In total, it would have used less than two or three minutes of tape.
Most high-end cameras (including the TRV-900 at the time) have a built-in time lapse record feature. For the ones which don't you could probably hook them to a laptop with Firewire (or USB) and use third-party software to achieve the same thing.
Looks awesome. I have a similar view at Potts Point with the Opera House and Bridge. But I don't have time lapse on my camera. I watch dawn out the window and it is always amazing. 5* Blessings +++ The Saint +++
Thank you for your response; one guesses you aren't a video-camera hobbiest but hopes you might get some time during the holiday season, to create and post a fresh video tape for we -all your fans, to see.
Thanks! Although, you only watched it for 5-10 seconds. It was a royal pain in the 2-3 hours it actually took, when I was trying to watch television :-)
This is a great movie, Sydney is a beautiful city for this kind of photography. Keep it up!
I'm planning on doing one of these in Melbourne.
@moe96699669: I live in Melbourne and I know that some of us dislike other cities, but this is just rude, offensive and unacceptable.

oh my jesus, breath taking !
I live in Stockholm - Sweden, but this is also SO BEAUTIFUL !
I love it !
I must say the best part was when the sun went down again and just when it got behind the building, the lighting was nice.
anyway yeah, make more time lapses ! :O

@fabregas0415 Thanks. It was a toss-up between that song and something by Rammstein. I think it worked out better this way...

howd you time lapse like that with one tape?
diehlken 2 years ago
By taking a single frame every few minutes.
In total, it would have used less than two or three minutes of tape.

Beautiful video!!
How did you do it, using stills (time-lapse) or did you filmed 12 dv tapes??
And another thing, I may buy one TRV900, how would you rate it?
Thanks!!
Stukov16 4 years ago
It was shot using the TRV900's built-in time lapse. I then sped up the resultant footage using iMovie.
The camera was (and still is) terrific. It's a few years old now, so I reckon you could save a lot of money and I'd highly recommend it.

Well, I think it is the best two hours that you've spent yet.
I like the sun landing breifly on the mlc center, and the silouette in the early evening is ... so intensely one-dimentional-looking.
It seems that it was done in an April or an October; is that so?
What happened at 1:54 ?
Was this vt. take from that tall building near the K.X. fire station?
Cheers.

Mate, I have NO idea what happened at 1:54. It was either a tape glitch or maybe a Firewire thing. It looks even worse on Youtube.
You've picked the location perfectly. I had access to a balcony around 15 floors up, for a few days.
