i got question i dj so ??on the kp3 can you use the effects to blend in your songs while you spin or to bring in a song or start up to a new song and use a effect at the same time ,an also can use the effects while you dj on your songs ?!?!?!? thanks please someone replyyy !!![::
i cant figure out how to get my kp3 to loop the sample...ive tried doing the thing with the shift button but it doesnt seem to be working...they are all still green and i have to hold the button to loop...what should i do???
@owenpaulstory When you sample, dont hit the bank btn, let it sample until the end. Or You can change the trigger mode for each bank. Do SHIFT + A (if you wanna loop bank A). Then push the program selector to display something like 3-.r maybe. Turn the programm button until 1-.- is on the display.
hey ther how did you make a the sample loop ? if you let the sampling play for the full 8 bars it loops automatically but how do you make a short sample like your B loop ? please answer it would really help alot thank you . also . GREAT JOB !!!
@ihategordonstoun I don't have it in front of me but I think you can loop 4 bars. If not then you loop for 8 bars and then turn off any number of segments using 8 buttons on top. So if you record 8 bar loop, you can make it 4 bar long or even 2 bars, or 1 :) I show how to do this in my next KP3 tutorial, check out my videos it's there...
nice, you look like you like to play a lot with the kp3. i just bought mines and im totally lost, the booklet is totally useless. but im looking for some more tutorials or maybe a book cause this shit is nice but lacks demos and ideas for guys like me.
All number buttons have multiple functions. They do select effect or they can be used to perform other functions like saving loop to memory card (i.e. hold shift and press 1 to see card information)
Loop can be up to 16 beats long. It can be 4 beats, or 8 beats or 16 beats. Timewise it depends on the BPM (Beats per minute) of the song you are sampling. Is that what you were asking?
Damn sick........ I didd'n know you could sample right off the web. I've had one for a while now and I still haven't installed the software. I wonder If it works with Reason?
@no1andevery1atonce Thanks! You don't need software to sample, just use any line in audio source (computer, TV, radio, iPod, etc.). I never used it as a MIDI controller tho but I think it should work in Reason...
im looking for the cheapest (closest to free) korg kp3 out there cause my family is having major health and money issues and im trying to find one or two so i can go get into competitions for beatbox looping n shit like that. so if someone could help thatd be cool as hell.
Hey Bratan. Looking to get one of these within the next few days. was just wondering how easy you found this to use because im a starting DJ and although have got decks and had them for a while i was curious to know how long it took you to get the basics down?....p.s great vid like the samples LOL
@dawkinsweaponx Thanks! :) It's super easy to use it, but might take some getting used to. Just go thru all the FX first to get a feel of what they do. Then try sampling songs and create loops. This will be somewhat challenging at first, but remember to always set correct BPM otherwise you'll never create seamless loop. I guess the most difficult part is using it in live performances. Like with DJing you need to feel the flow of the music, know when to apply effect, etc.
@bratan007 Thanks pal ! went to look at one today which was great becuase i got to actually hold it and try a few functions rather than just watching everyone else have all the fun on here lol. It seems like as you said something that just takes getting used to much like a trial and eror scenario but yeah i;d like to use it live but probably worth getting the fundamentals down before i show anyone lmao :) Thanks again
Awesome vid! I have a couple questions: if you don't have speakers or amps, could you still use the Kaoss Pad just with headphones plugged in? Also, can you upload your remixed tracks to the computer, or is it on on-the-spot sort of thing?
@CrazedSquirrel Thanks man! Yeah headphones will work just fine. I believe you can record your mix (or just samples) to the SD Card, which you can copy to PC later. Not 100% sure tho..
Quick question>>>....I'm assuming you CAN import any type of sounds/samples into this machine????, cuz the word going round is that its only a " pre-set" machine...however those samples of the weatherman an shit YOU put in yourself>>>????
You can capture ANY sound coming in from the line input. If you are talking about using editor software that comes with KP3 I believe you can import any WAV sample into it and then transmit via USB. The only thing you can't really change are preset Sound Effects that will be applied to your audio, but you are free to use any audio source as samples :)
Hey Bratan, i'm looking to get the kp3 also, sweet machine! question: Can you record loops from the Mic input? if not could you connect a mic or instrument directly to the line input and record loops?
what I want to do: while having the kp3 hooked up to to my laptop (so bpm data stays in sync on the kp3 ) I want to be able to record and loop a mic'd instrument live while mixing.

You can record samples from Mic input, but not at the same time as from Line In. You have to throw a switch to either use one or another.
