  • your vids are all great but this one was exceptional!!!!

  • Very cool and useful video. Thanx Dom

  • WOW this video hasn't appeared in my subscription box but AWSOME THOUGH

  • Dom, Thanks for the video. It didnt look like the camera on the flash shoe was in commander mode. Was it? If not, now did you trigger the other flashes? If so, why wouldnt you set the other flashes from the camera?

  • @tlm1028yt no it was not in commander, nor was the flash, i just hadd the flashes on SU4 mode, where no cls work is done and they just fire when they see a flash from another place. Didnt set it on the camer because it was just quicker for me doing it this way, if my flahses were far away i would use the cls

  • Loved the stuck pause when you tried to think of cool things to take photo's of using this kind of set up......showing your age there mate,...the kids would have listed off countless examples.

    Great video us usual, thanks.

  • @kingjon81 damn those pesky kids!

  • Hey Dom Does the extra battery pack for the SB-800 make any diff to when it gives up?.

  • DOM - you are the man!!!!! What was the song in the beginning of the video? - That Nikon has sick fps... Good to see another video from you, I was starting to wonder what you were up to over yonder.

  • you can get the recycling time faster with a external battery.. btw CHASE JARVIS FTW

  • Thanks. Can't wait to try this.

  • Decent. I did not know you could do this. Thanks!

  • Do you have to have an external flash on the camera to do this? Or can you do it with one flash (sb-900) and no camera flash?

Pardon my bad english, i hope you understood :P

  • you need an external flash on the camera, that is what the video shows, you can also have your sb900 set up on the camera as a commander flash where its flash of light is not affecting the image taken and only the flash from the external flashes is shown.

  • Thanks for taking the time to answer :) Can you do this wirelessly or does the flash have to be mounted on the camra? I´m thinking about buying and SB-900 since i do a lot of skateboard photos and it´s good to have a wireless repeating flash.

  • you will need some form of wireless transmitter like a pocket wizard. to do that, but they cost a bit

  • Alright. I guess it´s cheaper to just buy 2 SB-900´s then :)

Really appriciate that you took the time to answer! Your vidoes are very informative so keep posting them :)

  • @Aaseenn well you have to have a d90 and up to have commander mode if you do message me and ill tell you all about it

  • Cool video... I also follow Chase Jarvis and his work. Im looking forward to getting some flash guns for my Canon DSLR next year.

  • I love chase jarvis to :)

  • can decrease the flash power to 1/32 and increase the iso two stops in this case

  • Can you not have the SB-900 on the camera as a master flash and control everything from the flash instead of going to each flash and changing them manually?

  • yes
