I think it's way too late to change the name of "Occupy" to something else. I can see Derrick and Waz' point of the negative associations with that name, but Occupy is part of the popular lexicon right now. What the movement does is more important than what it calls itself anyway. It seems to be having an overall good effect on maintaining awareness of the 1%'s misuse of its wealth.

Another option. Picking up on Aric's talk of Hoovervilles. We could just add villa to everything: Wall Streetville, Oaklandville. All parts of Obamaville. Republicratville.

How about using Community instead of Occupy? Community Wall Street, Community Oakland, etc. Or maybe Make Community. Make Community Wall Street, Make Community Oakland...

Thanks for this incredible video! The people in the video besides Derrick, in order of appearance are: Waziyatawin, Lierre Keith, and Aric McBay. They all gave excellent addresses to the crowd.

I hope the occupy movement does consider changing their name to something which embraces the language of decolonization, in solidarity with colonized peoples not just on this continent but all over the world.
