what about free radical damage from hydroquinone. i don't see this as an ad for dermalogica. i was trained at IDI and they do have the best education for estheticians. They are at the front when it comes to safe ingredients. when we react to ingredients it is because our skin is not used to the molecules. but once you do get used to it those things go a away. always start slow with any new skin care products, i currently do not use dermalogica but very grateful for my awesome education
THis is simply an ad for their company dermologica and their product Chromawhite Trx. Sad and complete bullshit trying to scare you into buying their cream.
Yes...ALL the derms/cosmetic surgeons in the US are all risking their practices prescribing Hydroquinone because it's 'unsafe'? Give me a break! These people are scam artists in a lab setting. Ask them how many people have cancer FROM Hydroquinone? ZERO. How many people had died using HYDROQUINONE? ZERO. In what? 30+ years....fact
Good things do not come cheap. There is no price for maintaining your skin. Hydroquinone is cheap for several reasons you should do your own research. The cost of getting cheap instead of trusted, safe and quality will cost you in the long run when health issues arise. Daily life is faced with many obstacles and problems don't enhance it with cost.
hydroquinone is safe and effective when applied appropriately. i was prescribed 4%. i had some light blemishes from acne scars, and after applying this cream the first 3 or 4 day, they were gone! best thing ever..
@DreamBiology I have to agree. Dr. Neal Schultz is a dermatologist. Why else would he recommened hydroquinone unless he felt it was safe. These people work for Dermatologica. Also Paula Begoun recommends using hydroquinone. Also she stated something about the FDA. If the FDA truly felt hydroquinone was not a safe ingredient it would have been banned years.
It's funny that Dermalogica makes products that include so many irritating ingredints. They also have very few sunblock products that include UVA protect. Hydroquinone is indeed safe to use and there is countless papers and over 25 years of research. When people are talking about Hydroquinone being unsafe, they are talking about unrefined Hydroquinone from a 3rd world country with no FDA guidlines. This woman is PAID to say this.
do all lightening products have hydroquinone ? im using this lightening product by dermax and it works so fast but GOD knows wot they put in it. Got it from the skin specialist
Please don't dumb down the American consumers...we would love to know the science behind these things. Most of us have high school diplomas and can handle it. That is the most important part if you are going to inform us. Otherwise I still don't understand why the ingredient is bad. Thank you though for being selective in your ingredients.
I have dark skin and my dermatologist prescribed a cream with 5% hydroquinone but she told me if it irritates my skin I should stop, she also said my there is a possibility my skin may get darker.I have tried many different products and really need to get rid of the pigment on my skin
@butterflys17 I went to family dollar/dollar store and picked up genuine black and white bleaching cream with hydroquinone! My right cheek looks a disaster! I have black leathery thick bumps, it doesn't seem to be going away any time soon!
@972trev This is what happened to my friend after one use. Her skin became leathery with grain like bumps. She also developed enlarged pores. Her skin went back to normal, but it took a long time. I definitely would stop using it to prevent any long term damage.
ok... so you admit that it is very effective but it can be harmful.. with this in mind what product do you recommend that is safe and delivers the same effectiveness as hydroquinone?
I just bought the product "AcneFree" at Target with 2% Hydroquinone. But you guys scared me so im going to stop taking it. What do you Dr's. Recommend for me to use for acne blemishes? I really need your help!!! plz
No, the hydrquinal does not cause cancer but is kills melinin and can burn off the top layer of skin leaving you with very UV sensitive skin the absorbtion of UV's on the skin with no protectin causes cancer.
In my experience hydroquinone is working so effective, I get acne scars from time to time everytime a pimple dries off my skin leaving a dark spot I am applying a small amount odf hydroquinone by palmers Skin Sucess Fade Cream and all the dark spots are dissapearing im in love with this ingredient
microdermabrasion, its about 100 -200 per treatment but it will work better than any cream because you need to remove damaged skin cells, creams will take longer.

@Rachmanfan4life I agree. Plus Chromatwhite Trx is like $85.00. You can get a lot of hydroquinone based creams for cheaper than that.

Search Dr. Neal Schultz's video on hydroquinone. He believes it is a safe ingredient and claims to debunk myths from this video.

hydroquinone has been banned in some countries. It causes thick, bumpy leathery skin. It makes the skin have an aged appearance. Scary!
It should be banned in the US!
