  • what the watch did i just fuck

  • Nice intro but it's 720p not 4K

  • @MalismDK 4k (4KB) is the size of the executable. (is this question becoming a running gag?)

  • @MalismDK muahaha..

  • @dracoony1978sg I think there are a lot of people not understanding that data use space in memory, and on the HD. And the point with 4k demos are to show what the programmers are capable to make with only 4kb of data.

    Same as 64kb demos.

  • @MalismDK hmm. troll? 720p = vertical res. 4k = size of the .exe

  • it isnt 4k, its 720 pixel

  • @belgiumboy3

4k (4KB) is the size of the executable.

  • Really nice

  • とっても、きれい。so nice kakkoii! momo

  • Mn really nice effects and music. I really just don't understand how this is possible in 4K.. I'm not a programmer but a humble musician. Is there a place to read about technical background? Just out of interest, PM me if you like.

  • procedural magic

  • All of the music in this video is stored as text, usually as a MIDI loop that plays all the time without almost changing. Thus a 3 minute song, occupies less than 2 or 3 lines of code.

  • Thanx for the reply, and how do they store they store the needed samples for the midi lines? Or do they use something else?

  • Well they dont store samples. The midi files are stored as code and then they are converted to midi sound on the fly. I don't know the exact method that is done, I develop in c++, java and other languages but of course I have never looked into this kind of development (Although I find it really interesting)

But for a developer like me, who codes for money, size is not something i care too much about, taking into account the storage space todays computers have...

  • @8bitfanaat No samples are used. Instead they make miniaturized software synths that generate the sounds they want. Oftentimes the midi notes are also used to control the animations of the models and/or lighting, special effects etc. That way for the storage "cost" of the music track they also get animations, special effects, lighting and/or other things for "free" when trying to stay under the given size limitation for the demo.

  • Ah thanx for the info....really amazing what they are doing...

  • Ok, so they do have DirectX to load models, render stuff, apply effects etc? Doesn't that make oldskool demo's a LITTLE bit more impressive?

  • @elrapido80 it's impressive nonetheless. Consider that one of these youtube comments is roughly half a K. So use whatever shaders or whatever you want, but cram it into 8 youtube comments. WTF!?!?

  • well, i´m your opinion. I like the modern stuff, but according to todays graphic cards and directxstuff the old demos are a lot more impressive! amiga rulez ;)

  • its 4k, dont wanna know how long it takes to make.

  • breakingpoints are in wwe

  • loonies - the best from amiga age ... still the best!!

  • realtime raytracing ftw

  • I must say, I am quite astonished by this claim.

Is this fact, or a clever ruse?

  • its really written in 4K. see werkkzeug, kkapture, Directx Transform Engine, Assembler...

  • impressive

  • 4k? no way its 4k

  • It teakes much less time to download the native version :D

  • nice stuff, but it is missing the drive.

    does catch me..

  • Amazing <3

  • 3> it!

for me the bp winner, nice rubber tunnel and reflections :)
