  • Hope this band makes it in Europe. Fantastic collective.

  • This song reminds me of Down by the Seaside by Zeppelin. Both are top notch!

  • I like the fact that Sun Studios 'gives' these recordings to talentful artists, even though Elvis and Johnny Cash were mainstream artists when they recorded there. They could have chosen to stuff in Bruno Mars or James Morrison too, but they didn't.

  • Very nice song, this dude can sing! On top of that i'm Canadian ;) lol

  • I still love this band man

  • "Blue Christmas" - John Tyler keeps the memory of Sun Studio's Elvis alive with this Christmas Song at jtyler5 - check it out and comment

  • this song makes want to go ballroom dancing.

  • Terribly underrated vocalist.

    Sounds amazing.

  • Очень хорошо спели!

  • I've heard this in a porn video

  • These guys are epic! It saddens me that such great music is kept limited to PBS.

  • Eli Manning sings???

  • Always been a great song. The great great thing is when a team of artists assemble into a studio and there is this glow.. this inspiration.. this rube of of each other that makes for a great session. And that's when sometimes the magic is captured forever. Very nice indeed. Wayne

  • a modern day classic anyone?

  • never get bored of this song

  • Amazing! great song

  • AMAZING BAND!!!!!

  • the walkmen make me want to start taking whiskey seriously and dress smartly. I mean that in the best way possible.

  • i always end up here when i am drunk

  • @smmcla lol.... me too

  • @smmcla I might have already replied to this, or I might have been to drunk. But this might be my favorite comment on YouTube.

please, those who havent yet, give 'em a listen :)

  • @27NastyNas Marry me

  • first saw these guys on Letterman last night (I think it was a rerun) and wow, can't believe I never gave them a listen before. I immediately fell in love with this guy's voice (I know that sounds kinda gay but I don't care)

  • gunn has a song called canadian girl. this song is good but i like hers much better. more passionate story behind it.

  • yum yum,

  • i'm a canadian girl!! wooo!

the walkmen are simply brilliant! they deserve more recognition.

  • what an awsome soooong :) love it

why is this song called Canadian Girl. does anyone know?

  • I think me and my mate probably made up half of the 60,000 views :)

  • The Walkmen iin Lisbon...November...at Coliseu. A simply beautiful day. Restores faith and a kind of romantic optimism about things.

    Peace.

  • my absolute favorite from you & me

  • Yup a great tune.

  • Love that tune!!

  • His voice is like a mix of bob dylan with rod stewart ... unbelievably beautiful! pure class!!

  • Todo lo que tocan, lo convierten en oro... esperamos la llegada de The walkmen a la ciudad de México... no fue sificiente su llegada en el estival en el Estadio Azteca

  • Just saw them last week in Lisboa (Portugal). So amazing, that i keep coming back for more. One of the best albums of the year (my top 3), and unbelievable live.

  • The best band of the century

  • how have i never heard this band until recently!! i could listen to this guy sing for the rest of my life. Just bought the lisbon album and cant wait to hear it.

  • ive listened to their Lisbon album 5 times since i got it, last week. my new favorite album i think!

  • Fuck… that dude can seriously sing!

  • i can't find any of their stuff in stores, anyone know if i can get 'em on vinyl? yeah vinyl.

  • Go to a record shop in town, shouldn't be a problem. Not the big box stores- they play dead music. I've got Lisbon when it came out. My favorite this year. God I love this music!

  • Brilliant!!!!!

  • @yvanwilt

I don't think these guys really have anything in common with Weezer. Especially since The Walkmen have been consistently improving whereas Weezer had two great albums in the 90's and nothing but crap since.

  • Cool!

  • Trop bon cette version!!!

  • Wow. This is amazingly good stuff.

  • This song is just goddamn beautiful!

  • their style is ssadly too outdated to ever be truly popular... that doesnt mean however that they are not simply sublime.

  • I thought Red Moon was my favorite song from the album and then I gave this one a proper listen. Now I have two favorites.

  • jesus I've got one of their albums, thought they were from the UK

  • HE is so on about being light, even while remaining serious and pertinent, even melodramatic but not letting the sound sink in under the thematic wight of the music; something that Walkmen just keep getting better at and National move farther away from by becoming brooding, and frankly a bit boring. I have known Walkman's music for almost a decade now but I am just beginning to appreciate how wonderfully and determined they've stuck to their course. What a pleasure.

  • This is the first time im hearing these guys and I am stunned, what a breath of fresh air.

  • music begins at 0:45

  • i do miss you when your gone. but your happy music still carries on!!

  • For me, they're the only band where I can't pick my favourite from their four albums. They all need time and patience to unfurl, but when it clicks, you won't be forgetting them anytime soon.

  • the first second i heard them, i fell in love.

  • beautiful song from a fairly unappreciated album.

