  • ...It's supposed to be played on that octave. :/

  • Yeah twas good

    ~JohnRouge

  • hey Sakeyaki, u sound good, ps this is EvilGamerX ^_^

  • Thanks!

  • use the pedal....besides that it sounded good

  • Yeah, well, like Moontribe said, the pedal sounds really muddy if I hold it for most of the time. And thanks.

  • all you have to do is lift the pedal up for a split second every time the chord changes or per mesure. =)

  • Thanks! I'll also try that.

  • lol agreed shaolen

  • Haha. :P

  • hmmm the girl in this looks like the might be hot ; )

  • i think u did very well. i sure couldn't do that. Nice job

  • Thanks!

  • When you use sustain it only starts to sound muddy when your sustain too many long bass notes at once.

What normally works is when you change bass notes with your left hand quickly take your foot off the pedal and put it on again.

So you would strike the bass note lift up the pedal and press it down again.

However if there are say some very quick bass notes such as 4 1beat changes then you could sustain them all through and it would sound okay. Its a matter of playing it by ear.

  • ...Wait, bass notes are the notes below the middle C, right? I kinda forgot...and I feel stupid asking that.

I'll try that later this week. Thanks!

  • There is a version of the KMBG sheet music here (http://www.geocities.com/doofusmusic1/) -- it's not exactly what Angela plays, but it's a good start on learning the music. IMHO, what she actually plays is easier than what that sheet music would suggest, but after all that's an arrangement. :D I haven't the time to write it out yet, but I will soon, and I'll let you know if you want. :)

  • Keep playing. Perhaps play a bit more lightly, and try to curve your fingers and not play with the flat of them... I think that would help a lot, as I think this is a rather gentle song. I also agree that it will sound a lot better with the pedal... hmm. I guess the only tip I have is to always keep your heel down on the floor, and lift up only with the front of your foot.

  • Yeah, I thought that I was pressing the keys too hard...And I realized that my fingers weren't too curved when I was playing. ^^; And I'll try that tomorrow/sometime later, thanks. :D

Ooh...the score. That works, and I'd like to be notified if you write it out. ^^

  • HAHA, this video got an honor. XD I wasn't expecting one...

  • You got the notes down, but I will be honest; it lacks a bit when it comes to "feeling" or "emotion". To create more feeling and emotion to your playing I recommend you to use the sustain pedal a bit more.

Of course, I can understand that it's a hard job to play the piano after so much time without playing the piano.

  • Yeah, I realized that the song sounds kinda...emotionless when I play it. I tried putting some more emotion after I recorded the video.

...Sad thing is that I never learned how to use the pedal when I took lessons for a few years.

  • I c, that's too bad :-( ... I recommend you to take lessons again, or try to search information about the sustain pedal.

So, you didn't really used the pedal in this recording? I bet it'll sound much, much better, with more emotion, when you're used to the pedal.

Maybe it's cool to make another recording of this beautiful song, and then with more emotion and pedalling... Just to see the difference. :-)

  • Haha, actually...I lied. Well, not really. I looked through all of my books and saw that I had taken lessons on the sustain pedal...just for like, a week before I quit.

I didn't record with the pedal, but I tried playing with the pedal, and it sounds really bad. Maybe it's because either I'm holding it too long, too far, or my piano really needs to be tuned...

I'll probably record it again once I practice the pedal a little more...possibly before Christmas, since I'll be busy with school soon.

  • Looking forward to your next recording. :)

Well, if you're holding the pedal too long, the sound get's really muddy, wich sounds bad. If I'm right, you're playing on a Yamaha piano... From what I know, Yamaha piano's sustain very quick and a lot, so it sounds quite muddy pretty quick.

Anyway, just tune your piano and enjoy playing it! :-D

  • Thanks!

...How'd you know that I was playing on a Yamaha? And is there any way to...not make it sound all muddy/messy?

Yeah, I'm trying to tell my mom to tell her to get someone to tune it again, but she's just being...lazy at the moment. Plus, some of the keys sound really...off.

  • wow i wish i culd play! good job SAIHEI! u never told me u culd play the piano i thought u culd play like the fluit or sumthin, ya i think the quality was ok but i guess it was the music GOOD JOB!!!

  • Thanks. :D

    I played the flute...remember? 7th grade? o.o

  • OH YAA! thats where got that from *hits head* jeez i remembered a flute but oh well hehe well wat other instruments do u play or did play?

  • ...Those are the only two. XD Flute and piano.

  • It's pretty good!

    I wish I had talent...

Anyway, I'd reccomend to practice more and work on your fluency. :3 Other then that, it's good.

  • Thanks. <33

Haha, yeah, like I said earlier, I was kinda shaky and nervous when the video was recording. @_@ And the camera's quality kinda killed the sound a bit.
