  • the thing i dont like about the ps1 version is that some parts of the environment dont move correctly with other parts. And its pretty easily noticeable too.

  • Who give a crap. I can own all three for $20 at the Goodwill. HAHAHA

  • I got a problem saving the data on n64. I think it has to do with a controller pak but I don´t know what that is and I don´t have this problem with any other n64-game... What´s that about?

  • aw HELL yes i got a ps1, thps2, RE nemesis, MGS, GT2< and syphon filter for christmas!

  • @ninjapivotman1 and an a atari with a sh*tton of games controllers and catalogs

  • who cares about graphics. n64 version is a great port but its kinda blurry and bright on some spots and there's only 6 songs and each song is not the fully completed. ps1 version has better controle's and you it has all of the songs and there are fully completed. plus you can play it on your ps2. so ps1 wins!!! but n64 is still good.

  • dreamcast version is the fucking best. The xbox version i don't really count as the same game

  • the ps1 was 32bit so when they made the n64 port of this it wasn't as graphically pleasing as the n64 however the ps1 is more nostalgic

  • add the fact ps 1 had 1 yr head start and broke very often ,

  • How come whenever I see N64 Tony Hawk game videos, you see white stuff along the edges of the screen?

  • playstation supported bigger longer games and video playback within games and that's why it won from the n64.

the nintendo 64 also had serious chipset flaws which made it a nightmare for developers vs the original playstation.

  • @foxsux6000

Here's we have someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Cartridges are perfectly capable of playing video, it just takes up a ton of room, and cartridge space is limited. Later GBA carts, which were much larger, had a few movies distributed on them, like Shrek and Shrek 2.

The Nintendo 64 had no chipset flaws. I think what you are referring to is difficulty in programming, which the Nintendo 64 did not have. The PS2, however, did.

  • @foxsux6000

The reason the PSX won is because they didn't have to pay the licensing cost for each cart, and the medium was cheaper. $7 for each cart versus a couple of cent for each CD. That, combined with far greater capacity, won the developers over.

  • psx had horrible graphics, i don't know how we got from the beauty of 16 bit era to this 3d shit, still had good games though lol.

  • dreamcast is the clear winner here

  • in my opinion n64 version is better. i like the music a lot more. ^^

  • the only difference i see is a different character model in the N64 version...

  • ps1 better

  • The Sega Dreamcast version of this game is the best version.

  • Naww that was thps3 for n64!

  • Tonky Hawk Pro Skater 2 was the last commercial game for the Nintendo 64 in North America.

  • @Draknfyre Correction: THPS3 was the last commercial game in North America!

  • Nintendo 64 was better but it was way slower wich was more better and realistic, the colors was not as bright as playstation but nintendo version is better

  • PS1- Better Textures, less boxy graphics, cd music

N64- blurry textures, crisper but boxier polygons, better render distance, crap music, slower gameplay, fewer levels.

  • N64 = better graphics but looks slower and less fun to play. IMO anyway.

  • And the best version of thps2 is... Sega Dreamcast's version. Hands down.

  • @DeeFutura Yeah!

  • @DeeFutura Xbox if you want the 4-Player action, while PC if you want netplay, THPS1 levels and even more hacking ability.

  • @DeeFutura The PC version is the best version.

  • @shadowtsunami

Nah, I think DC's controller is the best for this game, the graphics and the smooth 60 fps framerate are fantastic features, considering the age of the game...

  • @DeeFutura news flash you can use a dc controller (or any other controller) with pc. =). Well now a days anyway lol. I actually prefer the ps1 controller for it. DC and N64 always seemed awkward to me.

  • @shadowtsunami

Yup, and PC plays pretty much the every version of this game, but it just doesn't feel the same...

  • @DeeFutura You're right on this one the Dreamcast version is the better version of this game the PS1 and PC versions both have a horrible view distance and choppy videos that run at 15fps while on Dreamcast you have an improved draw distance with videos running at 30fps

  • @thelongtimemagic

And not only that, the game runs at amazing 60 fps and with the VGA-connector the game looks nice and sharp.

  • @DeeFutura agreed!

  • @DeeFutura xbox?

  • dc version pwns both anyway

  • n64 = better graphics. playstation: better music. on hthe playstation version you get to hear the whole song instead of the annoying looped and edited songs on n64.

  • PLaystation 4 ever

  • The PS1 version although had weak graphics compared to it's n64 counter part, there are more music tracks available and they are technically the full songs where as the N64 had to cut them short and remove some songs

  • PC version>all versions

  • N64 had better graphics, PS1 had better controls NOBODY CAN DENY THIS

  • @thewhitebrazilian

    Indeed

  • 2 things

    Ocarina of time

    Goldeneye 007

    N64!

