  • "Booker-T... Bluebird."

I lost it straight away. XD

  • The expressions he makes when he finishes a drawing are priceless! Makes me think of Puddin Pops every time!! :p

  • This is circa late 1970's/early 1980's before he had his second and wildly popular 'Cosby Show'. I used to watch this on the evil liberal PBS when I was a kid. I still want that marker!!

  • where's Theo????????????

  • hahaha booker t is a violent wrestler, not a bluebird you silly bastard!

  • It still makes me laugh when he does his smiles after he draws. I still want that marker!!!

  • Was this an actual book you could follow along with?

  • Colonial-style birdhouse, lol XD

I remember watching this when I was very young. All I remembered was his big afro, and that funny pen. I'm glad I could find this on YouTube ^_^

  • YOOO that Pin was awesome!!!!!! They need to sell that retro style. I'd pay 40 bucks for it easy.

  • I never got this show. Where the hell were you supposed to buy these crappy picture page books? I always felt left out watching this.

  • I also remember watching this during Captain Kangaroo commercial breaks.

I looovvve that I can watch clips from both these show here.

Good, wholesome television. I miss it so...

  • @1:10 *school girl scream* HE SAID THE LINE!!... you see

  • I loved this show

  • 3:21 is the best goddamn expression in the history of the world.

  • @drkra37 I think his "class" went to sleep for a second before that lol

  • If you grew up in the 80's on early Nickelodeon.....that pen was the shit.

  • @generalfuckpants Man this goes back to the late 70s for me watching this on Captain Kangaroo

  • Am I the only one that thinks Wellington looks like a penis?

  • @TaciLunaRain Yes you are, now please leave 2011 trash out of this wonderful era of TV.

  • @littlebit19801 awwwww.....i offended someone....i sowwy!

  • bill looks so cut wen he smiles!love his smile.he is so childlike.

  • i used to want that pen so badly.

  • wow what happened to him?

  • Lol, he looks so bored.

  • I used to watch this when I was a kid in the 70's

  • I begged my mom for years to get me a pen like that.

  • Bill Cosby's Picture Pages. You can't be a kid without that. Yes,that has to be a rerun filmed before The Cosby Show. Cosby,or anyone else for that matter, could not handle such a large workload.

  • Oh my God I used to freak out when this came on Nickelodeon!

  • The marker sounded a lot cooler when I was 4 yrs old.

  • @danrichards23 exactly!..but not now though lol

  • I remembered this show the other day out of the blue and was looking for it. I wanted that marker.

  • Wllington is a large bit phallic.

  • I love Bill Cosby!! Greatest comedian ever!

  • ahhhh the takes me back!

  • I forgot about the blippity-bloop noises the pen makes. LOL Mark Mothersbaugh (of Devo fame) does a drawing segment on Yo Gabba Gabba, and his pen makes noises like that, too. I didn't realize it was an homage to this!

  • Willington the wiggly worm looks like a penis....

  • That worm looks like a penis....

  • OMG! I loved the picture pages. I remember I wouldn't start my picture pages until I saw good ole Bill on TV! I loved Mortimer Ichabod!!

  • 3:23 - Bill's "High as fuck and I don't care" face.

  • I remember this as a kid too. My mom ordered the books and the marker as well for me. :)

  • @Jguy27 lucky bastard !!

  • I used to want that pen so bad when I was a kid, because I thought it made those sounds.

  • @c135977w Me too :)

  • @c135977w I had it and it actually made those sounds. It has a pressure sensitive tip that made the sound when it was pushed down on paper from using it to write.

  • It did! I bought these pens for my 5 children when the series was first aired, and the pen made the same sounds when they used it. Irritating, but worth the giggles!

  • @c135977w I used to get SO mad because my pens/markers/pencils didn't make that sound! Haha. Makes me laugh reading that you thought along the same lines. HAHA

  • I was watching this in the late 70's

  • wellington the wiggly penis is what he looks like. n i used to watch this show. when i was 3 or 4. mortimor was the shit.

  • 2:00 Mortimer Ichabod Marker saves the day by correcting Bill Cosby and starting him at the beginning of the worm drawing instead of the number 1.

  • 2:46 i think even Bill Cosby is wondering "Why the fuck is there a missing baseboard in this house!?

  • If u think you're old revisiting & watching this, just think how old Bill Cosby feels!

  • What an easy acting job!

  • So did anyone else but me think that Mortimer marker actually made those sounds? Also, I had no idea he was using a dry erase clear board. He doesn't even WRITE ON THE PAPER!!!!! He's writing on top of glass or plexy glass. WOW!!!!

  • OMG I remember this from when I was a kid. I even talked my parents into ordering a few of the books and marker so I could work the pages with Bill...OMG......watching this again makes me feel SOOOO OLDDDD. Thumbs up if you remember this show from your childhood!!

  • Mortimer Ichabod Marker Was Classic. I Wanted One As A Kid

  • wow, cool

  • @pat4luigi13 B-O-O-K-E-R T. Bluebird

  • they cud afford seperate houses now in the current market we're in

  • After going over these older kids shows I feel so sad because this was the time I was growing up...pre 10 y/o, also my mom who dies recently used to sit by me and give me lunch.

