Why build houses with wood and nails when we have more practical materials and technology that have less impact on the earth's environment ?
Erect a reenforcing mesh and blow up a balloon structure around the mesh and poor in concrete and when the concrete has dried, let the air out of the balloon structure.
The reenforcing mesh and balloon can have the shape needed and reused again and again if that model becomes popular.
Same technique could be used for basement cold storage rooms.
Boooo! People are too lazy for this to work >_<. Instead of watching a cool video that someone else made, get off your ass and get a f'ing education! Become an engineer, doctor, or lawyer instead of waiting for someone else to do the hard work.
How exactly would this work?Who would design and build this stuff? What incentive would people have if they wouldn't be paid to design and build these things and would have the same stuff as people who did nothing. Who decides what resources are used for what things?Who decides who lives where and what type of dwelling they have? There are many things about TVP that won't make it work. Some people will have more power than ANY ONE today has. Since TVP controls EVERY aspect of your life
@whothaplaya engineers would design the buildings and machines would do the work. A person would becom an engineer because they want to do so, they woudn't need money to be motivated. Decisions are scientificly arived at in a RBE using the scientific method. People would be able to live wherever they want in whatever house they like. A RBE does not control every aspect of your life.

This is wrong on a number of technical points. For example, the notion that we no longer need to burn fossil fuels. I really wish that this were true, but it simply isn't the case yet. To even change our energy infrastructure over will take huge amounts of fossil fuel, and there's simply no avoiding it in any direction we turn. Once humanity gets nanotech working on large scale then the Venus Project can be considered, but not until, and not on Earth given the politics of the place.
And the people o don't acept the project? What we gone do? We need to think. They are a mentality completely diferent from the true. i am thinking. But i don't whant this proejct lose only because a insignificant people win.
i went around my small redneck town tryin to explain this stuff and i got put in jail then put in rehab for two weeks...i gave away my federal icome tax to ppl in this community Now every one thinks im "CRAZY"
the venus project could have been a better project if it would have tackled a much more important issues than just a cool futuristic cities etc..
-Talk about how out of control humans are when it comes to breeding and how important it is that we NEED to follow a one child policy, not only in China but all over the world. Most people are numbers and have zero quality. Also there should be selective breeding to increase the number of smart and talented people.
@HeilNizar One child policies are irrelevent without first tackling sustainabilty issues. Even if we maintained current population, without addressing sustainabilty issues, our society would still be rife with the same problems we see today. Also, the improved environment would naturally increase what we call smart and talented people because stress free and positive environments allow more positive personal development
My main problem with the Venus Project: it's a sterile world, and art cannot exist with such sterility. It would be a cultural wasteland! You cannot put the creative imagination into such a sterile environment. My opinion anyway, based on my own experience. I would surely be a misfit in a world like that.
@looterish On the contrary, in a world where people can actually do what they desire and are not hindered by boring, monotonous jobs, creativity and diversity would flourish. Jaque Fresco said himself that people of the future would design their own cities and I believe that to be true. His design is just that, his design. I see great diversity in each city in a RBE, and individual people would be far more artistic and intelligent than today.
@MilesTyson I sincerely hope you're right. It's a truly wonderful world envisioned in the Venus Project, but there always seems to be a dark side to every coin (pun definitely intended) where human behavior is concerned. It's that dark side where our creativity takes on the potency of art. To continue the "coin" pun, I wonder what will happen to our imaginations in a world where "coinage" is irrelevant.
@looterish@looterish sterile? theres no ban on art in this idea. just free art supplies for anyone who wants to use them. The fact that anyone could access any type of art/music equipment they need w.o money being a factor would probably lead to a huge increase in creativity and expression. Please explain what you mean by sterile.
@chard950 well, sterile as in squeaky clean, everything modular, everything circumscribed by geometric design. Besides, don't we already have this modular paradigm in office buildings, hospitals, prisons, shopping malls, apartment high-rises which have become known as "projects" and usually represent poverty and general contempt for the "modular" environment, cruise ships, hotels etc.? These already characterize our environment, but they are not places I would like to call my "home."
the venus project is an interesting point for thought, sadly i don't think that we as a species will even be able to overcome our desire for violence because of what we have subjected ourselves too. no matter how wonderful life could be.
What if the computer running things says one day: There are too many people about one billion must be terminated Would you balance the equation ? Would you pull the trigger ?
How would you chose who goes ?
Please listen this story: Kurt Vonnegut - "2BR02B"
wow! what a mega project and great video presentation. Yes, the resource based economy is a good concept and it had done in early ages of human evolution, now alternative biofuels and renewable power sources plays vital roles in future.your video about alternative energy but the generating and machinery is costly and not in reach to common man, this must be reduced to get them in everyday use..
@NYSteamerMan lol.. yup.. daily over the loudspeakers next to every camera lens to make sure you are working correctly..If not.. well, refer to LOGANS RUN..LOL
It would be a never-ending cycle of over-population and thus lower resources. Having enough resources will eventually cause us to not have enough resources. I have yet to hear an argument that goes in this direction without such deadly flaws.
