1st round i think it was but Shogun was on his back and Bones was dropping huge elbows or just digging his elbows into Shoguns stomach. it wasnt 'stamina' or that he was 'injured' prior to the fight, but during that match Shogun just suffered alot of punishment early on, any fighter would of continued the way he did. that punishment(elbows,punches ect) makes a fighter look 'tired', exhausted as if your you dont have any cardio.
For my money, Shogun is the greatest 205'er of all time. You can make a case for Chuck Liddell or Wanderlei Silva, but in my opinion, Shogun has got the best record of the three.

Shogun is always motivated thats a fail excuse, To say he was injured & completely out of shape due to massive layoffs is legit though, Shogun has had some series injuries in his fight career, dunno how much more his legs can take. a Healthy shogun is almost invincible in the standup department that is FACT.

I feel these highlights don't do justice to some of shoguns abilities ... you just picked the knockout combos (which often are ... a bit wild from shogun) ... but he has a lot of technical stuff too, all kind of headkicks, knees, blocks, counters, uppercuts, leg kicks. Some of his pre pride fights have a lot of cool stuff, and the ufc ones too .. just not always the KO/tko combos. You should showcase those a bit more :P :P.

Nice excuse.. this time, shogun went to one of the best knee surgeons in the US, and also followed doctor's order when it came to proper rest (he took it slow this time). He was 100%. Ring rust is a valid argument but would mean a sloppy performance not an absolute destruction by Jones. Shogun will never beat Jones. He is too small, too short a reach, and too slow compared to Jones. Took the fight like a man?? He's the damn champ, he has to take the fite.

Ok this time im the one that misread. Sure, JJ's jaw hasn't been tested but with the distance he keeps and the the power of his clinch -then-take downs, that is not going to be a problem. the only guy i can see finding the gap and seizing on it is a pinpoint laser accurate striker who is blazing fast and hits hard AND who has some reach. That someone is Anderson Silva. Shogun's reach is too short and he's too slow.
