That was a real blast from the past, I worked as a milkman with Cuthbertson's Dairies in Vicarfield Street in the fifties. Good to see Peter Monoghan with his horse Smokey.
(the Wine Alley) My name is Alex Lennox, mothers name Nellie, I had an uncle Wullie Lennox from Kella St he was a ragand bone man, among other things.
I worked as a docker from 1960 to 1984 when I retired through ill heath. I now live in Lochwinnoch.
Old Govan is no more, and I am not just talking about the buildings, Govan was the People,
togglesblock I was brought up across the road from the wine ally in the high flats we weren't aloud across unless we were going to my aunti lizzies house, but I used to skip across to play in the midges there was always some one setting fire to the midges and a was a bit of a fire bug when a wiz a waen many a sore bum a got for coming hame smelling a smoke. My brother once gave the rag and bone man ma das good sheepskin jacket for a balloon aye and he got sore backside for that as well lol lol.
I was born in Burliegh St then moved to Shaw St ,I went to the Cosmo chippie in Govan Rd and the saturday matinee at the Lyceum to watch Flash Gordon and Old Mother Riley then watched the ships and tugs go up and down the Clyde. I've been away from Govan 35 years but have forgotten nothing , thank you Dutchi07 I thought the video was good enough but the soundtrack made it. Aw the best to all govanites.

Good to watch again and again.
This time I think I spotted Fairfield Street ( Born in SGH and lived at no 54 then 225 Langlands Road ), on RHS of Elderpark street @ 4:35 to 4: 39.
Govan High Centenary got off to a bang last monday with great afternoon in the school and dinner at City Chambers in the evening.
Sir Alex ferguson was brilliant, Heidie was brilliant and pupils were brilliant.
Videos to come if I could learn how to post them.
Best regards,
Tom
