The DOE LLNL/UC Davis developed Dielectric wall proton system is more compact and less costly. However, it is being "developed" by Tomotherapy, an x-ray company that uses dangerous daily CT scans (14,500/yr killed) in their system. Tomotherapy would lose their x-ray business if this machine sees the light of day. Are you holding your breath waiting?
