me and my friend made toothbrush bracelets, they wouldn't bend. luckily my friend's dad is a welder. so we kind of cheated by using one of his welding tools xD

I made one and then I had to melt it a bunch, cause it wasn't working and then I went on the computer and forgot about it and it turned liquid, so I had to put the ice water on it to cool it down, and now the toothbrush is stuck forever to the bottom of the pot.

I forgot about the pliers step. I used scissors then realized that it would just make the bristles really short. I decided not to hover over a trash can. I have a McDonald's napkin spread out on a desk for the bristles to land on.

I took off the bristles, i put it it boiling water for 10 minutes, i took it out to mould it - IT WOULDN'T MOULD.

Maybe you could help me, and explain why i failed so badly?

Wow, such a cute idea! And SO easy (now that you've showed us all how to do it...haha).

I tried make the bracelets the way you showed, but after a couple tries of shaping them with the towel and breaking them instead, I just shaped them in the pot while they were boiling, it works just the same (only it's a little more dangerous) and you don't have to worry about them cooling to fast. :)

okay, so I totally did the toothbrush bracelets but the bristles come out easier if you soak the end with the bristles of the toothbrush in the boiling or hot water first and then dry it off so it doesn't stick to the pliers. Also, my hands feel all sensitive from the hot plastic...

Dear italktosnakes, I just attempted (and failed) to make a toothbrush bracelet. After being sufficiently disappointed in my gross rainbow shaped toothbrush bracelet, I researched the process to find out if there was anything I did wrong and found out that the boiling toothbrush makes the toothbrush, the water in the pan, and the pan all HIGHLY TOXIC. I am now severely concerned for my health... That was fine cookware too!
