  • Oh... yeah...

  • Wasn't this in Blues Brothers?

  • I always like this as the bumper music for the NBA on CBS in the 1970's during the intro highlights of the broadcast.............. back when the NBA was COOL

  • Rush Hour 3? Mistakes Scene?

  • This music plays when I walk into a Club...

  • Excelente audio la primera vez que lo escuché fué en noviembre de 1961 y sigue tan fresco como entonces. Gracias por compartirlo

  • Last NITE-Oh,YEAH

  • tin tintintintintinlintin tin...

  • great song, wish there was an oldies stations that would play music from the early rock 'n roll era to the pre-British Invasion era

  • Im addicted to this song!

  • Come back to my place, we're going to have it off!

  • Good old time rock and roll!

  • BOTTOM!

  • This song was in the movie The Help

  • Love this song! Takes me back, traveling in my dad's old van, chilling on the bed in the back, ( yes they had beds back then) jamming to the eight tracks.

  • SWEEEET! I've been trying to figure out where this song came from, I know the Last Night song by Chris Anderson and had no idea it was a cover. Heard this song in a movie and started tracking it down, thanks for posting this!

  • BOOKER is on the track playing piano

  • It's DUCK DUNN not LEWIE STEINBERG on bass. STEINBERG wasn't in the MAR-KEYS. They started out with STEVE "THE COLONEL" CROPPER, DUCK & other musicians who started out as THE ROYAL SPADES.Also ISSAC HAYES plays organ here, not BOOKER

  • This song was 50 years ago no.9 in the world charts #mar #keys

  • OOOOOOHHHHH Yeah! 1:36

  • on aurait fats waller vous trouver pas ?

  • That is also the Madison's song, isn't it ?

  • I like the part where he plays the bass.

  • The bass player on this track is Lewie Steinberg. He was also the original bass player and co-writer of "Green Onions" with Booker T and the MGs. He was the house bass player at Stax at the time and Duck Dunn was added AFTER Lewie did the first tour. Get your facts straight Jeff. Lewie did this track as a sideman and was not a member of the Mar-Keys.

  • Long live the instrumental! One of my absolute favorite songs!

  • Thumbs up if you are a bottom fan, like me.

  • another of my favorites i love this song used in the movie last night with keannu

    reves

  • @seanelgatotelevision:The Mar-Keys and Booker T. were both at Stax records but there is NO similarity between them. They are two separate groups.

  • @7tarn No similarity except for the fact that Booker T, Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn, and Al Jackson were in the Mar-Keys and eventually became Booker T & the MGs. As SeanElGatoTelevision pointed out. Two distinct bands, yes, but there are similarities.

  • @7tarn SEPERATE GROUPS YES BUT, BOOKER, CROPPER DUNN & JACKSON were in both groups so there is certainly similarity

  • oh yeah,

  • our dog goes totally menstral when she hears this song. makes us laugh. she goes all growly and barky. sounding all vicious. she is 19 month old morkie.

  • @Hyunie Are you sure you meant "menstral"?

  • @sevandyk oops wow so didna notice that. yeh meant mental.

  • I now want to watch Bottom

  • A Top 5 hit for The Mar-Keys in August 1961.

  • The best of the best Instrumentals ever..you cant keep your feet still with this tune..FAB

  • Blues Brothers 2000!

  • GREAT instrumental!

  • I can just see two people kicking and hitting each other with a crescendo of eye poking.

    Brilliant.

  • Always loved that instrumental song! That Hammond organ in there sounds just great!

  • The first hit when they changed the name from Satellite to Stax. Started as a dub at the local radio station. Discussed a lot in the book "Sweet Soul Music". Ooooooh yeah ....

  • Played forever on los angeles radio stations.......the 1960s rocked.

  • Can anyone hear Brent Musberger's voice when listening to this song?

  • @Jiltedin2007 Live! from the Boston Garden. Game five of the NBA World Championship! The Phoenix Suns... and the Boston Celtics!

  • @KNS1996DFS Ah yes the 1976 NBA Finals. Game 5 at Boston Garden. What a Triple Overtime Classic that was. And you had Rick Barry commentating with Brent Musberger in that game.

  • @Jiltedin2007 And Mendy Rudolph reporting.

  • @KNS1996DFS Oh yes. And reason why it got so rowdy after Havlichek's basket with :01 in Double Overtime was because the game was on a Friday Night, and the Celtic Faithful was waiting to let off a little steam. I guess that's why a Fan got into a fight with Richie Powers with all of the Boston Faithful who stormed the Parquet Floor(And the Celtics) thinking that the game was over right then and there. But it was not the case.

  • @Jiltedin2007 Garfield Heard just had to ruin it for everybody, didn't he?

  • @KNS1996DFS At least Boston still won dat game and da series.

  • @GeraldB526 Lucky 13, that's all that matters.

  • @KNS1996DFS Datz right

  • Talk about a great instruentals ... this is one. Thanks for loading it on. Jerry (North Carolina)

  • Awwww Yeah!

  • What a bumpin' tune!!!

  • Can't you hear Brent Musberger !!!???? "you're looking LIVE at the Boston Garden"!

Where's Cowens, Havlicek, JoJo....and getting ready for a Game 5 vs. Phoenix in the 1976 NBA Championship. STILL THE GREATEST game ever played, and the only game in which Richie Powers actually got into a fight with a 'fan' !!!! NBA on CBS baby !!!

  • @43Cudahy I can see that I'm not the only one who can hear Brent Musberger's voice in his mind from this song. Yes, the NBA on CBS were good times!

  • Comment removed

  • i BELIVE AFTER WHILE THEY CHANGE THE BAND NAME TO THE MARKETTS.

  • @buddyeagle: You are thinking of B. Bumble and the Stingers...The Mar-Keys eventualy became Booker T. and the M.G.'s.

  • We use to play this song in the marching band in 1964.We would stop and throw down in the middle of the parade.I played trumpet..great memories...........

  • For some reason I can't listen to this song without thinking about "Les Gendarmes de Saint Tropez"

    Marvelous song!

  • Can't listen to this song without thinking of Bottom....

  • Elle a perdu sa culotte !! :D

  • Bottom

  • RRRR this is bugging me! When i went to Tunisia they did line dancing to this song but it isnt actually this song. It had a bit of singing in it too and i can not find it. Does anyone happen to know who did the version?

  • Does anyone here on You Tube remember this song being played before they would do the intro to the NBA on CBS? Brent Musberger would be talking through this song in previewing the game being presented by the NBA on CBS.

  • @Jiltedin2007, Yes the greatest sports intro. to date.

  • @paulie4m Ah yes, the good old days. Brent Musberger and the NBA on CBS, good times. But as Lakers Fan, this was during a time when the Lakers were in a Rebuilding Phase. But even then NBA Basketball was still exciting in the 70's. I can still hear Brent Musberger's voice in my mind every time I hear this song.

  • My dad would sit me on his bed and play this song when I was 4 or 5 years old! He was the major influence in my musicianship! Hearing this song took me back 45 years to the memories of what can never be again. Rest in peace Dad.....I miss you and I'll keep your albums safe!

  • Simple but sticky...I can dance to this all night long...... :)

  • love those old instrumentals!

  • I'd love to have my band cover this, but I can't find tabs anywhere for it. Oh well.

    Nevertheless, good little song.

  • @SinOfTheHeart WTF man, it's just a standard Blues. Use your ears man. I bet you can do it.

  • Time to cut a rug down at The Jug. Roll the carpets back and move the sofa to the side. Regards, The '62 Mathew St. Band (1 Man-Full Group Retro)
