This is not the original version of the song, and neither is Shim Soo Bong's. The original tune came from a folk song (I forgot which country sorry!), then it became the tune for a Russian Folk song (Million Scarlet Roses - you can Youtube it :)) and then Shim Soo Bong (the lady who comes in and sings in the middle) did a Korean cover which was very well-received. :)

The meaning of the song came from the Russain version :)

I never in my life imagined to hear this song in Korean but now when I got interested in their culture and music I found this! So curious.

It's such a great song in whatever language you hear it. The only thing I despise is that people keep saying that the original is Russian (only the most popular cover is). Latvia may be small and insignificant country but the original still comes from one of our greatest composers.

For those who are wondering: according to Korean Wikipedia, this song is originally from Latvia. The first Korean remake was made by that lady in the video in 1997, with lyrics different from the original version or the Russian and Japanese remakes.

Apparently this song has been covered in Russia, Japan, and Korea with often different lyrics, for three decades now. It's just a great song :) And of cos I love love both singers in the vd.. Kiha's a genius and Ms. Sim is a legend!