  • @goutons wow!I didn't like n64 at all,but 007 changed everything!

  • ps1 has tekken so.......... i guess it wins

  • Dreamcast wins

  • n64 for 3d is way better the ps1 3d just looks bad

  • To me is clear that Nintendo 64 version is superior. PS1 3D worlds always get really distorted as you approximate polygons. Textures get gradually untwisted as you approach them also... it is maybe some technique to compensate for its low technical capabilities. N64 3D worlds look very solid. No weird distortions. This applies to any 3D PS1 game... just look at the building's windows in the first PS1 part.

  • @lightkuragari That is probably due to bad programming.Perfect example is the Crash Bandicoot series.I think that does not happen on Crash Bandicoot games, due to Naughty Dog's more aggressive style of usage of the CD drive (virtual memory).

  • @lightkuragari I've also noticed this, think it might be because N64 had superior graphics hardware. But keep in mind that PS1 had more room for detailed textures due to using CDs instead of cartridges.

  • @dir390 Yes, that's definitely right. A good example for this is Megaman Legends. Much better textures in PS1 version.

  • @lightkuragari

Who the fuck cares about graphics ? The PS1 version is faster and has better music.

  • @Farklu besides the Playstation version also ran 640x480 just as the n64 port did. It isn't like a poor 32x240 down scaled (hypothetically) A Saturn port or anything. so what if the PS games didn't really have straight lines that is the only issue. the reason is PS games had sharper graphics which resulted in aliasing. Clearer textures and more vibrant color. I would much rather play with a harder screen than a softer less content game.

  • @squirrleydew

    exactly sir :)

  • @Farklu yes, PS1 version is faster, however it seems that was changed on purpose, it's not for some technical reason. I mean, that was developers' choice. I suppose PS1 version is more enjoyable because of this fast paced gameplay. But this is specific to this game... But graphics distortion happen in every 3D PS1 game, and it really bothers me when i play those. Can't stand it. Even if the soundtrack is indeed better or textures are more detailed. But that's just me, anyway. Long life to VG!

  • @lightkuragari sorry dude, graphics arent everything, the 64 for version loses massive points for not having the awesome soundtrack. ps1 was always the clear winner.

    but then i got the dreamcast version christmas :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

  • @MrBurgundy76 Graphics aren't everything, i agree. But PS1 graphics are not even passable. Even with better textures (better textures that twist, by the way) or the coolest soundtrack (which is true for PS1 as well), I can't stand the PS1 3D rendering. It bothers my eyes. But yeah, that's just me anyway.

  • @lightkuragari N64's only benefit was the stable render of polygons. Everything else is a downside, the controller- the texturing, the texture filtering on low res texturing (I'd prefer nearest neighbor on textures that low res) and the blurry display of the N64 itself. I think the Dreamcast version is best of both worlds.

  • @InstinctualJealousy Actually you're right. If the PSX rendered polygons correctly, It's high res and nicely filtered and defined textures would be worthwile (they're not, but that's my own taste, as well as the controller, since i prefer the N64 controller). But it is unfair to say N64 is generally superior. And yes, of course Dreamcast is the best from both worlds. Although, to be fair again, Dreamcast is like the highly anticipated next generation console of that time.

  • @lightkuragari playstation 1 is still the better console though.. playing tony hawks with n64 controllers suck.. and ps1 has better sound quality to me thats more important than shit thats around me im looking at the skater and doing the tricks so yeah!

  • @cronochos Sound quality?Nope its the same. the disks get scratched its over and I can pirate ps1 games as for the controls you only need 4 buttons to play alot of games if thats not enough we have the dpad and cbuttons.

  • @sebkav88 maybe you dont notice but i sure do.. if you want argue with me that a cartridge will play just as well as a COMPACT DISC then by all means go for it.. the reason alot of developers went to playstation was because of these limitations.. low space and expensive to produce.. the disc is superior to the cartridge therefore its a better console

  • @cronochos I agree with the expensive.but the limitations they had the expansion when needed.

  • @sebkav88 im talking about space on the cartridge.. thats why as another poster stated N64 only had a few songs and the Playstation version could hold a full audio CD

  • @cronochos True, but I can easily just get my cd player and play a song better then this

  • @sebkav88 wow way to defend your original argument.. im done with you man

  • @cronochos yup bye I win.

  • @sebkav88 lol

  • @cronochos trolololol

  • whats the song at the beginning.

    PS1 is btter

  • ps 1 is better

  • Playstaitio

    n

  • i'm kicking the game in the dreamcast right now

  • The Dreamcast Version is the superior port, with improved character models and textures. Sadly the PC version didn't get these models. It would have made the game that much more worth it.