@zestysteve1 Recycling? Recycling? Aluminium/aluminum requires so much energy to be extracted from bauxite that ALCOA transports bauxite to Iceland where the electricity is cheaper and then re-imports the aluminium. Aluminium is the only material that is cheaper to recycle than to dig up more raw materials (in contrast to paper/plastic for example - unlike wood aluminium doesn't grow on trees.)
2:10 "Yes, we do!" This sounds good and all, but you've got to prove it! We should be able to ask: So robots will pick the crops? Or: So Robots will perform the surgery's? And You have to not only say yes, they will. You have to tell us how. Or you have to provide us with a link to something that will show us
@SpellboundSolution I wouldn't call it Marxism. Marxism relies on scarcity, technocracy (The Venus Project) relies on abundance. I believe in technocracy, we should all strive to achieve total possible automation with our technology. Once we PROVE that everything can be automated (except for ideas, art, entertainment) we should establish technocracy. Until then we should stay in capitalism, much more regulated though because it does in fact cause problems when allowed to run rampant.
@MacabreManifesto I'm afraid scarcity is the norm; this whappy Utopian idea is based on the premise that we can essentially wish think abundance into being. Markets are the best way to regulate how the few resources we have available can be best utilized. For example all that oil sitting under Persia was of no value until the capitalists, in the form of BP came to utilize it. And the Iranians and other Middle eastern states could only use that resource by stealing what we made for them.
@SpellboundSolution I guess what I'm saying is resources aren't enough. "Resources" on their own are worthless. Would the world be a better place tomorrow if we destroyed every private oil trading and refining corporation and instead gave every person in the world a barrel of crude oil? You see my point? And all this nonsense about maglev trains under the ocean that will never need to be repaired in a society with no store of value (no money) is the stuff of very poor quality sci-fi.
@SpellboundSolution We don't need to use oil. Not just because The Venus Project assures it in Zeitgeist. The fact is that it is possible to get out of the oil rut. It's just very expensive, much more expensive than using oil at the moment. However, at one point (before peak oil) oil will become more expensive than alternatives. Our change from an oil based economy at that point could fuck us up immensely. Energy that our technology (utilized or not) has access to is abundant, and will last...
@MacabreManifesto ...until the sun fizzles out in millions of years. Another thing that requires abundance is elements. We can recycle all of our elements, especially if we had access to tons of renewable energy. Food? We don't even NEED arable land anymore. Everything can be done 100% organic hydroponic/aeroponically in tall buildings. The ONLY downside I've ever heard from the experts about vertical farming is THE COST. But that goes away with non-monetary system. everything is potentially...
@MacabreManifesto ...abundant, except MAYBE automation. We must check and see if we can automate what we haven't automated yet (btw we have developed automated farming, its just very new and hasn't been applied yet. And if it was is could devastate the society we have now)
@MacabreManifesto Capitalist economics is not based upon need; we use oil, or rather the products of cracking the oil, because it's the cheapest fuel at the moment. "Peak oil" has being going to occur every year for the last century too. And do you have any idea how many products are made from petroleum? Try making a plastic bag from corn... People who prattle on about need and "peak oil" need to retake economics 101 and learn a bit more about the petroleum industry.
@SpellboundSolution So, what? Oil is going to last forever? Granted, there have been lots of false alarms about peak oil, but we know that it's eventually going to come, and it's grossly irresponsible to not do anything about it when our current economy is based on massive use of energy reserves that won't last forever, even if it will last for another century. I know that capitalism isn't about what we need, it's about what is the most profitable. That's one of the problems with it.
@MacabreManifesto That is what is right about it. The law of supply and demand and a market based upon that principle free from top down control backed by the guns and bombs of government which, let's not forget, maintains a monopoly on force, is what gives us the standard of living we in semi-capitalist countries take for granted. When oil truly does reach a low supply (when peak oil really does occur) the law of supply and demand will drive capitalist innovators to replace it, not until.
@MacabreManifesto No, I don't believe that a country can or should provide people with a high standard of living; that is for the individual to achieve. Look around the world today and throughout history: the extent of people's success is the extent to which they have been left alone, the extent of their misery is the extent to which those with the swords and guns have controlled them, usually in the name of helping them (such as the >100,000,000 who died at the hands of communist governments).
@SpellboundSolution But those were in the days of scarcity. If our current level of technology can provide everyone with more renewable resources/energy, and automation than they need or want (to a reasonable extent, you can't really eliminate scarcity if someone wants an absurd amount of stuff) then we should tap into that technology and eliminate the need to work. Of course we need some hard data that says we're actually there, and if not we should work towards it in regulated capitalism.
@MacabreManifesto But that comes back to what I'd call "spotty teenage technology" liberally sprinkled with a layer of you fail economics forever. Economic just. Doesn't. Work that way. People will not build gigantic structures out of memory metal, which is not cheap by the way, in a society without money and there is no way to build self-maintaining, self-repairing robots that will magically bring non existent resources into existence.
@SpellboundSolution Memory metal is a titanium nickel alloy, if there was enough titanium and nickel in the earth (and in asteroids in our solar system once we achieve that level of technology) then we'd have plenty. There is plenty of both, but I know for a fact that titanium takes a lot of energy to extract from ore, which is solved by unlimited energy. And that's what the Earth wide survey is for, see what we have and then plan using that.
