tee hee - this made me chuckle. I do this with my Dobe Seeker - she does just the same and has me in stitches.......I am not sure who else would get away with it other than our family. As soon as you stop playing though - seeker grabs my hands with her paws or then whispers/whines if I stop. Dobermans truly are a fantastic breed and are so misinterpreted.

I do the same thing with my collie and a friend's french bulldog. It's a form of play. Trust me, if she'd wanted to bite him, she would have done it. When she does get a hold of his hand, she gives kisses. No problems here people

I too love "chomp" sound! Years ago we had a babysitter that loved to toss food to our Dobie Sunshine, just to hear that noise, then he'd say in an admiring yet shivery way, "Snap those jaws!"

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with their "scissor bite." I've noticed our Dobe is the only dog that we have that does that as well.

@prettycountrygal if you have raised "dobermans" for 30 years you would spell it right. I was raised around rotties and currently own a Doberman, it is all how they are raised. I put my hands, face, feet, ect in my dobbies mouth and I trust him 100%. He's never been around children and the first time he was it was around two year old twins and they pulled his face and tried to ride him. He did not snap once. If he was annoyed he would walk away. It is all how you raise and train your dog.

Exactly. Every dog is different. I know 100 pound pit bulls that think they're lap dogs that wouldn't even know how to hurt someone if they tried and I know chihuahas that want nothing more than to eat your neck muscles (no offense Pablo!)