  • wow who cares if n64's audio quality was not as good as the ps1's, just the fact that they managed to put the soundtrack in is quite impressive...

  • Dreamcast wins.

  • cara de todos prefiro o tony hawks proving graund do xbox 360

    rsrsrsrsrs

  • I had this on both consoles and I found the n64 to have a lack of a soundtrack but the ps1 had lack of GPX and Cds are easy to break and carts arent able to scratch up. So I prefered the n64

  • can you do gc vs dc

  • PS1 Wins. Fatality

  • Comment removed

  • there is no such thing as linear textures, clown.

  • who cares which of the 5th gen versions are better? the Dreamcast version stomps both of these

  • @noideac i agree

  • PS1: Better Music

    N64: Better Graphics and Gameplay

  • @TheJmanMaster Id pick music over graphics, N64 mearly had samples of songs

  • n64 for smoother graphics and non linear textures

ps1 for the soundtrack and FMVs

    both are great :D

  • n64

  • n64 better ps1 skipping sound tracks kinda good graphics but n64 has better graphics ,but still both or great ;)

  • is there a reason the audio is skipping on the PS?

  • As much as I love both consoles, the PS1 just is better to me :)

  • love this game. ps1 has better play and graphics i gotta admit

  • n64 for pixel smoothing and non-linear textures

ps1 for less censorship, FMVs, and better sound

any version is good IMO, thats why i like the ps1 version of tony hawk 4 better than the ps2 version

  • win n64

  • Play it on ps3 it works and better graphics

  • Ps1 has more detail and less pop up but is not as smooth around the edges

  • chuck norris can do that without his board

  • @dogukan830 well ican ramp without a ramp

  • Supernintendo vs Sega Genesis

PS1 vs Nintendo 64 vs Sega Saturn

PS2 vs Gamecube vs Sega Dreamcast

PS3 vs Wii....... unfortunatly no Sega competitor..

  • @algelitovirgin16 i think will be better

    ps3 vs xbox360

  • @algelitovirgin16 It seems that Nintendo was always an enemy to everyone.

  • @algelitovirgin16 you forgot microsoft

  • @yoshie257 no he didnt

  • @algelitovirgin16 Ringedge anbd ringwide are fakes btw.

  • @algelitovirgin16 Sega was replaced with xbox 360. Unfortunatly no atari or sega or odessy.

  • @algelitovirgin16 I don't get what you mean i really don't!

  • @theretrogamerno1 and you wont understand.. long time ago a guy said that dreamcast beat ps1 and 63... of course sega dreamcast is no competition for them it was competition for ps2 and gamecube.... not for ps1 or 64.... that is why i typed my little chart there... what game is comptetion for what game.. but its incomplete...

but people had helped completeing it!

  • @algelitovirgin16 U have problems

  • played this on ps1 fucking love this game

  • how i hated these golf cars.. xD

  • lol draw distance

  • its the dreamcast version

dreamcast version beat the n64 and ps1 for 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000times

  • @carlosmonte500 dreamcast cant compete against any of these you dummy, sega saturn maybe the rival, dreamcast is gamecube and ps2 rival.

  • @algelitovirgin16 fuck you you fucking asshole if played this game on the dreamcast you see that this graphics are much better.

  • @carlosmonte500 of course you scumbag, its a LOT BETTER! but dreamcast its NOt n64 or ps1 rival, during dreamcast times the rivas were PS2 and Gamecube.... so dreamcast should be compared with Gamecube or PS2 you jackass.... is like comparing starfox 64 graphics with supernintendo starfox! DICKHEAD!

  • @algelitovirgin16 half the games on dreamcast were ports of n64 and ps1 third party games though, and nobody developed on the chipset because it was too goofy and there was no point. so you can compare the system to n64 or ps1 easily even though it had a 128bit processor it wasnt optimized just like the saturn

  • @KaloKross well i didnt know it was no one developed dreamcast original games... but for the time it was released, it should be compared with ps2 64 and maybe even xbox.

  • @algelitovirgin16 i know that you stupid i just was telling my opinion not comparing everyone knows that dreamcast is not comparable algelitovirgin16 don't knows that

  • @carlosmonte500 WTF is wrong you dude?

  • @carlosmonte500 I played the PS1 version back in the day. Then I played the N64 version and the Dreamcast version, my favourite is the N64 version, because I love that console.

  • what I want to know is what the hell version is ported to the ipod? None of these look like it.

  • @MonkeyMojo54

    Dreamcast.

  • seems that you played broken the Ps1 version

  • I owned it on both consoles. Loved both versions for different reasons, didn't prefer one over the other.

