  • My South African DS23 had the strip speedometer and went to 120MPH indicated.

  • il son trés fort car la ds 23 et sortis en 1973 je vois pas comment ils ont fait pour rouler dans un model dans une 23 de 72

  • Agreed, I grew up having a 1975 DS 23 Pallas and later a 1969 DS 21 Pallas.

  • On a l'impression qu'elle peut encore monter dans les tours. :)

  • The most beautiful car in the world!

  • @Germany1976

One of them absolutely. Look what the rest of the world was making in 1955, especially the sedans. The DS was also technically a bold step at the time. Rolls Royce later bought the gas suspension from Citroen to use in their cars, as did Mercedes for their late 70s 450SEL 6,9.

  • YEAH!!!!.... ;-)

  • c'est ma vitesse de pointe en Panhard 24 CT

  • @Nicolais73 What do you know about Citroen wheels? :-((

  • @Nicolais73 No, it is right :)

  • Growing up we had 1973 GS and afterwards a 1975 DS 23 Pallas 5 speed carburetor (110PS) and much later a 1969 4 speed DS 21 Pallas carburetor (104PS). Even the DS 21 could do nearly 180km/h. Good ole days...DS is a dream car to own.

  • What is the official top speed for the 23 IE ?

  • 175km/h (109 mph)

  • @zagyex It was 190 Km/h

  • The steering wheel on a DS or ID is not meant to have the arm pointing vertically downwards. On left hand drive cars when the direction is straight, the wheel arm should be at around the 7to 8 o'clock position. On right hand drive cars the wheel should be at 4 to 5 o'clock. This is so that the wheel will collapse in a crash and not spear the driver. It also allows a relaxed finger tip control when highway cruising.

  • Then again that wheel seems to be closer to the 8 to 9 o'clock position. Hmmm....

  • @craigkeller1966 They really had thought of everything back then! What an amazing machine!!!

  • @Panos8918

was and still is my dream car. wish I could get my hands on a nicely preserved one. it is a pity that all the world auto makers are still learning how to make cars like the ds. i get the feeling it may have been devinely inspired.

  • @digessa my dream car too. a 73 ds 23 pallas in cream with a red leather interior. a truly iconic vehicle.

  • @craigkeller1966 Must have been a bitch to get the wheel alignment done...

  • Comment removed

  • No, it's the right position for the DS!

  • @wiperfluid pharbi1 seems to be right .. it looks like its little too much "40 mins" , shoud be around "35 mins"

  • Either the front wheels need an alignment or the car's going really fast in a circle!

  • You have never driven a DS I suppose? The steering wheel is in the right position to drive straight forward

  • @Roodosutaa Man, its a DS not an ordinary car. Everything is right as it is :)

  • Doah! Yes I realised that after I posted it... thanks for bringing it to my attention. Its a good speed! Its all I can do in my speed limited Soarer Twin Turbo! Must get the limiter taken off.

  • thats pretty good for a DS - mine could only get to 110 mph.

  • 110 mph = 176 km/h so that just about equals out