@MacabreManifesto Do you know what American aerospace engineers called titanium during the cold war? Unobtanium. Granted, that was because most of it was in Soviet owned countries, but titanium is still a semi-rare metal (hence its high price). I'll say again what I've said before: you can't wish think the non-existent into existence. And you certainly can't have an unlimited supply of energy. What next, perpetual motion machines?
@SpellboundSolution Not unlimited, but we could access far more energy than we do today if we invested heavily in alternatives using our money and/or resources. By the way, titanium is one of the most common metals on earth, unfortunately it is more spread out across the earth and thus much harder to mine. If there wasn't enough titanium, we could use other stuff!
@MacabreManifesto That is why the Venus Project reeks to high heaven of Marxism to me: it promises a utopia of unlimited abundance in this world of scarcity in a society with no rules, no values and above all no work. Even if such a utopia was possible, magical self-maintaining robots, undersea maglav trains and all, I don't think I'd want to live in that world.
Yes Yes, This is great, a perfect plan for Utopia!!! Or isit?
Yes Yes its a plan, a great IDEAL plan. Not practicable. It is human nature that stops us from following that plan. Ever heard of the 7 deadly sins? Those are the seven flaws of humanity that prevents us from creating a utopia. Greed, Jealousy, Lust, Gluttony, Wrath, Pride, and Sloth. If you wish to creat a utopia, you can follow the book, "Brave New World". But if you have ever read it, you will realize that Utopia is impossible.
@ladbroke8 Human behavior may be shaped by our social background, but it is based on our instincts. And our instinct of survival of teh fittest mean to get the best out there and life an easier life.
but its not your instinct to train to be an accountant or policeman. You get limited choices, repetative jobs that you have to submit to to obtain heat, shelter, food. Im n Scotland where every year we have a standstill due to snow. We have not used technology to solve the problems we face. We allow budgets and politicians to dictate our quality of life and technology.
... if b, c, and d decide to toil 2 percent for society and ground tiller a has to toil 98 percent of his time for society..then right there is why wages and money are used... so ground tiller A get recompense for his percentage of toil so he can relax while b, c, and d will realize with no cash that they must go toil now... without cash and wages... b, c, and d would forget its their turn to toil for the good of society and tan all day long...
... suntanner b, c, and d are Paris Hilton, Brittany Spears and Lindsey Lohan... get the picture... now suddely ground tiller A wants to throw the 3 in jail for not doing their part... but theres no jail in utopia... so now he wants to stone them for being stupid and lazy... but evil thoughts are not allowed in utopia... capitalism is not dead its just coupled with usury which allows b, c, d to live the same way as utopia..wages are for the amount of toil one used to be able to go relax
...a rest and can't keep tilling at the rate they want to live free and tan all day... he tells them its their turn to toil... i mean volunteer... for the good of society... , b, c, and d ask'' i thought the robot did alll the work?'... ground tiller A says it does alot to help but it broke down and robot mechanic E is piloting an underwater craft right now...' could you each volunteer to fix the robot then till the ground.... suddenly b, ,c, d wake up from their sunburnt utopia...
here's why socialist ideas like this dont work.... person B. C,and D go to the organic farm and pick some fresh fruits and veggies then go to the beach to get a tan, pilot underwater craft , and go have fun at the new socialist center in the middle of town... they get back and are hungry so go back to the organic farm but thers no food left... they ask organic tiller A where the food went..organic tiller A says...well he wasnt feeling so good, and has been toiling for soo long that he needs .,.
To talk about it, and organize information about what to do about this project vist vpforums.webs.com Civilization has just begun, we must take on the everlasting responsibility to make it. Look forward to hearing from you in the future.
@xWakizashi But then if theres no money, you have INFINITE funding if you get it. Its a paradox. With a INFINITE ammount of stuff you can do, you have INFINITE incentive, INFINITE everything.
No No, thats wrong. If you have an infinite amount of money, then you dont have an infinite incentive. If you have a trillion dollars right now, would you keep going to work? Of course not. You would buy the most expensive mansion available and live a life of laziness.
There are probably 1% of the world who are naturally curious and inventive. But most inventors came through during hard times to help make money for their family to survive.
@barod1 I dont grasp your meaning. What does contribution have to do with incentives? Did you mean that unless you contribute something, you wont be able to get food and shelter in the country?
@nykidxxx If you dont contribute to society thats your choice, you get everything you want in life. But if you do, theres that feeling that everyone is listening to you and liking your contribution.
@barod1 You provide everyone with the neccessities of life. This frees them from repetive jobs that holds them back. They have the options as to what they want to learn or do with their life.
This is the type of world we should have been living in a long time ago. The problem is taking the world back from those that control the masses and spread fear, hate, and lack. They have already amassed so much wealth that they can do anything they please, and they won't let go of that power easily. Unless the crumbling of power structures are an evolutionary process, I don't see a way out... although I hope there is one.
the americans have no chance in hell of enslaving us, were too smaret on the out side, and seeing that maybe 1/4 americans beleive in the 911 conspiracy, their efforts are totally wasted, cos we all want this, and we can come and get it.
