  • the book was so good i read it in 3 weeks :) thank you for sharing!!!!

  • We live in Igloos in Canada and there is nothing to see here for Americans..., we have nothing and know nothing and we're socialists with a mean taste for everything that's communist. We believe religions should be banned and our only prayer at meals is: Keep it coming you bearded goon! David, stop making Canada so attractive, we have enough pollution here!

  • Happy 75th Birthday, Dr. Suzuki :)

You are one of our National treasures :D

  • David is such an intelligent, insightful and seemingly genuine individual. I always enjoyed watching him on "Nature" and miss seeing him in that role. I really liked hearing his thoughts and insights in this video. Thanks so much for posting it!

  • 4:20

He is a handsome man :)

  • @ReasonGuysCopyright

He did pose wearing nothing but a fig leaf.

  • " Don't run after the money" - my parents told me too:) That's Japanese thinking that most important thing is not money. " You cannot bring money to your grave", my mom used to tell me. David's talking is so cozy.. Thanks for sharing your story..

  • His daughter's work is awesome too. No surprise she is like her dad.

  • even though david had a really hard life in canada (and lost his parents too? thy were shipped to Hiroshima and then got bombed by the americans?) because of the war of usa, germany and japan. I can tell he loves Canada sooo much,

  • i can not believe he is 70! wow!

  • This guy knows what his talking about and have great experienced a lot. What if scientist have already reached the tip of their limits when it comes to discovery? Or is there still new discovery to be found? Also if human did unfold everything how would our society look like then in that generation? For example how would our jobs och culture look like? To drive us to create something new is what keep us going?

  • I think ya look beautiful man, I wish I were Japanese, then none of these hypocrats could tell when Im stoned : )))

  • i did him for a project you had to pick your favourite famous canadian and of course i picked him he's awesome!!!

  • Yes - sure is lovely to hear the voice of sanity in an insane world.

  • I remember watching Suzuki's show back in the 80's. He's one of the greats.

  • @raddeejay

He sure is. Observing nature and scientific study have always been a part of my life.

David Suzuki was there comming over the waves on PBS and enriching what I was learning on my own, and presenting these important topics with thoughfulness, respect and intelligence. Thanks Man!

  • Can't wait to read this book.

  • Doesn't the doubt issue with Global Warming from the US come from the fact that there are conflicting interests?

  • Its calming to just listen to this, I learn so much, and I feel beter.

  • Interesting. Yep, there's a lot more variable connectivity in the real world..

We can create a software simulated model of the effect of increased green house gases. Livestock + abuse_of_genetix = animals_suffering. A lot of very exciting and interesting subjex - I'll hafta grab the book.

  • David, you look good. We love you.

  • this man completes me.

  • Carl Sagan, David Suzuki and James Burke. My favorite unholy trinity. :-)

  • He has a way to say things that don't sound lecturing like a radical nut.

I grew up with him on the CBC and the nature of things was interesting but boring at the time

I find he's definately a respected icon and should be....

  • Thank God for this man! When will the american christians realize that they can worship God AND provide stewardship for this planet? Why is it that american christians feel that plundering the earth and corporate interests are intertwine with their religious beliefs?

  • For williamstdog9: Very important question you asked. Not too many people are asking this question. I wrote a paper about this issue. You can have it if you want it, just send me your email address. I am an animal rights and environmental activist. I will keep your email address safe.

  • I thought David was a wise man...still do but he gave up his family for the lab? How long did that last? I guess he wised up and got out of the lab and found his family again. Anyway, Suzuki is an intellectual and I enjoy his teachings and writing very much. I hope he lives another 20 years and writes more books for the coming generations to enjoy.

  • I seen David speak last week at Mount Royal College in Calgary. He is a very inspirational speaker. He is a living legend. If you ever get the chance to see him speak I highly recommend attending.

  • science is not a religion!!!! it is truth by our observation; whereas, religious doctrines are truths by our BELIEFS. Which should you trust? Belief is a kind of truth... that is not yet, wholely true. observation and measurement--everybody learned to trust in it since the birth of existence. I want to thank David Suzuki for his works and his telling of the truths that many have not learned.

  • David Suzuki > Al Gore

  • @LeafsFan120 David Suzuki > Chuck Norris.

  • I saw David last night at Princeton University in New Jersey. What a charismatic, inspirational man.

  • Thanks david suzuki u rock

  • Highly inspirational and motivating man who has helped spawn a new revolution of the utmost importance for current and future generation prosperity. Spread knowledge.

  • David Suzuki lives a life with exuberance -- excitement, curiousity, discovery, teaching, joy.

He is a great role model in this way.

  • As a child, I watched "The nature of things" and learned the scientific method from Dr Suzuki and brought that microscope everywhere I was in the world.

  • His book nammed "sacred equilibrum" made the differecne for me.. it set my mind up with what to do with my mind.. i'm going in ecology.. to learn the more that i can and then teach the kid from countries that have a lack of education and institution..

  • i,ve admired mr.suzuki for many years.....he literally glows for a man of 70.

  • David Suzuki is a role model for all peoples.

  • OMG I seen this guy like close up, it was so cool.

  • Suzuki, you make me proud to be Canadian. Thank you for your compassion and contribution to, not just Canada, but the global community.

  • He's RIGHT!

  • i meant to rate it a 5 but hit 3 instead, darn !! david suzuki is one of canada's environmental heroes, no doubt. thanks for this.

  • David Suzuki is an outstanding individual who makes me proud to be Canadian

  • Davids words are the key to our future or lack of it. David is our hero!

  • A man who has done so much for our world ... he is a true inspiration and his words should be heeded.