  • i used to hate that golf cart man ._.

  • graphics dont make the games

  • iPod touch wins haha

  • need side by side comparison coz i really cant tell anyway difference

  • PC version is, and will always be the best one

  • @Reinscorpion who plays pc games? I dont think anyone like typing in order to play lol

  • @ScorePN44 pc>consoles lol

  • @ScorePN44 + pc has better graphics

  • well playstation 1 had better control but the n64 had better graphics

  • Playstation 1 was extremely popular in its time, but all in all, N64 is a better console because of better features and graphics, the N64 had more slots for the controllers and built-in memory to save games, graphics on the N64 is much cleaner and the pixels are not visible

  • Playstation 1 was extremely popular in its time, but all in all, N64 is a better console because of better features and graphics, the N64 had more slots for the controllers and built-in memory to save games, graphics on the N64 is much cleaner and the pixels are not visible, Playstation 1 games are cheaper and easy to purchase, games for N64 are expensive but very good quality, I personally think that the N64 is better and more advanced consoles

  • lol the n64 has no videos and no blood hahaha,,, ps1 owns n64 cmon

  • PS1 ROCK´S

  • i have both versions also the gba,pc,xbox(THPS2x) but the but the best version is the dc version

  • Comment removed

  • ps1 games looks grainy and n64 games looks too edgey lol.

  • Don't hate on the often-ignored Dreamcast version.

  • @sonicheroes777 Well sadly its an often ignored console :\

I own pro skater 1 and 2 for dreamcast and love em

  • @sonicheroes777 it easily the best version, so theres no point in even comparing them

  • n64 looks like muddy textures like hell. It's sad there graphics buffer was so small. It makes all the power of the system go to waste. There was a game that worked around the small graphics bugger however that wasnt muddy. konkers bad fur day.

  • It's hard to decide because while both look great, they still look different. For example, the PS1 excels in texture quality, color, and sound, but the N64 is better at resolution, dynamic lights, and framerate. So yeah, both look good in different ways.

  • n64

  • N64, I preffer

  • n64 hands down. If n64 games were discs instead of cartridges it would rape ps2.

  • I remember I used to play the PS1 version of this game at McDonalds. It was addicting.. lol

  • When I first played this game years ago it was on N64 I had so much fun but the only thing that the N64 has over ps1 is graphics. Graphics are smoother on N64 but now ps1 got larger soundtrack with full tracks not just samples from a few songs like n64 also ps1 has blood when you bail and rumble when you grind. So ps1 takes it now the dreamcasr version is better than those two and for the big finale Tony hawk pro skater 2x which is the xbox version owns them all lmao

  • PC Forever ! :D

  • PSONE WINS

    FATALITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The sound and frame rate seem better on the psx version while the textures and shadows look better on the N64 version

  • for me its like this

    n64 better grafics

    ps1 better audio quality

  • @adrixmega091 Actually the N64 had better audio when you look into their sound processors.

The deciding factor was that PS1 had CD ROM, which was like, 200x bigger in capacity than the N64 cartridge, so the PS1 could have more uncompressed sound and video at the cost of needing loading times

  • @xilefian

Thing is, the N64 doesn't have a dedicated sound processor. Audio processing is mostly shared with the RCP, which of course was the graphical workhorse for the system.

  • @adrixmega091 You blind ?

  • whatabout dreamcast

  • Lol @ Playstatio n

  • in Nintendo 64's graphics are far ahead in pixels are less noticeable ... osea pixels .. but the audio of the music is a bit poor and without brilloo ... playstation .... and the pixels are very noticeable and mapping on 3D objects imajenes as buildings or walls, it distorts the shape of the Imaje .... but the audio is bright and sharply .. that's my opinion!

  • @elio2488 aprende a hablar ingles idiota hahah

  • win nintendo 64

  • this game looks the same on both consoles :|

  • And the dreamcast is better than both of these cause it was a 6th generation while the ps1 and n64 were fifth gen

  • Does anybody notice that the ps1 is more fast paced than the 64

  • the ps1 version looks very crapy how the buildings load look like shit ..the n64 looks like some kind of fog but that doesnt make the game look like the crappy ps1 version

  • hang on hang on,PS3 PS3 PS3 PS3

  • i gota admit, im a huge playstaion fan but in this game nintendo 64 has the better graphics,so nintendo 64 for me

  • as everyone would expect in a multiplatform game for ps1 and n64, the ps1 version has much better sound quality and the n64 version has noticably better graphics

  • dreamcast looks better than both

  • listen, dooche bags tht lov the ps1, IT FRIKEN SUKS. DEAL WITH IT!!!