Most things are made from fossil fuels. These pipe dreams are misleading in so many ways. Watch COLLAPSE starring Michael Ruppert and open your eyes. Humans are like birds. We won't fly until we are pushed out of the nest.
@HappyHookerTV You think this fantasy land is possible? Seriously?! I dare you to drive a car or make a phone call or brush your teeth or watch this you tube video without something made or derived from fossil fuels. You CAN'T! Who is going to build and maintain these machines? Who is going to discover and invent new machines? What about illness in this fantasy land? Who is going to bury the dead? Who is going to plant new food?
@billythebrainsoftain And I guess a woman didn't create you, bore you and give you life. It is the woman who are the creators of this world; men are the destructors - look at every war in history. I can't believe what you said. I presume you were hatched.
@HappyHookerTV This video is about total freedom... from EVERYTHING including leadership, women & responsibility. It is illogical! FYI I was born late weighing in at 16lbs11oz. My sister, brother, mother & I were hit by a woman that was driving drunk. Slammed her brain against the left side of her head & put her in a coma. She lost 3/4 of her hearing & I never knew her as a normal person. The womb saved me. Destruction does NOT discriminate when it comes to sex, race, religion or anything else.
The Venis project, or otherwise known as the New World Order agenda. Better yet, it is Lucifers Project. Venus= morning star. Lucifer=Falling morning star. The evil cabal that runs our current world will run the future world. In order to establish the venus project it is admitted that we must start from scratch. This transformation will come from the elimination of many people. The lie always sounds great.
The Venus Project is New Age or spiritually oriented, focusing on the wellbeing of all mankind and the development of each individual’s intellect, ultimately through superior technology.
New World Order is about centralizing power to a few thousand individuals, and essentially enslaving the rest of the population by using technology against the people, to keep us dumbed down and from ever being able rebel against the system.
@droidhunter No confusion. It is not the agenda of new age or the agenda of the new world order that one can conclude that they are one in the same. It is the "spirit" that you spoke of that leads both of them. New agers see the lie of man but not the lie of the spirit that leads both mindsets. We can get into a endless debate about this, but I have concluded that both worship the same. The deception is faith in man to cure mans ill. Mankind is flawed and always will be. We each have our own god
@droidhunter Someones god may be man, money, astrology, esoteric agenda, systems, knowledge, or whatever consumes your mind the most. Each is a god. Each is lead by the same spirit. It is the greatest deception. As for me and my house I worship the G-d who gave all of us Jesus. He forwarned us of all of this. But some are of Cain's lineage. Venus project is nothing new. We simply always say if only?
I don't understand why major corporations wouldn't want to make use of these forms of energy. Why does the monetary system discourage them from doing so? They don't make money from drilling for oil; they make money from giving people products and services they demand. If one could get so much energy from wind, the sun, or the earth without labor and with no worries of lack of abundance, then that just means they have very few expenses. They certainly would help their profit.
@PhoenixAquua2012 arrogance doesn't mean intelligence, but thanks for giving me a better idea of how educated you are. Ignorance doesn't mean stupidity, it means that one lacks knowledge in a specific area(s). Now by you spreading your faith and telling science to stay away, that's not only ignorant and arrogant, it's dangerously stupid.
@christheferal Look here Mr. Chris Morris ....I said your a boy, because you are a boy.
I would think your comment would suggest some type of arrogance by your own admission: "Ive decided to return to blogging because Im simply held back by the education system."
@PhoenixAquua2012 I really don't think you even understand the definition of the word 'arrogance', you keep demonstrating how arrogant you are by referring to me as a 'kid' as if that means that I'm lower n some way.
Ignorance? You mean present day scientific knowledge and probabilities should be left at the door while faith comes in?
What do you mean "your a little boy with a job"? First of all, it's "you're", go back to school.
@PhoenixAquua2012 I used to be Christian until I educated myself about how the world really works. Thank God for science and allow myself to educate myself to see the truth.
@PhoenixAquua2012 Gotta love deliberately misinterpreting what people say *cough*bible and it's rape, incest, genocide*cough*. I don't know if there is a God or not, so I won't say there isn't one, however, I'm pretty damn confident that God isn't the psychopath that the bible says he is (which was hilariously based off the story of Horus).
I'm not one to ridicule others' beliefs, but I should at least say the ideas mentioned in this video skips the mentioning of so many intermediate steps as to be not even remotely relevant to our present situation and circumstances.
Having technology and integrating technology with present day infrastructure while dealing with global power struggles, politics, civil rights, war, etc, etc, etc (i.e. reality), is equivalent to walking by a bank vault containing millions, and have those millions.
The Venus Project can be implimented after the collapse of civilization, which is predicted to be in a few years, once peak oil hits during the great depression. The transition will then begin, and towards the end we will realize that the VP is the only practical way to live on earth for a sustainable period.
I'm not sure you have researched enough the facts of the Venus Project. Your whole thinking is "no longer relevant"...thats the whole point...the things you mention are just that...no longer relevant.
There are 3 stages of truth....Ridicule, violent opposition, then acceptance...currently, including yourself...are in the ridicule stage...2 more to go...
You misunderstand. I'm all for a dignified unification of humanity and the equality of all. I'm just not for the Venus Project.
