The problem is spending! Congress is spending so much right now it's sickening scary. They have been doing it for 2 years like mad. We just passed 850B, 100B a week prior, now they want another 150B. All of you who think a $500 check in the mail from Obama have lost your way. You no longer care about your children, grandchildren, etc. You only care about that cell phone, car, eating out, etc. We have ALREADY spent so much we can't even cover the interest.

Obama supporters who think that prosperity for all, under socialism is increased, are really clueless. You really should go chat with some people in socialist countries and see for yourself. I watched the Canadian debate this weekend for example. You have citizens on their complaining about healtcare scarcity. They can't find a family Dr. You still have widespread poverty under socialism, and the overall wealth for the middleclass is reduced in order to provide bigger handouts to the poor.

I don't think McCain is talking about the depression of 2008. He is just saying if the government keeps spending that it's inevitable and he's right. He basically contradicted himself when he voted for the wall street bailout. Didn't McCain say the fundamentals of the economy were good like a month or two ago? McCain has said that he is not so good on economic matters oh and then he said that he was good when questioned at a debate. What a Joke!

The problem was that in 2005 Democrats in congress hated republicans so much for their boy Kerry losing, that they would not agree to anything. He was right. I do recall that several years ago House Republicans tried to introduce a bill to deal with this already apparent mortgage mess. I think the 2 biggest impediments were Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, along with the other socialists and a few RINO's.
