Why do I think this is...wrong? The baby tigers have a perfectly good mother, but she is not nursing them. Same with the pigs. Tiger milk is not meant for piglets, and pig milk is not meant for tiger cubs.

since tigers are still hunted in asia, I think it's okay, to raise some generations that way. I don't think, tigers can lose their wild instinct that fast. Even domesticated cats and dogs can turn wild again if they are deserted by their human keepers.

Milk is mostly sugar & fat, so babies of most species can break it down easily. Too rich in fat or sugar may not sit well with some species babies, but on average, milk is milk. The problem with Asians, in general is, they still live & belief like the days of the ancient Romans, where animals were more like public spectacles; there's very little standard, gov't oversight regulations for animal husbandry. Both citizens and leaders seem to be okay with that.
This video actually made me really sad... I know they are raising tiger numbers (even though thats the place most tigers are killed anyway...) but this is just WRONG. The poor sow not being able to MOVE, just a milking machine. She is a living creature, I don't care what type of living creature she is, she is still ALIVE people. You try living like that. Then there is the tiger just kept in an empty room for the sake of people to get a picture of piglets on her. Poor poor animals.
I saw a whole show on this; they're actually doing a lot of good by trying to bring back tiger numbers and minimize inbreeding (even though tigers can actually handle a lot of inbreeding before defects start to show up). I can't remember how this started, but I think it's because a mother either abandoned her cubs or was so clueless about raising them that they used one of those piggles as a surrogate and realized they'd created inter-species magic.
As a note, this happens loads in the US with dogs acting as surrogates. The Houston Zoo has two big white dogs kept in the exhibit with their cheetahs at all times - they were raised together and someone decided, hell, let's just not separate them at all!
Same thing happens when dogs are moms - it calms down what they're raising, something that's important when you realize if you took an animal from the wild with that mentality and stuck it in a zoo it'd probably have daily breakdowns.
There is a difference between allowing a mother of one species to suckle some helpless babies of another species, temporarily, in a well regulated zoo in the West, waiting for professional animal keepers to find a more suitable formula... and an exhibition, as done here... in Thailand, China, Vietnam, etc. where different animal babies are being suckled for humans to gawk at, take photos, & make general nuisance of themselves. if you would read the caption there's a practical reason why they do this, by drinking the pigs milk it makes the tigers more suitable for breeding and being in captivity, i'd rather have them drinking pigs milk than becoming extict.

The sow is in a farrowing crate to prevent her from lying down on her young. The crate is used in commercial meat pig production. She goes out to feed and for routine body functions.
In an open pen or field a sow can accidently kill as much as half her litter by lying down on them.

Sows do accidently crush (kill) their young in an open pen. that is why pig farms go to great expense to put them in these stalls for the12 days that the sow is nursing her litter. Afterwards, the pigs go to a nursery. The sow goes back out to the general population of sows to be bred, where she will spend her gestation time. Then back into the crate for 12 days.

Its not bad and they're not swapping mothers. They just have different nursing moms. Its like that in other parts of the world too. Sometimes a mother doesn't want to nurse her own child and hires a recently preg. woman to nurse her child. Its quite common. The cubs/baby still spends time with they're real parents but feeds off another source. And this is done to keep the zoo keepers safer and the tigers tamer in the zoo. Its not like they're gonna be released.

We do this all the time, everyone is acting like humans are diabolic and are no where near the kindness of nature. Thats why there is animal treatment centers and rehabilitation sites for animals, we even have veterinarians. Besides, we do even more than nature intends, there are even mothers in aboriginal tribes of South America and Africa who breast feed piglets. The sow is in a farrowing crate to prevent her from lying down on her young. The crate is used in commercial meat pig production. She goes out to feed and for routine body functions.
In an open pen or field a sow can accidently kill as much as half her litter by lying down on them.
Dippy animal-rights activators protest that the crate is inhumane.

@taylorpaigespells -- HaHa, I just noticed that the pigs tails are docked (cut off). These are 'meat pigs' They are docked to prevent tail-biting in feeding pens where they are to be fattened. But I'm afraid that they will never leave the zoo. OinkOink

@Liozeris The crate is inhumane. The mistake of accidently killing her young could be solved by giving the mother enough room move to avoid laying on them.
Please tell me just how these sows are free to come and go for feeding and relieving herself? Can you not see the sturdy metal bars encasing her? Why would an intelligent being choose to come back to this cage to lie on the cold metal bars?

@itsbrutalyouidiot -- the crate is inhumane to you. Sows do accidently crush (kill) their young in an open pen. that is why pig farms go to great expense to put them in these stalls for the12 days that the sow is nursing her litter. Afterwards, the pigs go to a nursery. The sow goes back out to the general population of sows to be bred, where she will spend her gestation time. Then back into the crate for 12 days.
Do some anything to stop our brutal wars. Cheers & Happy NewYear.

Its not bad and they're not swapping mothers. They just have different nursing moms. Its like that in other parts of the world too. Sometimes a mother doesn't want to nurse her own child and hires a recently preg. woman to nurse her child. Its quite common. The cubs/baby still spends time with they're real parents but feeds off another source. And this is done to keep the zoo keepers safer and the tigers tamer in the zoo. Its not like they're gonna be released.

I know and these crazy hippy "it helps the animals get along" are ludicrous . If god wanted this to happen they would've been swapping but no us humans always have to experiment with nature. this is silly - a mothers babies should not be swapped with another mothers. how would u like it if someone swapped your baby with someone elses? it may be okay if the mother wasn't coping or died or something but swapping the babies around when they are perfectly happy with their real mothers is just stupid. :(

We do this all the time, everyone is acting like humans are diabolic and are no where near the kindness of nature. Thats why there is animal treatment centers and rehabilitation sites for animals, we even have veterinarians. Besides, we do even more than nature intends, there are even mothers in aboriginal tribes of South America and Africa who breast feed piglets. Some animals neglect other animals all the time just like SOME humans who neglect other animals even their own kind, Its NATURE!

Pigs aren't the dumbest animals on this earth - the mother pig was tied and made unable to move whilst she was made into a humans idea of a feeder,regardless of her feelings - now having tied her up they then feed her milk to tigers - look at her eyes - she knows its wrong - but guess chinese people don't see that - guess lots off people don't see that. Human beings - abusers and users - I resent the day we as freaks of nature started to destroy this earth.