Let's put it this way: the reason the project is irrelevant is because *it* makes irrelevant so many real problems today. These problems are what I was referring to when I said it skips the mentioning of far too many intermediate steps. I could understand if the Project was more so an encouragement for futurism than claiming to be a panacea.
It's your perception...and those who follow your worldview...the venus project offers a different paradigm, one from which the problems that suffocate your worldview, will no longer be relevant....until you get past your perceptions of being separate, and realize that we are all one, then all those silly "problems" fade away, and are no longer relavant....you must understand, the venus project is not for today, nor tomorrow...it's a must for the future....if humanity is going to survive..
My point about missing intermediate steps is missing you. My general point is that the Venus Project provides an approach so devoid of details as to be an unrepresentative framework of reality. If it's not clear, I recommend you ask a Palestinian Muslim teenager who's deciding between getting revenge or not for the death of loved ones what (s)he thinks of the Venus Project. Beyond the pretty words, how will it be relevant to them let alone help them?
I don't know what Let them let alone help them means?
The world is the way it is because people like you lack the common sense. What details?....everything in this worldview is irrelevant....meaning....religion, money, morals, ethics, muslim teenagers revenge...it's all irrelevant. It just does not matter...if you give all of what the Venus Project suggests, and it's really our only choice...you haven't presented one.....but you really need to read all the material..the answers are there.
I may not have read much on it, but you have already confirmed it for me when you ask "What details?" The Venus Project relies on the slighting of reality; it purports to act the role of panacea at the cost of nullifying important and meaningful realities of real live humans. It trumps the human condition. You don't seem to understand the simple fact that these supposed "irrelevant" details are what define lives. There is no future for a movement that does not respect the present.
- Peace? You throw around that word like loose change rolling of your tongue, but what does buy?
The highest form of ignorance is discounting or dismissing something that you know nothing about....by your own admission.
One day you will get to the better viewing area where we all sit waiting....you too, will see the whole picture....right now, your behind a very tall wall (the veil)....I've risen you upon my shoulders to show you a peak over the fence...we all get there sooner or later
to get the whole picture you need to come to me not JF that is pointing backwards to the future from 1930 and all they that made the real projects he just copied! They even offer cash! he asked for cash as opposite and LOOK it is Buckminister fuller himself! And manly P hall and Jules Verne.. I have the TOOL he tool mankind has been looking for ever since the garden of eden story was first told.
@PhoenixAquua2012 too bad what he showed you is a hitler ralley call against Christians same as hitler against jews...not only is he s dunce when it comes to religions but he is SATANIC and hate 4 out of 5 humans on the planet with plans to FORCE them to be Atheist... so he calls for a world war you fools!
only a fool think we jump all safe with JF con job. HOW? 40 years people asked him how and he can't answer! All he does it repeat the scriptures and they that studied them from 1930 and it is all over his work to prove it over and over that he is a knock off fake of the cure promiseed for this time that now exposes his efforts as a scam to make money or he would of gave his work away not sold it at double the price of others.
it seems to me like your having some problem with the "how do we get there" question. Some where in the middle or end of this interview with JF should help I hope. Look up some of his lectures. I dont know about 40 years but he seems to be answering now :/
I have ZERO problems but you lie and he has zero answers including zday where he only hates god and christian like Hitler call. he has no answers! 40 years and now included for when he was asked on march 13th 2010 he wanted to make a more entertaining movie as an answer...stop lying! he is con man!
only i offer that! JF does not offer you that! he offers you a pie in the sky future with out a single step how to get there or how it can work correctly as all he show is opposite of what he say like rich and poor as have and have not in his models where fantastic rich and slums for the rest in concrete geo thermal? NOT makes earthquakes and uses too much water..goes on and on and on and on. Come see how the cure for evil from God eats all others and solves everything!
correct! But come to my channel and see the real template and how you can use it right away and do all them things his whole project can't even start with but repeat scripture then claim Atheists. Yes the whole scriptures are about a city to do exactly what he say his would do but we know it can't and only mine can in any age past present or future.
The cattle will live in monitored communities, and they will be selected what job they will do to serve the Illuminated Demi-god masters. There will be no private property, and all cattle will beg for essentials, and if they act like the animals they are, they their chip will be turned off, and they will be banished from the Illuminati system. All education will be manipulated to make them love their servitude, and they will fight each other like animals, as barbanic the savage show.
The Venus Project, yes, this is the New World Order. Global communism, is the New World Order. We must kill 95 percent of the population, so we can balance the natural order once, again, so we can setup a new world, where science, and technology leads. The robots will replace the majority of the cattle, and the rest will be micro-chipped, and all delusions will be removed from the weak. If cattle get out of line, they will be destroyed, as the useless pawns they are.
We all need a NWO, unlike whats mentioned above....that is the blue pill....but most of you are awakened enough to see that you must choose the blue.....right now, the above is already here...but it can change, and it will...no doubt...you can't keep the light out...Peace

This work could of been a reality in the 1950 or 1960, Why was it not done ?
The introduction of TV has limited the spread of the most advanced applicable technology available.
Just like (Nikola Tesla) that started the AC electrification of the world in 1895 on Niagara-Falls.
