i haven't played aion, but from my point of view it looks great, i play mu-online for 4 years and i recommend it to many people who like PvP games and Guild Wars. Enjoy and Good Luck.
@TheLahFam i played the WoW trial and have seen my friends play their 80s enough to know that theyre both very different games. Aion has goods and bads. WoW has goods and bads. depends what you like. The graphics and animations in Aion make the game flow a lot better, therefore i find combat/pve/pvp more entertaining and less dull. i found myself getting bored of WoW shortly after logging on once i hit about level 15 or so because PvP was too generic. it's a double edged sword, though.(cont.)
@TheLahFam the PvP in aion is much more fulfilling, but the way NCsoft has it organized just plain sucks. one instance you can do 3 times a day that's mostly PvE with a little bit of PvP, and now that they've nerfed rifting... it's just not as fun as it could be. Aion has the potential to be a far better game than WoW, but given WoW's huge player base and substantial character depth, i don't see WoW going down anytime soon. especially considering the upcoming release of cataclysm.
@TheLahFam I play Aion private server...mainly cause the public one is p2p. which sucks.
but from my viewpoint, having played wow, never really found it interesting, Aion's alright, the flight system annoying in that you can't fly in most p2e places, with the exception of the abyss.
The one major irritation I found is that fact that you have to run everywhere. that and the quest system which isn't rlly that diff from other online mmorpgs.

He is very well geared (full miragent, full lvl 50 gold pvp accessories)) enough aps to get 2-3 piece of the lvl 50 pvp elite set. holding a total of 43 mils kinah. At the cost of $200(very cheap compared to websites selling lvl 50 accounts characters at $600-800). Only accepting payment through pay pal. Please check your network conection and try again" wtf is that, i played like for 3 months and instantly when aion 2.0 came up next day i couldn't play on infinite aion cuz its 2.0 now and i couldn't update cuz of that problem. lol everyone always says ever other mmo is the "wow killer". The facts are...the player base of wow is higher than any other mmo, and it's the most polished. When a wow killer is really released it will shake the foundations of the genre and redefine everything about it...this...does not.

@MASTAbadman 2 factions, 8 classes, 2 races. The class depth isnt as good as wow's, but the skill combo chains and movement give it a very different feel i would recommend at least trying it

On Aion website it said there is warrior, scout, mage and priest..do all these gladiator, cleric, etc. fit into those 4 categories? I'm a little confused.
@GamexReviewx you become these once you hit a certain level, like warrior can be gladiator or templar, scout can become ranger or assassin, mage can become spirit master or socerer, and priest becomes cleric or chanter
Grinding sucks in this game but its going towards the "better" way. Ive heard that the leveling will become easier soon with the vision expansion/patch.
2 be honnest. : from a 5 year wow players standards: aion is an alright game. it has goods and bads. GOOD are : looks amazing cracter movement is amazing and pvp is fun:. BAD : the npc voices dont speak english that well. it takes way to long to level. and most people you will meat will be botters, and it is a grind fest to get any where in the game.
dont take me wrong. i still play aion every now and then.

@Exanno classes are just like wow pritty much. i am only level 17 atm. and i am a gladiator. 2 b honnest the game is fun. but leveling can be a real pain in the ass. and healing classes are same as wow ( sorta ) i think cleric ( priest healing) spirit master ( shaman kinda XD) and pally ( more tank/dps ). and others like ranger = hunter rogue = rogue mage = mage etc etc. lol
@loyaltodeath Since 1.9 the leveling probs has been fixed (if there ever was any, cause I never had any probs)... I don't think most ppl ever listen to the npc's in mmo's I'd rather just hurry up and finish the quests so that I can go on to the next one^^, In the end all I care about is the game play and looks of the game, and Aion pretty much pwns any other mmo-rpg on both terms...

Your probably better off going to Infinite Aion, like most. I agree in the original it took me 2 weeks to get to level 18 [when it first released Idk how it is now]
It takes 2 hours to get to 18 :> depending if your slow or not.
it took me 7 hrs to go from second level of crafting to the third. i'd say that's a grind fest, especially since you have to be at your keyboard the whole time! it can take over a minute to extract 1 node, only to get at best, 3 pieces of ore. i'd say that's a grind fest. it takes the same amount of time to extract aether, but you have to be flying to do that. if you fly for 2 mins, then it takes 2 mins for your wings to regenerate. i'd say that's a grind fest.
you have to pvp, run instances, or grind guards for ap to buy your gear. after you get your gear, you need to socket manastones and enchant it to stand a chance vs others in pvp. if you socket 3 manastones and get a bad rng, you lose everything. the same is true for enchanting. i'd say that's a grind fest! after you run out of the manastones and enchantment stones you collected, you better hope you have the $ to buy more. that leads to even more grinding. aion=grind and gank fest!
@HeliosTitan gripe fail... it doesn't take 2 mins for wing recharge no watter the flight time... ever heard of rest? If you do work order it takes 1-3 hrs to lvl ANY craft (not all at the same time but i doubt you're that dumb), it takes a couple seconds to extract a node. The nodes are plentiful if you're willing to LOOK, who aether taps anyway? the guy near the smithing room sells all the aether you need

The first 100 levels, from what ive heard, really doesnt take that much of your time. Maybe like a few hours of crafting (depends on your pace) could get you that first 100 and you could get the next 100 in like a week. Later it becomes a huge time and money sink, but as i said before, you can still get some good profit off of it to pay it all off.

