This was a great prospective, I am currently doing research on educational policies as they affect students during and after Hurricanes and this was a great way to share the psychological stress that children have.
Thank you for sharing this perspective with us...we know what the adults have said..this helped me remember that these are the children who will grow up as children of the storm.
I can't understand why the Government isn't rebuilding the 9th ward. I wonder if it is because it was the ghetto and mostly minority. These children may seem normal, but they are going to need counseling to help them deal with all of this.
God bless Katrina victims and let's keep up donating what we all can! We have to put ourselves in their shoes and do what we would want someone else to do for us.
These children will be in their seventies and still experiencing the effects of Katrina. That event was every bit as devastating to these communities as the dust bowl or great depression were. The resilience we see here is a powerful thing.
Hang in there kids, you are doing a great job rebuilding. Keep working hard and don't let America forget the the US Goverment does not care about you.
God bless you young ones; keep ya heads up.
