Even though its a treat to hear this live, I am bugged by the "new weezer" sound style they played this in. Also, the coda = best ending to a Weezer song. EVER
@Nintendogsmaster3 Can't believe it took so long for anyone to complain about the line up.
With that said, after seeing the two Austin shows, I stopped caring about the line-ups. As long as Pat is on drums for half the show, I'm happy. I like a lot of the guitar stuff he brings to the show.
@MistaRowland@Nintendogsmaster3 I'm pretty much over it too (the Pat on drums thing). Then again, Pat never played drums to this song in the demo. It was all Rivers. I think it's pretty rad that they are throwing random surprises at their recent shows. Especially this one, I bet it was fun for them to go back come up with a live version of a rare demo made 15+ years ago. Thanks for posting! :) I wish I was there
Way to be a needy bitch. Oh and it's called a CODA; and for god sakes, the fact that they played the song is shocking as it is. And also i'd take the great solo over the coda.
@redbirdjack Released group version? No. Live version at a show like this. Perhaps, but you are also replying to a several month old post. This was an incredibly rare demo.
@redbirdjack Also, thank you. RIP Mikey. Coming back here to listen this was very refreshing after the terrible news. I actually sent Mikey a message asking him to "take care of himself because he was a talent." He was kind enough to reply back saying "All is well and to not be worried." Nearly 10 days later and now he passed away in the city where I live.
Rivers just watched this on Ustream

@AmnesiacGaming Not sure I agree with you saying this sounds like "new weezer."

Why was Songs From the Black Hole never made? Such an amazing song, as well with a handful of others.

Way to leave out the vocal harmony/falsetto at the end that made the song amazing.
Fuck you Weezer.

Words cannot accurately describe how much I enjoy seeing/hearing this live finally.

They need to record THIS version in the studio with the full band. That would be amazing

@Encenoa This song is very old. It's been around since the Pinkerton/SFTBH days.
DelScorcho11 9 months ago
@DelScorcho11 I am aware of this. I'm from AllThingsWeezer(dot)com. It still doesn't mean they shouldn't record and use this piece of music.
Encenoa 9 months ago
@Encenoa This song is on Pinkerton Deluxe, as well as River's "Alone" album. You should check those out.
OpsElite 9 months ago
@OpsElite Doesn't count, I was aware of that. This needs to be a single on a new album, quickly.
Encenoa 9 months ago
@Encenoa it's already been recorded twice and released twice.
