For me wether Global Warming is a man made problem or not is irrelavent, we know that we cannot continue to live on this planet in the way that we do. The real issue here is how can we learn to live WITH the planet in order to secure our existance as a species for the long term and these increasingly enviromentally focused times present a wonderful oppurtunity to build a better working model for humanity.
If we could give people real choices instead of consumer choice, then maybe we would begin to see some real changes. If we do not challenge the way we live (our outer securities, like our job) then what are we debating?

So are NASA's figures correct, or are the IPCC figures correct? Both are government funded organizations, both give different data.
NASA uses sattelite data, IPCC uses climate models, yet both have shown to give inaccurate results.
IPCC figures (which the whole Copenhagen climate circus is using, as are the rest of Europe) show no temperature increase since 1999 despite CO2 rising by 35% during the same period.
Both sattelite data and Ice core samples as well as global temperature points as well as atmospheric data are surrounding and on the entire planet report their data, and yes... 150 years of data as a whole, show that the Earth is indeed, warming up due to human activity.
No the ice core records show data that completely contradicts the theory of man made global warming, as they were the 1st study that showed temperature drives CO2, not the other way around.
As for 150 years of data, climate wise, it's nothing. If its human CO2 that is causing it, then the biggest rises in CO2 (post war economic boom from the 1940's) show temp dropping, even the last 10 years CO2 has risen 35% but temp has stayed the same.
As for your comment that 150 years of data "shows the planet is warming due to human activity", that is complete fiction, as the whole scientific community is still deadlocked as to whether it's 'man made' or not. the doubts grow on a daily basis.
The IPCC has some 2500 individuals spouting it's propaganda, yet less than 500 of those are actual climate scientists.

I don't remember the scientific papers that discuss the evidence regarding equal rights. Don't try to compare scientific matters with civil matters. I do believe that scientists are generally more objective about their work than you are suggesting.

re: civil vs scientific matters. lets leave civics out of it then. most scientists in the early 20th century beleived in Eugenics. Many scientists in the 70's believed in global cooling. Most scientists in the 1500's didnt believe vitamin C could cure scurvy. So u c I dont need to talk civics to illustrate that "consensus" doesnt equal accuracy. Scientists make gross errors all the time. It is the method that stands and not necessarily the conclusions.
Sure, scientists make errors. Just like the errors that the minority of scientists made in the 70s about global cooling. And like the errors that were made in the theory of solar forcing. But, in time, after much consideration and investigation, the truth is slowly revealed. Every alternative theory that has been thrown at the warming trend has failed to stand, except CO2.I have yet to see any alternative theory that stands up to careful scientific scrutiny.
The stats the the models were based on came from people who firmly believed in AGW. Grants are given disproportionately to those that study CO2/AGW vs other potential causes. Natural carbon sources are balanced by natural carbon sinks. Those sinks cannot handle all of the extra CO2 put in the system by humans burning fossil fuels. CO2 levels were steady at ~280ppm for 10k+ years before jumping up to 385 since the industrial revolution. Coincidence? Lol.

Utter rubbish. The huge increase in human CO2 during the post war economic boom saw temperatures fall for around 30 years, which is a complete contradiction of the IPCC's climate models.
The same climate models also cannot explain why, since 1999 there has been no warming whatsoever, despite CO2 rising by 35% during the same 10 year period.

So are NASA's figures correct, or are the IPCC figures correct? Both are government funded organizations, both give different data.
NASA uses sattelite data, IPCC uses climate models, yet both have shown to give inaccurate results.
IPCC figures (which the whole Copenhagen climate circus is using, as are the rest of Europe) show no temperature increase since 1999 despite CO2 rising by 35% during the same period.

No the ice core records show data that completely contradicts the theory of man made global warming, as they were the 1st study that showed temperature drives CO2, not the other way around.
As for 150 years of data, climate wise, it's nothing. If its human CO2 that is causing it, then the biggest rises in CO2 (post war economic boom from the 1940's) show temp dropping, even the last 10 years CO2 has risen 35% but temp has stayed the same.

1970-2000 IS NOT the period with the most warming, as up until the end of the 70's temperatures were falling.

That being said, I looked it up and you're not completely wrong - pre-1940 had most warming according to some sources.
But I found this on NASA's site, GISS surface temperature analysis for 2005:
Global warming is now 0.6°C in the past three decades and 0.8°C in the past century. It is no longer correct to say that "most global warming occurred before 1940".
Either way, atmospheric CO2 started rising long before 1940.

C02 is only about .04% of our atmosphere...that is 4 one-hundredths of one percent. Water vapor accounts for 95% of greenhouse gasses. Why don't you ever hear anything about water vapor from these global warming alarmists?

I'm sorry, but I have to say what I think: THIS IS TOTAL JUNK! Look who is sitting there: maybe one expert, a presenter that belongs in a talk show at afternoon and some others with no idea of real facts or environmental sciences. And what are they doing? Showing people who recorded a video in rainy conditions or videos with kids to gain the audience's sympathy. How can we ask the 3rd world to cut on emisssion when us westerners let out 5-20 times as much co2 as they do per inhabitant.
I dunt think we can demand them to lower theirs before we reach their low lvl first.
We should use the money makeing green energy cheaper.

I'm all in favour of recycling & cleaner energy. the Copenhagen treaty has a bigger agenda, i.e making billions upon billions in tax revenue at our expense. Even as far as deciding how many children you can have. I live in Canada & the birth rate is decreasing. This treaty is more about creating a one world governance & bank. So based on that notion of majority rules then women should still not be permitted to vote and slavery shouldve never ended. Science isnt about "majority rule". Its about evidence and unfortunately the bulk of the proof for man made carbon based climate change isn't as air tight as some would have it. I say a real panel consisting of Lord Monckton (google his name) and Professor Lindzen from MIT and David Bellamy. I'll pit those 3 against 33 believers anyday

I don't remember the scientific papers that discuss the evidence regarding equal rights. Don't try to compare scientific matters with civil matters. I do believe that scientists are generally more objective about their work than you are suggesting.
I would like to see a debate like that too. Lindzen and Monckton would get shredded. Don't know much about Bellamy, but I doubt he can add anything new to the debate that hasn't already been disproven.

re: civil vs scientific matters. lets leave civics out of it then. most scientists in the early 20th century beleived in Eugenics. Many scientists in the 70's believed in global cooling. Most scientists in the 1500's didnt believe vitamin C could cure scurvy. So u c I dont need to talk civics to illustrate that "consensus" doesnt equal accuracy. Scientists make gross errors all the time. It is the method that stands and not necessarily the conclusions.

Sure, scientists make errors. Just like the errors that the minority of scientists made in the 70s about global cooling. And like the errors that were made in the theory of solar forcing. But, in time, after much consideration and investigation, the truth is slowly revealed. Every alternative theory that has been thrown at the warming trend has failed to stand, except CO2.I have yet to see any alternative theory that stands up to careful scientific scrutiny.

The stats the the models were based on came from people who firmly believed in AGW. Grants are given disproportionately to those that study CO2/AGW vs other potential causes. Scientists dont want to be labled "deniers" or be ostracized from their peers. Is it that nothing stands up to the AGW theory because...no one is willing to "stand up" to the community of believers for fear of being branded a heretic?

The rallying cry wouldve been that global warming would cause the loss of mammoths, yak, and other species and they wouldve been mostly correct BUT would you trade the last 10,000 yrs of warming for the ice age?
