there are some songs - like this one - that when you listen to them, they overwhelm you in a very likeable way.. I love this song! It is powerful & emotional - like it was intended to be - such a 'masterpiece'! Just to give an idea of a similar song that I loved in the same way, it is Gardenian - Funeral
Why won't you come? Why won't you come? / As she is dying in the snow The moonlight silently glows Her tears flow down her cheek When snow falls from the trees / I'll wait there forevermore The light holds us forever more Still one second I wouldn't give away Cold winter nights, I cry on your grave Why won't you come? Why won't you come?
OMFG JUST FOUNd LYRICS! Had been bugging me for ages:
Ok here are the lyrics finally. I got them from the fan club forums: "Now I'm a grey old ghost Weeping in winter trees And searching for a soul Waiting for a voice to come / She was worth dying for It is my severed woes I cry Her eyes were pale like dawn Out of this gloomy light / I'll wait there forevermore The light holds us forever more Still one second I wouldn't give away Cold winter nights, I cry on your grave...
Who gives a shit about the lyrics? I actually like when I can't understand what he's saying. It adds more depth to the song and allows you to appreciate everything in it (for me, anyway).
@guitarwar241 Not neccesarily dude...I didn't really like this type of music at first..but when you get used to the vocals and can hear what they're saying its much better, in my opinion at least :P

It takes time to get used to growling vocals but once you do you realize they are an essential element. I used to hate them too but now really like em'
Yeah, death metal vocals aren't exactly the easiest to understand. I just love the atmosphere of this song; the vocals are just an additional layer adding to it.
Exactly. People just don't understand this about metal music, or ambient black metal, or anything else really. The vocals are another instrument. Look up the lyrics if it matters that much.
Seriously, I've only been able to find 2 lines from the song. Though I do understand one part fairly clearly. "She's worth dying...fooooor" that's about it though.
@ninjagod1337: I could not disagree more. The lyrics make this song. They are so touching and emotional. To call them "just an additional layer" is to cheat yourself.

As she is dying in the snow
The moonlight silently glows
Her tears flow by her cheek
When snow falls from the trees
I'll wait there forevermore
The light holds us forever more
Still one second I wouldn't give away
Cold winter nights, I cry on your grave
Why won't you come?

for me finding lyrics to a song makes it less symbolic; its fine the way you here it the first time.

@MachineGunnerDrummer Except it's nearly impossible to find lyrics to this song, haha.

Touche. I'd never attempted to find them before. Maybe they're supposed to be a secret.
