I used to have the 410 Hot Rod DeVille with real Fender spring reverb and it didn't clank and pop like this. I want a reverb pedal for my Marshall head, and I loved the reverb in my Fender DeVille, but it didn't clank and bounce around like this sounds.
@rkharper Cus I didn't really like the Fender amp sound, but loved the reverb. I want to get a pedal to do that type of verb for my Marshall tube head with no verb, but all the spring model pedals obnoxiously clank, pop, and bounce a lot more than the real amp verbs do.
I own one and even though it's an improvement over previous boss stuff, I still think it leaves a lot to be desired and fell short of my expectations.
Thanks for actually using the reverb at a high level...this will work much better than my unreliable holy grail which craps out all the time. I play out of Fender Bassman reissue amp and it's dry but I play psych surf grungey drone stuff so I need reverb!!!!!
The built in reverb on the amps are nothing like the stand alone unit.....You can make adjustments on the unit where on the amp you can only turn it up. Hope this helps ya.
Thanks for the demo. I got this pedal for an old tube amp & it works great - very natural sounding, much better than the RV5 (which has some good sounds, but the "spring" is crummy).
AGRRED, the Boss RV series aren't shit compared to the FRV-1. i mean for god's sake man, this reverb actually has a character and liveliness of it's own. not to mention that the RV series are to quiet and this reverb is perfect in it's volume. very realistic, not quite the same as the actual 63 verb but that doesn't mean it doesn't sound 100% exactly like tube-driven reverb, it totally sounds tube'y just a little different than the 63' verb unit =]
thank you. wellif you really want to play serious surf guitar, this unit wont suffice your needs (speaking: in the studio) but I guess live is a completely different thing. I will use this Reverb in my outlaw country thrash band with my 6-string jerry jones bass, I have to see, how it will sound. I used the digiverb spring setting till now.
this is a Burns Cobra. I love burns guitars, and when I held this one the first time in my hands , I couldnt believe how GOOD it felt, compared to all new fenders out there, and it really sounds killer, and you know what? It isn't expensive too!
Thanks! Nice demo of the cool sounds this pedal can produce.

To start the processor to simulate a real tube sound, and then a rubber woman.

How would this pedal compare to the other boss reverbs, such as the '65 deluxe or the normal RV-5 digital reverb?
aigmeyer 6 months ago
My friend has this and it pops and squeals if you have the dials up too high, I think that the dwell was a touchy one.

I see that you've a wonderful Fender super reverb amp. Why you don't use the built in reverb from that amp?

Finally a surf demo!!! Thank you. How do you like it compared to your amps reverb?
muchoelectro 2 years ago
would've been great if you compare it to you amps reverb, just so that we can hear the difference from the REAL reverb ;)
