I fondly remember 98 SE as one of the better OS' that Microsoft put out, aside from 2000 that is. I also remembers working on older Apple hardware (although not as old as the original Macintosh.)

Hate to say this but windows 98 would have won due to the bios being configured to hold 15 seconds more or less...

Also if you want the true test... at least start them all up at the same time, with the same systems and hardware... what you have just done is like making an old man race a bloke...

Its hard to start up 3 computers at the exact same time with only one hand available. It would also be difficult to run a test with Mac OS7, Vista, and 98 all running on the exact same hardware.

At that point it was running 7.0.1

The buttons are because it use to be a school computer (back in the day), and they had a program on it to make it easier and safer to use for students. I took it into a apple reseller and they updated it to 7.1 and removed the program.

The most commonly users OS for PC is windows but when you take into consideration servers, main frames, super computers, etc you will find the majority of those run some version of LINUX. So who's to say who's right our wrong but most likely LINUX is a more widely used OS in the world of computers so look up your facts before accusing some one of not. There's your problem in win 98, you got norton :|... That pice of shit slows down everything... Vista sucks till Micro... came out with its fix Win7... Greedy basterds... But Mac isn't cheap at all, and to fix it is even worse.. it like a retarded put it together, too many different size screws.. And really what can you do with the Apple? Just get a PC and put linux on it :D problem solved... :D

Like I said, it came with norton when I bought it, hadn't had the chance to change it yet. Most of the problem was because I didn't have quick boot enabled yet.

Model numbers at the bottom and usuely get erased after x amount of years or even day's :|... Screws of different sizes looks like a retared put it together.. But who cares about the boot up... I only care of what it can actually do... But i do hate mac's more so i will stick with PC and get a linux :D... If you like that UAC that blacks out in vista then go for it :D... I know you can mod it but really? why doesn't micro fix that in sp3 or hotfix

Most of the problem could have been the computer. That laptop was a total POS. I ripped it to shreds and parted any good parts left on it. When I got my desktop I just loaded W7 on it before even testing vista.

all three of those systems fail, puppy linux booted, installed my choices of software packages, (games, tools, accessories), streamed pr0n and recovered corrupted data from the windows install. all on a 256mb RAM machine. word.

@Unknownboi88 System 1 was also on a 400 KB floppy. They didn't get 1.44 MB floppies until 1987 and even then it was an optional upgrade on the SE from the dual 800 KB floppy drives. The Mac in the video is a Mac Classic from 1990. By then hard drives were common and necessary. It came with System 7 which was by far more capable than Windows 3.0.

All that said you are right that this video proves absolutely nothing but who cares it's an interesting comparison anyway.

I recently fixed the win98 in the BIOS so it didn't do such a long startup process. If I had done that before taking the video, it would have been first to load.
