However, you are right that they were doing something they were explicitly warned would not be tolerated: setting up encampments. While I support the movement, I have mixed feelings about their insistence on camping there. I also have mixed feelings about whether setting up there and not, say, the UC Regents office in SF will be very effective. But it isn't the cops' job to assault nonviolent kids. Anything else?

Also, other students' and faculty's rights weren't being violated. Classes continued as usual. I know because I was on campus when this video was taped and didn't even know it was happening. And they won't be able to "thank their lucky stars" next year if the Regents raise tuition the originally proposed 81%, which inspired the protest.