@MrXxsnipersxX No thats not all. each class splits up into different class advancements. There are two races both differ in class skill.
E.G.
A Asmodian Warrior might do a basic attack by swing his blade round house like.
Where as an Elyos warrior would stab for a basic attack.
This game is so indepth it is amazing. Trust me when I say it is worth every cent AND MORE.

lol everyone always says ever other mmo is the "wow killer". The facts are...the player base of wow is higher than any other mmo, and it's the most polished. When a wow killer is really released it will shake the foundations of the genre and redefine everything about it...this...does not.

@MASTAbadman 2 factions, 8 classes, 2 races. The class depth isnt as good as wow's, but the skill combo chains and movement give it a very different feel i would recommend at least trying it

On Aion website it said there is warrior, scout, mage and priest..do all these gladiator, cleric, etc. fit into those 4 categories? I'm a little confused.

Clerics are the main healers, and the dmg they do is like a spellcaster. Chanters are the offhealers, and the dmg they do is melee.
All the classes can be compared to wow's classes (or some combination of them) since they are really just fantasy architypes.

Grinding sucks in this game but its going towards the "better" way. Ive heard that the leveling will become easier soon with the vision expansion/patch.

2 be honnest. : from a 5 year wow players standards: aion is an alright game. it has goods and bads. GOOD are : looks amazing cracter movement is amazing and pvp is fun:. BAD : the npc voices dont speak english that well. it takes way to long to level. and most people you will meat will be botters, and it is a grind fest to get any where in the game.
dont take me wrong. i still play aion every now and then.

@Exanno classes are just like wow pritty much. i am only level 17 atm. and i am a gladiator. 2 b honnest the game is fun. but leveling can be a real pain in the ass. and healing classes are same as wow ( sorta ) i think cleric ( priest healing) spirit master ( shaman kinda XD) and pally ( more tank/dps ). and others like ranger = hunter rogue = rogue mage = mage etc etc. lol

@loyaltodeath Since 1.9 the leveling probs has been fixed (if there ever was any, cause I never had any probs)... I don't think most ppl ever listen to the npc's in mmo's I'd rather just hurry up and finish the quests so that I can go on to the next one^^, In the end all I care about is the game play and looks of the game, and Aion pretty much pwns any other mmo-rpg on both terms...

Your probably better off going to Infinite Aion, like most. I agree in the original it took me 2 weeks to get to level 18 [when it first released Idk how it is now]
It takes 2 hours to get to 18 :> depending if your slow or not.

it took me 7 hrs to go from second level of crafting to the third. i'd say that's a grind fest, especially since you have to be at your keyboard the whole time! it can take over a minute to extract 1 node, only to get at best, 3 pieces of ore. i'd say that's a grind fest. it takes the same amount of time to extract aether, but you have to be flying to do that. if you fly for 2 mins, then it takes 2 mins for your wings to regenerate. i'd say that's a grind fest.

you have to pvp, run instances, or grind guards for ap to buy your gear. after you get your gear, you need to socket manastones and enchant it to stand a chance vs others in pvp. if you socket 3 manastones and get a bad rng, you lose everything. the same is true for enchanting. i'd say that's a grind fest! after you run out of the manastones and enchantment stones you collected, you better hope you have the $ to buy more. that leads to even more grinding. aion=grind and gank fest!

@HeliosTitan gripe fail... it doesn't take 2 mins for wing recharge no watter the flight time... ever heard of rest? If you do work order it takes 1-3 hrs to lvl ANY craft (not all at the same time but i doubt you're that dumb), it takes a couple seconds to extract a node. The nodes are plentiful if you're willing to LOOK, who aether taps anyway? the guy near the smithing room sells all the aether you need

you are a liar! you aked anyone to tell you why, i did. your response is a lie. all i did was work orders. if you crafted anything, you would know how long it takes! who cares who sells aether, you can tap it, and if you do, it's a grind. the reason people tap is to get the gems. do they still put a limit on how many superior gems you can buy? i shouldn't have to rest when i'm being made to fly to get it. this entire game was made to keep you grinding, it's bout that monthly fee!

i said up to a minute to extract a node. learn to read. it's on an rng system. the only way you can extract a node in less than 5 secs, is if you already mastered it's level. it can still take up to 15 secs for all three rngs to run, even if you're a master. it's hella stupid grind that only the most patient people can live with. have you noticed how empty the servers are these days. good luck with your boring grind!

you can also google, crafting in aion not worth it. here's a quote taken from a player posting on the board.
The first 100 levels, from what ive heard, really doesnt take that much of your time. Maybe like a few hours of crafting (depends on your pace) could get you that first 100 and you could get the next 100 in like a week. Later it becomes a huge time and money sink, but as i said before, you can still get some good profit off of it to pay it all off.

come play "the chronicles of spellborn" also its a real-time gameplay even in PVE.
with proper PING (latency) this game is the closest to FPS you can get.
