Believe me, these Anantas really must be seen in person. If you are enough of a watch diehard and lucky enough to get to see, play and wear one, you will buy one. I did!!
Just bought the Ananta Spring Drive GMT. My personal favorite. It's drop dead gorgeous. I'll get rid of my wife before I sell this :-)
@italomagic1 What exactly does the GMT hand do? I know GMT stands for Greenwich Meridian Time which is the time based in London, England. The Ananta Spring Drive Chronograph is the spring drive technology with the most precise stop watch, but I still cannot figure out what the GMT hand does, and why did you buy the GMT and not the Chronograph one? Either way great choice, I want a spring drive so badly.
@nightrider2k6 The GMT hand is purely for setting time to a second time zone, say overseas. I guess it;s a nice feature if u travel a lot, other wise u can just set it as a 24hr hand for the same time zone you r in.
Most other Seiko watch cases made of 316L have their rough form stamped using a 700-ton press. The case for these watches are machined from a solid billet- a process which takes several hours per case.
Seiko make FANTASTIC watches. I own several, and I love them. Most people consider Seiko to be "cheap" watches, but people who know watches, know that Seiko means QUALITY. PS: I love the Ananta! I must get one!
@gompth1966 Also what people dont realize is that they have been a 'manufacture' since day one!
Inventor of the 1st quartz watch in 1969, 1st automatic chronograph on the market and inventor of Kinetic Direct Drive with 1 month power reserve and now the best of the best being the inventor of Spring Drive. The accuracy of my Seiko Ananta Spring Drive GMT has left all the other watches in my collection for dead. Not even my best quartz can compare with its accuracy. Absolutely amazing.!!
Actually the starting price is at 2 grand, so long as it's not the Spring Drive and just an Automatic Mechanical which is still super Sweet! Trust me, still a bunch of folks won't be buying them at 2grand either. I have Two so far, but neither is a Spring Drive, because I actually prefer the Automatic Mechanical.
