@14DENISS88 The "Templars" that exist today are not Templars at all. The Knights Templar were a Roman Catholic Military monastic order that followed the Rule of St. Benedict and had as their mission the defense of innocents - especially pilgrims and travelers in the Holy Land. The Order also created the first true banking system in Europe as they would safeguard the valuables of lords and knights who would go on crusade.

@stridertex This attracted the greed of King Phillip "the Fair" of France and he exerted immense pressure on the then French-born Pope Clement V and had the Order slandered with trumped up charges of all kinds of ridiculous allegations - the "confessions" of which were only procured by terrible and prolonged torture of French Templars.  The Order was conveniently found guilty, dissolved, and their property confiscated by the French crown.

@stridertex The Church and the Papacy has since renounced its charges against the Templars and has officially declared their trial to have been false and unjust. The "Templars" that exist now are actually anti-Catholic freemasons who are attracted to the laughable mystique of the so-called "Templar legend" and want nothing to do with what the Order was really about.

@14DENISS88 That's just a whole lot of conspiracy theories. I suggest you read the book: The Templars: History and Myth. In 2006 a misplaced document was discovered in the Vatican archives signed by Pope Clement stating that the Templar were not heretics and only suggested a reform. It was the French that screwed the Templars for good.

In Portugal and Spain for example, Templars were disbanded and reformed into the Order of Montessa in Spain and Order of Christ in Portugal.
