytime i saw a plane this song came up to my mind...for years

    balle balle bu^^

  • Shot in Southern California. Clay Lacy flew the Lear photo plane. Directed by Hugh Hudson. Academy Award winner for Directing Chariots of Fire. Five days of flying from Mojave Airport for one minute commercial. British production.

  • DELTA AIR LINES

    "Vous allez adorer voyager"

  • I love this commercial because of the song "Adiemus" are my favorite! Delta Airlines RULES!!! (Although I don't know French well when this commercial aired in France)

  • the colors on the nose of the plane makes them look likes whales when there goin in the clouds

  • Hi everybody. Look at this link, you can find there the best airlines song of the world, it is hungarian, and wrote a hungarian genius :)

u can find it on my site

  • wow, i can remember that commercial from when i was a kid, loved the song.

  • I can just hear it in the cockpit now (at 0:20 and 0:38)

    "BANK ANGLE! BANK ANGLE!"

  • Can a commercial jet not safely bank at that angle?

  • it looks dangerous to me

  • yes

  • man, this advert is EPIC. it sorta gives the message "air is a way of life."

  • yeah! DELTA!

  • This advert inspired me to learn to fly and to work in the aerospace industry. I owe a hell of a lot to this advert...

  • theyre like.. speakin french!!!!

  • i miss the old delta and its MD-11s!!!!!!!!

  • I miss the old MD- 11´s with the Delta "Widget" Design , too ! Today the fromer Delta MD-11´s are now flying as freighters for UPS !

    Yours Martin

  • the Md-11 is cool!

  • I remember this ad... I was so young and I never flew this time... Now I can´t count how often I flew

  • Wow, memories. I worked as a Flight Attendant for Delta for a couple of years until 1999. I rememeber that music being on all of the planes as the boarding music.

  • Help! I'm addicted to this, I keep watching it over and over

  • @Jett203 not only you. When I watched this ad 94, I was 12 y old. Still addicted. Now I am a frequent flyer, love it. also, wenn the sun is shining, I have to look up and try to search for airplanes flying under a blue sky! I makes me happy. Dont know why

  • cant stop watching this!!!

  • aw man, delta's such a great airline. i feel so guilty about stealing the safety card. <:-(

genius idea to use adiemus as background music!

  • Flown from Mojave Airport in So. Calif. Lake Tahoe, Coming into Morro Bay, California. Stairs at end are Los Angeles. Directed by Hugh Hudson of Chariots of Fire fame. Lear camera plane flown by Clay Lacy.

  • Thanks for posting! I've been looking for this commercial for ages! I'm a fan of Miriam Stockley's music (the lead singer of Adiemus), and I know that this commercial was one of the main works that brought Miriam and Adiemus as a whole into the spotlight. The composer Karl Jenkins is a brilliant man.

  • does delta still fly in those colors ?

  • Sadly not anymore.

  • its very deep for a airline commercials i think. which is good. but the dolphins make it so tacky

  • the dolphins may seem weird but they're there because the airlines wants to show how synchronized they are...like dolphins!

  • i actually just looked at the music video for this song and it has the clouds and dolphins and i guess delta thought it would be fitting to keep the clouds (which they wanted anyway) but also the dolphins.

  • I think it's Adiemus by Enya....

  • It's actually Adiemus by Adiemus. It's available on "Adiemus V: Live" on iTunes. :D

  • oh, ok...hehe

  • The artist is Karl Jenkins who also composed the "Palladio" music from the "Diamonds are Forever" campaign.

  • I thought Miriam Stockley sang this piece. I can understand how people believe it's Enya singing when she isn't

  • The Enya thing comes from the scum-sucking lowlifes who download music illegally. Most songs on peer-to-peer services are attributed to the wrong artists, and the files keep getting spread around with the wrong artist in the name. It's just another sickening consequence of theft.

  • I agree with what you're saying in general....

...but be aware that "Adiemus" does indeed appear on one of Enya's compilation CDs (despite it not being performed by her), and she does have the legal right to market it as such, so that's probably how that association started.

  • Uh huh. Link the CD. Don't try to rationalize peoples' stupidity unless you have actual evidence.

  • Off the top of my head, it was for the Brazilian release of Eternal Knot, which saw a collaboration between Enya and Karl Jenkins for a minor remix of the titular song, for that release only.

  • I'll believe it when I see it.

    Until then, Occam's Razor.

  • once I learn french this year ill be able to under stand what theyre saying :)

The visuals in this are so strong, love it!

  • Well, I seem to recall that the lyrics are actually nonsense.

  • they are, its not really a language

  • Grin, that's probably a more charitable way of putting it...

  • Each week, 220 Delta Airlines planes fly from Europe to the United States. This requires a little synchronization...

  • The song is Adiemus by Karl Jenkins. It's funny because it seems to be in a lot of airline commercials and videos. I love the song, though

  • Hearing it again; the second part is more along the lines of "this demands some... synchronization". I'm pretty sure the phrase spoken is "ça le demande".

  • ca le demande or ca demande has the same meaning!Where the heck do you hear "giving the world a little synchronization"?

  • "CELA demande" and "ça demande" have the same meaning.

    ("ça" is more familiar)

  • Im ment Cela and sorry for the missing Cédille!Ma mere est corse, mais en allemagne on a pas de Cédille sur notre clavier.

    Viva Corsica!!!

  • Translation (as best I can):

Each week, 200 flights (something something) the united States. Giving(?) the world a little... Synchronization.

Delta Air Lines: You're going to love to travel!

  • Each Week, over 200 flights go from europe to the united states, and this makes a bit synchronization usefull!Delta Air Lines - You will love to travel

  • No, 4 years is not very old. I thought boeing stopt making the 767's a longer time ago, lol. But i like that an airline keeps flying these beutifull aircrafts!!

  • Boeing is still making 767. Eventually though, the 787 will be replacing them.

  • No, it's just the fact that they are getting older. Slowly they disappear from the fleets. Here in Holland we just got 4 767's and the'll get replaced for a newer type of aircraft... Maybe just Delta keeps there old aircrafts. I don't know;)

  • Delta has some 767's as 5-6 years old. That's not an old a/c if you ask me!!

  • oh man i love the 767...amazing work of art!!

  • Me too, sadly they're not flying that much 767 anymore... Most get replaced for the 787 or 777:(

Sorry for my bad english, I don't know how to say it in an other way.

  • I hope you're joking! Delta has well over 100 767s in its fleet right now (767-300, -300ER, and -400ER). That's a lot of flying! There are only *8* 777's, and no airline has any 787s at all! Would you like to recant that statement? :)

  • Best advert in the world, and by the way the language is of an island near fiji!

  • Best air line commercial ever.. and great music goes with it

  • yeah. this song is amazing..our choir is singing it for our next concert.

the lyrics arent in french like they said before..its all a made up langauge/words..its sweet.
