It takes a certain kind of love for humanity to write this type of music. Yes, above all the Beatles were unbelievably talented and gifted musicians, but they were also civilized human beings not perfect by any means, just four guys whose songs were about Love and Peace for this sad and troubled world.
Never will you see 3 songs in a row on an album that are this good! For me, the song Wait is one of the most underrated songs by The Beatles, Harrison guitar work is immense.
three really great songs in this album paired up into a good sequence, and it's awesome how John and Paul vocally collaborate in Wait, it's so awesome
Why is there a gap ......... just kidding Pad man. Awsome labor of love, thanks for sharing, I am rebuilding my beatles collection as my means allow me, I get great enjoyment from listening to them. And because of your posts, I remember sitting on the floor in my room with a new beatles album , then 8 tracks, and amazed at some of the songs I had not heard yet, but they were some of my favorites. Due to your efforts, I will be buying the albums, not just blue and red album. thanks man
yah right...these goddamn pauses need to quit. you can throw this on a mac computer with like final cut or something and get rid of those. in a matter of one millisecond where each gap of silence instead of music is laying. something. something can be done and should be and i'd like to think has to be.
Naw I looked it up on wikipedia. and the album I ahve is the United States version, with different song order and they both have three different songs added, this is the U.K. layout here.
I think this album especially is where John Lennon evolved from his old style of writing. In Help!, it was starting to sway a little in a different direction, but in this album, he really redefined his own music.
Mono is the way the songs were intended to be heard when the recording was being created. Stereo separation was an afterthought and the mixes are ALL WRONG in the stereo versions.
Yeah, it was the beatles on record. Saw it too. It was awesome. If you liked that youd love the beatles anthology . got it 4 christmas and it's brilliant
I love how when Paul McCartney talks about Day Tripper and says "I was the last one to take acid. It's pretty wierd because you talk about peer pressure but you would never think it would be with the Beatles!"
it wasn't really peer pressure back then lol, it was more or less "hey man we went to diner with this doctor and he showed us this awesome stuff, have a go at it.... OKAY sounds good!"
@dave8594 Yeah like fuck thats what you were saying. What you said was that " if they can make an ipod why cant they make a time machine?" Which means you think that an iPod is just as easy to make as a fucking time machine. Nice try shit head
@WoodsBall91 Well then you read wrong thats not what i meant. I mean our world is so advanced with technology today that it shouldnt be too hard to make one. Geez it was a joke chill out. Obviously you didnt get it.
i love anthology!!!! whats great about it is every time i watch it in one big runthrough (which usually takes 2 to 2 1/2 weeks), by the time i get to Let It Be, i don't even remember most of the first one! so it's like watching it for the first time, EVERY time!
@theredapple94 yeah, that's exactly how anthology feels for me! it takes such a long time to watch, and you don't remember any of it, so it's new every time!
The majority of Beatles fans in 1965 have played this in dansette mono.
Audio perceptions have changed, along with the technology. So what is the point of trying to compare then with now if what u hear is OK, unless you still want to put it on that dansette. Its an enjoyable experience, so just leave it at that
yea its cool man, it's just that in theory, the concept of mono sounds so much better....all the the sound in one channel rather than filtered among several others. but sometimes, i guess for instances when the sound travels across the channels, it's pretty cool
Oh no I totally mean what you get. I'm just so use to the stereo that the mono would be weird for me and also I've heard the later albums in mono, and I don;t like, but everything before Rubber Soul sounds great in mono, it truly does. And yes I know what you mean, sometimes the sound travels across the channels,. I can't think of a song right now but I know there is one, just can't think of the name right now.