We do not hear about (Tesla) because he proved that electricity can be free around the world.
The Venus Project is not on main stream media because a Resource Based Economy is talked about and also sounds so sane.

Who decides what resources are used for what things?Who decides who lives where and what type of dwelling they have? There are many things about TVP that won't make it work. Some people will have more power than ANY ONE today has. Since TVP controls EVERY aspect of your life

erasmusso 6 months ago
This is wrong on a number of technical points. For example, the notion that we no longer need to burn fossil fuels. I really wish that this were true, but it simply isn't the case yet. To even change our energy infrastructure over will take huge amounts of fossil fuel, and there's simply no avoiding it in any direction we turn. Once humanity gets nanotech working on large scale then the Venus Project can be considered, but not until, and not on Earth given the politics of the place.

the venus project could have been a better project if it would have tackled a much more important issues than just a cool futuristic cities etc..
-Talk about how out of control humans are when it comes to breeding and how important it is that we NEED to follow a one child policy, not only in China but all over the world. Most people are numbers and have zero quality. Also there should be selective breeding to increase the number of smart and talented people.
HeilNizar 10 months ago
@HeilNizar One child policies are irrelevent without first tackling sustainabilty issues. Even if we maintained current population, without addressing sustainabilty issues, our society would still be rife with the same problems we see today. Also, the improved environment would naturally increase what we call smart and talented people because stress free and positive environments allow more positive personal development

My main problem with the Venus Project: it's a sterile world, and art cannot exist with such sterility. It would be a cultural wasteland! You cannot put the creative imagination into such a sterile environment. My opinion anyway, based on my own experience. I would surely be a misfit in a world like that.

jtyson859 10 months ago
@looterish On the contrary, in a world where people can actually do what they desire and are not hindered by boring, monotonous jobs, creativity and diversity would flourish. Jaque Fresco said himself that people of the future would design their own cities and I believe that to be true. His design is just that, his design. I see great diversity in each city in a RBE, and individual people would be far more artistic and intelligent than today.
MilesTyson 10 months ago
@MilesTyson I sincerely hope you're right. It's a truly wonderful world envisioned in the Venus Project, but there always seems to be a dark side to every coin (pun definitely intended) where human behavior is concerned. It's that dark side where our creativity takes on the potency of art. To continue the "coin" pun, I wonder what will happen to our imaginations in a world where "coinage" is irrelevant.
looterish 10 months ago
@looterish @looterish sterile? theres no ban on art in this idea. just free art supplies for anyone who wants to use them. The fact that anyone could access any type of art/music equipment they need w.o money being a factor would probably lead to a huge increase in creativity and expression. Please explain what you mean by sterile.
chard950 9 months ago
@chard950 well, sterile as in squeaky clean, everything modular, everything circumscribed by geometric design. Besides, don't we already have this modular paradigm in office buildings, hospitals, prisons, shopping malls, apartment high-rises which have become known as "projects" and usually represent poverty and general contempt for the "modular" environment, cruise ships, hotels etc.? These already characterize our environment, but they are not places I would like to call my "home."

@zestysteve1 Recycling? Recycling? Aluminium/aluminum requires so much energy to be extracted from bauxite that ALCOA transports bauxite to Iceland where the electricity is cheaper and then re-imports the aluminium. @MacabreManifesto The Venus Project: Marxism + teenage sci-fi. Can grown adults really take this bullshit seriously?
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution I wouldn't call it Marxism. Marxism relies on scarcity, technocracy (The Venus Project) relies on abundance. I believe in technocracy, we should all strive to achieve total possible automation with our technology. Once we PROVE that everything can be automated (except for ideas, art, entertainment) we should establish technocracy. Until then we should stay in capitalism, much more regulated though because it does in fact cause problems when allowed to run rampant.
MacabreManifesto 1 year ago
@MacabreManifesto I'm afraid scarcity is the norm; this whappy Utopian idea is based on the premise that we can essentially wish think abundance into being. Markets are the best way to regulate how the few resources we have available can be best utilized. For example all that oil sitting under Persia was of no value until the capitalists, in the form of BP came to utilize it. And the Iranians and other Middle eastern states could only use that resource by stealing what we made for them.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution I guess what I'm saying is resources aren't enough. "Resources" on their own are worthless. Would the world be a better place tomorrow if we destroyed every private oil trading and refining corporation and instead gave every person in the world a barrel of crude oil? You see my point? And all this nonsense about maglev trains under the ocean that will never need to be repaired in a society with no store of value (no money) is the stuff of very poor quality sci-fi.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution We don't need to use oil. Not just because The Venus Project assures it in Zeitgeist. The fact is that it is possible to get out of the oil rut. It's just very expensive, much more expensive than using oil at the moment. However, at one point (before peak oil) oil will become more expensive than alternatives. Our change from an oil based economy at that point could fuck us up immensely. Energy that our technology (utilized or not) has access to is abundant, and will last...
MacabreManifesto 1 year ago
@MacabreManifesto ...until the sun fizzles out in millions of years. Another thing that requires abundance is elements. We can recycle all of our elements, especially if we had access to tons of renewable energy. Food? We don't even NEED arable land anymore. Everything can be done 100% organic hydroponic/aeroponically in tall buildings. The ONLY downside I've ever heard from the experts about vertical farming is THE COST. But that goes away with non-monetary system. everything is potentially...
