@Afrotechmods Look up the difference between Radiative wireless power (think Tesla) and non-radiative wireless power (these guys). Most of your questions are explained on WiTricity's website.
Then with the monitor demo, there are devices being powered well over 1 foot away from the primary coil, in a position far off to the side where there would be almost no flux. I don't see how it is possible to power those gadgets in such a configuration unless you are feeding incredible amounts of power into the primary coil, or maybe there are extra coils hidden somewhere?
I've worked on wireless charging designs for many years and there are a couple of things here that seem odd... you said that the thin coil on the ipad is stuck right on the metal surface of the tablet. The metal should be absorbing almost all of the magnetic flux - how is it possible that the system can resonate?
the biggest problem with this technology is it's short range and the magnetic field produced is almost equivalent to the earth's magnetic field so it has no harmful effect whatsoever ....
This technology is old. Nikola Tesla describes the fundamental principles over 100 years back. Also my electric toothbrush based on the same charging procress.
I would love to see every house come with a built in wireless charger so u dont need wires at all. if its in your house it chargers and you could have a lock on the charger so if so one tries to get free power is impossible
I saw this video back on Ted.com when it first came out. and i was amazed. I have been waiting for this for so long, i can't wait for this to go commerical.
WiTricity. you never cease to amaze me. Your company is fantastic, and I cannot wait to see what you and Apple can come up with in the next few years. You are the future of Technology. Keep doing what you're doing. And if there's anything that a college student in Florida can do to help your business in any way, please don't hesitate to ask.
you should have this as a mouse pad then the computer mouse can charge when you are using it without any cables from the mouse

If only we can find a way to hook this up to the earth's magnetic resonance and use the Sun's resonance as power. Egor! He's alive!

fake, you can clearly see the cable connected to iPads . . .

@Broadsmile1987 it's not fake its totally real you can google it

@Broadsmile1987
The cable goes to a loop of copper wires in the back. Your argument is invalid.
Good thing these devices use solid state drives.
