Been listening to these guys since the release of the First Act and I must say that these guys have outdone themselves with this Spectrum. It actually revitalized my love for the band. I was getting tired of the Acts so this break is great cause it gives me and Casey, himself, a chance to empty ourselves out and regroup. It must have been therapeutic for him to write from a true place instead of a concocted story.

From what I understand they started as indie-kinda band. This particular genre feels sort of alternative metal, leaning towards a progressive structure. Reminds me of Tool (God, I hate the cliche, but I use it more as a compliment)

TDH is my favorite band, but this song fell pretty flat for me. It fits with a "black" aesthetic, but Casey's vocals were pretty boring, especially relative to his usual awesomeness. The instrumental is tight, though. Reminds me of TREOS, too.