MacabreManifesto 1 year ago
@MacabreManifesto ...abundant, except MAYBE automation. We must check and see if we can automate what we haven't automated yet (btw we have developed automated farming, its just very new and hasn't been applied yet. And if it was is could devastate the society we have now)
MacabreManifesto 1 year ago
@MacabreManifesto Capitalist economics is not based upon need; we use oil, or rather the products of cracking the oil, because it's the cheapest fuel at the moment. "Peak oil" has being going to occur every year for the last century too. And do you have any idea how many products are made from petroleum? Try making a plastic bag from corn... People who prattle on about need and "peak oil" need to retake economics 101 and learn a bit more about the petroleum industry.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution So, what? Oil is going to last forever? Granted, there have been lots of false alarms about peak oil, but we know that it's eventually going to come, and it's grossly irresponsible to not do anything about it when our current economy is based on massive use of energy reserves that won't last forever, even if it will last for another century. I know that capitalism isn't about what we need, it's about what is the most profitable. That's one of the problems with it.
MacabreManifesto 1 year ago
@MacabreManifesto That is what is right about it. The law of supply and demand and a market based upon that principle free from top down control backed by the guns and bombs of government which, let's not forget, maintains a monopoly on force, is what gives us the standard of living we in semi-capitalist countries take for granted. When oil truly does reach a low supply (when peak oil really does occur) the law of supply and demand will drive capitalist innovators to replace it, not until.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution So, you think that the ONLY way for a country to provide it's citizens with a good standard of living, is to be a hegemony?
MacabreManifesto 1 year ago
@MacabreManifesto No, I don't believe that a country can or should provide people with a high standard of living; that is for the individual to achieve. Look around the world today and throughout history: the extent of people's success is the extent to which they have been left alone, the extent of their misery is the extent to which those with the swords and guns have controlled them, usually in the name of helping them (such as the >100,000,000 who died at the hands of communist governments).
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution But those were in the days of scarcity. If our current level of technology can provide everyone with more renewable resources/energy, and automation than they need or want (to a reasonable extent, you can't really eliminate scarcity if someone wants an absurd amount of stuff) then we should tap into that technology and eliminate the need to work. Of course we need some hard data that says we're actually there, and if not we should work towards it in regulated capitalism.
MacabreManifesto 1 year ago
@MacabreManifesto But that comes back to what I'd call "spotty teenage technology" liberally sprinkled with a layer of you fail economics forever. Economic just. Doesn't. Work that way. People will not build gigantic structures out of memory metal, which is not cheap by the way, in a society without money and there is no way to build self-maintaining, self-repairing robots that will magically bring non existent resources into existence.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution Memory metal is a titanium nickel alloy, if there was enough titanium and nickel in the earth (and in asteroids in our solar system once we achieve that level of technology) then we'd have plenty. There is plenty of both, but I know for a fact that titanium takes a lot of energy to extract from ore, which is solved by unlimited energy. And that's what the Earth wide survey is for, see what we have and then plan using that.
MacabreManifesto 1 year ago
@MacabreManifesto Do you know what American aerospace engineers called titanium during the cold war? Unobtanium. Granted, that was because most of it was in Soviet owned countries, but titanium is still a semi-rare metal (hence its high price). I'll say again what I've said before: you can't wish think the non-existent into existence. And you certainly can't have an unlimited supply of energy. What next, perpetual motion machines?
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution Not unlimited, but we could access far more energy than we do today if we invested heavily in alternatives using our money and/or resources. By the way, titanium is one of the most common metals on earth, unfortunately it is more spread out across the earth and thus much harder to mine. If there wasn't enough titanium, we could use other stuff!
MacabreManifesto 1 year ago
@MacabreManifesto That is why the Venus Project reeks to high heaven of Marxism to me: it promises a utopia of unlimited abundance in this world of scarcity in a society with no rules, no values and above all no work. Even if such a utopia was possible, magical self-maintaining robots, undersea maglav trains and all, I don't think I'd want to live in that world.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
Yes Yes, This is great, a perfect plan for Utopia!!! Or isit?
Yes Yes its a plan, a great IDEAL plan. Not practicable. It is human nature that stops us from following that plan. Ever heard of the 7 deadly sins? Those are the seven flaws of humanity that prevents us from creating a utopia. Greed, Jealousy, Lust, Gluttony, Wrath, Pride, and Sloth. If you wish to creat a utopia, you can follow the book, "Brave New World". But if you have ever read it, you will realize that Utopia is impossible.

BendoverBernanke 1 year ago
@BendoverBernanke You must not confuse New Age for New world Order.
The Venus Project is New Age or spiritually oriented, focusing on the wellbeing of all mankind and the development of each individual’s intellect, ultimately through superior technology.