  • yeah i've been such a big fan since their first album

im glad that they are starting to get recognized a lot more now :))

i have tried getting alot of people into them. this probably one of my favorites songs

  • man alive

  • This is beautiful.

  • i keep coming back to this video!! i have said and will say it again... this should have a million views. his voice is effin smooth in this, cant wait for there new album!

  • Just one of the best bands. Sensational.

  • you are the morning.....I am the night...words to live by

  • new cd in 2010 :)

  • I love this song, this band, and the way they sound with horns...

  • much love

  • mmm really nice sound ))

  • for times it sounds a bit like the coral, but it has a 60's oldies vibes to it .. which is clearly derived from the roy orbison influence combined with bluesy guitars..

    ME LIKE!

  • And only I I-I-I i LOVE IT. You're much too kind Walkmen

  • This guy reminds me of Harry Nilsson.

  • if you listen to the pussy cats album by them, they do harry nilsson covers

  • Wish this music would last all night. love it.

  • My new favorite band! Behind Spoon of course.

  • dude we're like a perfect match

  • Well said!

  • spoon! stfu

  • Stfu? You have something against Spoon?

  • lol, no. I was just messing with you. I think it's weird to say I like x but not as much as y "of course," as if y is naturally or obviously better than x.

  • Lol, I see what you mean. I don't know why I say that, but I do it all the time. It's almost like I'm talking to and reasuring myself.

  • Wow, the best track by the best band around. Love it, love it, love it.

  • This is real music!!!!

  • should have a million views.

  • such a good song and underrated band. they have more songs than "The Rat", you know...

  • @ripelivejam ...AMEN!!!

  • @ripelivejam whats ur fav song

  • @trevfrank pretty hard to pick a favorite. a few are "Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me Is Gone," "Rue the Day," "In the New Year," "Canadian Girl," "138th Street," "Bows + Arrows," "Lisbon." i do love "The Rat", but it's sad to see it overshadow all the other great music they've done.

  • @ripelivejam

I love The Walkmen, and I've never heard The Rat :)

  • @Evskin Listen to all their albums, i have them all and i listen to them all the time

  • my favorite song off the last album. amazing to see them performing at sun!

  • paul is the only nice guy in the band, the rest of em' are a bunch of punk bastards, the singer is a moron

  • his voice is oldenschool!

  • Can't get enough of this band these days ... but they aren't Canadian are they? Why the canadian influences throughout you & me though?

  • because canada is awesome :)

  • Wow, this is gooood!

  • really good

  • Extremely good.

  • the walkmen is amazing

the singer voice kinda sounds like dylan a bit

  • I agree, Cbob222. I saw them in May 2004. They opened for the strokes and blew them out of the water. The first song I heard from them was the rat and I gotta admit I hated it..........at first. But then I saw them on Last Call with Carson Daly a couple weeks before the show and they played Thinking of a Dream I Had and the song gave me chills. Been a big fan of them since.

  • It's not going to let me post the website name, but their official site does link you to a shop with t-shirts available.

  • Cool band. I wish they had an official website where you could buy t-shirts.

  • Canada is a boring,lame,crappy country

  • "D1sMOrph1c" must not smoke knots from the heavens......stoned and happy. Canada is boring "guy". Hint : Smoke some pot and shut the fuck up.

  • uhhhh i do

  • These guys are supposedly opening for Kings of Leon tomorrow night in Calgary, they sound decent, hopefully they will put on a good show.

  • I love this band, I hope they never sell out. They are perfect the way they are.

  • I second this motion.

  • christ almight . . . i just randomly stumbled upon this . . . incredible.

  • Most underrated band on the planet in my opinion.

  • listening and listening and still amazed

  • such an awesome voice. such an awesome band.

  • Best Performance in a long time.

  • Drummer reminds me of Ringo Star

  • keith moon!

  • I Like This Song I Just Put It On My Facebook For The World To See Cheers. Tony Quinn In The United Kingdom.

  • huge and dramatic

  • i like the maraca as a drumstick

  • Just an addendum to my previous post: thankfully I do not have to attend a Kings of Leon show to see The Walkmen that night. That would be embarrassing.

  • These guys definitely are not the greatest band ever, as a great number of YouTube fanboys claim, but they have a certain charm, puncuated by a vintage sound, that is enough to hook a sucker like me. I'm looking forward to seeing them here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky Fried (or grilled!) Poultry. Curiously, their website says Cincinnati, OH, but the Mad Hatter is actually on the south side of the Ohio.

  • @Spizike237 I guess your mistaken. "they" say that it's the favorit band and not the "greatest band" in history.

  • fantastic. when the song swells up at the end, it's just beautiful really.

  • this is basically perfect. one of my favourite bands ever

  • I wouldn't say The Walkmen were the best group in the world but they are in the top one.

  • Fantastic! Whata voice!!!!