New World Order is about centralizing power to a few thousand individuals, and essentially enslaving the rest of the population by using technology against the people, to keep us dumbed down and from ever being able rebel against the system.
droidhunter 1 year ago
@droidhunter No confusion. It is not the agenda of new age or the agenda of the new world order that one can conclude that they are one in the same. It is the "spirit" that you spoke of that leads both of them. New agers see the lie of man but not the lie of the spirit that leads both mindsets. We can get into a endless debate about this, but I have concluded that both worship the same. The deception is faith in man to cure mans ill. Mankind is flawed and always will be. We each have our own god
BendoverBernanke 1 year ago
@droidhunter Someones god may be man, money, astrology, esoteric agenda, systems, knowledge, or whatever consumes your mind the most. Each is a god. Each is lead by the same spirit.

Correct. This is the 1-line Lie at the heart of the VP speel.
Profit Motive for every individual in the chain creates energy efficiency.
Only the oil-man makes money from oil; every one else makes MORE money by using LESS oil.
IMO our economic crisis is because other energy sources *can't* match oil. If they could, profit would just smoothly transition to wind, solat etc.

The transition will then begin, and towards the end we will realize that the VP is the only practical way to live on earth for a sustainable period.
michaelencarnacion 2 years ago
I'm not sure you have researched enough the facts of the Venus Project. Your whole thinking is "no longer relevant"...thats the whole point...the things you mention are just that...no longer relevant.
There are 3 stages of truth....Ridicule, violent opposition, then acceptance...currently, including yourself...are in the ridicule stage...2 more to go...
Arise from the Illusion
PhoenixAquua2012 2 years ago
You misunderstand. I'm all for a dignified unification of humanity and the equality of all. I'm just not for the Venus Project.
Let's put it this way: the reason the project is irrelevant is because *it* makes irrelevant so many real problems today. These problems are what I was referring to when I said it skips the mentioning of far too many intermediate steps. I could understand if the Project was more so an encouragement for futurism than claiming to be a panacea.
namaan123 2 years ago
It's your perception...and those who follow your worldview...the venus project offers a different paradigm, one from which the problems that suffocate your worldview, will no longer be relevant....until you get past your perceptions of being separate, and realize that we are all one, then all those silly "problems" fade away, and are no longer relavant....you must understand, the venus project is not for today, nor tomorrow...it's a must for the future....if humanity is going to survive..
PhoenixAquua2012 2 years ago
My point about missing intermediate steps is missing you. My general point is that the Venus Project provides an approach so devoid of details as to be an unrepresentative framework of reality. If it's not clear, I recommend you ask a Palestinian Muslim teenager who's deciding between getting revenge or not for the death of loved ones what (s)he thinks of the Venus Project. Beyond the pretty words, how will it be relevant to them let alone help them?
Robots are silent on human politics...
namaan123 2 years ago 2
I don't know what Let them let alone help them means?
The world is the way it is because people like you lack the common sense. What details?....everything in this worldview is irrelevant....meaning....religion, money, morals, ethics, muslim teenagers revenge...it's all irrelevant. It just does not matter...if you give all of what the Venus Project suggests, and it's really our only choice...you haven't presented one.....but you really need to read all the material..the answers are there.
PhoenixAquua2012 2 years ago
I may not have read much on it, but you have already confirmed it for me when you ask "What details?" The Venus Project relies on the slighting of reality; it purports to act the role of panacea at the cost of nullifying important and meaningful realities of real live humans. It trumps the human condition. You don't seem to understand the simple fact that these supposed "irrelevant" details are what define lives. There is no future for a movement that does not respect the present.
Peace

PhoenixAquua2012 2 years ago
@PhoenixAquua2012
to get the whole picture you need to come to me not JF that is pointing backwards to the future from 1930 and all they that made the real projects he just copied!

@PhoenixAquua2012
only a fool think we jump all safe with JF con job.
Peterwhitlock 1 year ago
it seems to me like your having some problem with the "how do we get there" question. Some where in the middle or end of this interview with JF should help I hope. Look up some of his lectures. I dont know about 40 years but he seems to be answering now :/
Noxol101 1 year ago
@Noxol101
I have ZERO problems but you lie and he has zero answers including zday where he only hates god and christian like Hitler call. he has no answers! 40 years and now included for when he was asked on march 13th 2010 he wanted to make a more entertaining movie as an answer...stop lying! he is con man!
Peterwhitlock 1 year ago
Its obvious you don't understand The Zeitgeist Movement. The reason why nobody gives a shit is because nobody's got shit.
We will in a world that limits all resources and perpetuates a mind set that "there's not enough to go around".
There is enough and the awareness of that will transform as it spreads throughout the population. Power In Numbers
socratiz 1 year ago
@socratiz
only i offer that!
Peterwhitlock 1 year ago
@namaan123

NWOSupporter2012 2 years ago
The Venus Project, yes, this is the New World Order. Global communism, is the New World Order. We must kill 95 percent of the population, so we can balance the natural order once, again, so we can setup a new world, where science, and technology leads. The robots will replace the majority of the cattle, and the rest will be micro-chipped, and all delusions will be removed from the weak. If cattle get out of line, they will be destroyed, as the useless pawns they are.
NWOSupporter2012 2 years ago
We all need a NWO, unlike whats mentioned above....that is the blue pill....but most of you are awakened enough to see that you must choose the blue.....right now, the above is already here...but it can change, and it will...no doubt...you can't keep the light out...Peace