I also analyze some of these, such as this one, and maybe I am crazy but see how this co-habitation of the worm and bird as a metafor for two gay guys living together...jeeze I am so fucked up. Must have been caused by my step father touching me when I was 11. lol

  • @kpreston69 It could also be a metaphor for two groups that don't normally get along, like racial groups or religious groups, co-existing.

  • How coked up was Bill Cosby when he did these? lol

  • I grew up watching this originally on Captain Kangaroo... I'm glad Nick re ran these in the 90s , was a great segment...

  • Bill Cosby = Awesome

  • Yeah I used to love that pen too! (1:57) " And what do we have? Lets see.....dododododo dododo dodo dododo"

  • OMG ithas been for ever !

  • you say you got beef but there's worms in your wellington.

  • Oh god this makes me sick. My sister used to watch this every morning, and after this part was when the bus came for school, and I hated/dreaded school.

  • I remember this back when I was in kindergarten. I miss shows like this.

  • Best of Bill Cosby quotes: "You see."

  • 8 people apparently don't know how to have lots of fun with their crayons and their pencils.

  • I remember as a kid writing to the station and then getting my own workbook to use with the show. That was so awesome...way before the internet.

  • YAY picture pages!

  • If there's anybody who's opinionated...it's Mr. Cosby lol

  • I always wanted a pen that made those Simon says sounds

  • ha I remember this show, but i didnt know it was Bill Cosby.

  • I remember these segments on Captain Kangaroo when I was preschool age! I wanted a picture pages workbook but nobody knew where to get one. :/ But mostly I wanted that freakin musical marker. lol

  • Can you dig it, suckaaaaaaaaaa!

  • Oh my god! It's such a strange feeling to have something banished to the memory hole stir up in the back of your head....

  • I'm delighted to hear Willington and Booker T got along so well together. I wish more roommates were like Willington. No one wants to clean the basement.

  • Interspecies gay couple! Yay! :)

  • @jcbaritone LOL That worm and that bird are living in sin!! :D

  • He muffed that picture of the house up and pretended it was all good!

  • when i was a kid i HAD to have that pen!

  • Mother Creator

    ~~ Love You , thanks ~~

  • I totally remember this. It was part of Captain Kangaroo back in the 70s... nick re aired these in the 90s....

  • i dunno why i looked this up, becuz when i was a kid that cartoon bill cosby scared the fuck out of me lol

  • the rent is too damn high

  • @pibbby SO THIS is where Jimmy McMillan's platform came from way back in the day!

  • @pibbby Best Youtube comment EVER!

  • OMG I had totally forgotten about this show, but when I started watching it, I remembered all the words lol!

I wanted one of those pens sooo bad

  • @stupidflounders Did you get the Picture Pages activities in the mail growing up? Then we all tuned in on Captain Kangaroo to see the show.

  • @stupidflounders I think everyone LOVED that pen! The sounds weren't real according to many. I remember this show when I was young, part of the first Nick generation. I am 32 years old. You?

  • @Tigerman1138 I bought one off ebay. it makes noise. but not as good as the noise on the show. nice novelty though.

  • What does J-5 Mean?

  • @Fartingbellybutton Either volume J page 5, or Johnny 5 from Short Circuit.

  • I'm 31 and remember this when I was a kid. I want to go back.

  • this is awesome! I was born in May of '92, so I never got to see this. I wish I did!

  • I've been trying to remember the words to the theme song for many years now! Thanks to AilurophilicArtist for posting this :)

  • My markers did make noises. When I was a kid I made them. Later on I got older and went to school to make art and guess what my sharpie markers and dry erase started making sqeaky noises at times.

  • Wow, until now I could never remember the name of the show with cosby's musical marker. I must say it is rather disappointing that the marker really doesnt make any noise, but oh well lol

  • I finally found happiness :3

  • better get a new marker Bill , it looks like that one is running out of ink.....

  • OMSBJ... DO YALL REMEMBER THIS????????

  • I totally remember this from my childhood.

  • 3:22 OHSHIT HE DID NOT JUST PUT THAT LINE IN THERE!! :D

  • 2:44 - Bill's like, "WTF? This doesn't look like it's finished...but I'm getting paid well-enough that I don't care."

  • @ChrisKarr Yeah dude - public TV pays SO well.

  • lol at 3:22

  • Who knew that after Picture Pages Booker T would go on to become the WCW Champion!

  • @Coffeextreme please look up booker t washington on wiki

  • lol @ 2:59

  • never got that damn marker... always wondered if it made noise. of course it didn't, cause that would have just been way too fuckin' awesome!

  • this baph nigga so corny ole picture pages faze azz

  • Judging by Bill's indignant throat-clearing, I would assume that Wellington and Booker were more than just 'roommates'...

  • i remember watchin this when i was a kid, loved it

  • why does Wellington look like a penis?

  • LOL, rents are too high

  • Yeah the Worm cleans the basement eatin' the bird shit getting fat, and the restaurant was the Birds idea, because the main course will be the Fat Worm! In house food!

  • Wellington? Booker T? COLONIAL STYLE BIRDHOUSE??? L O L!!! Was this written beforehand or was this all made up on the spot? I love how the first 60 seconds has NOTHING to do with the connect-the-dots segment. Cos wus da man.

  • That worm SERIOUSLY looks like a penis.

  • That worm looks like a penis.

  • @InYourFaceNewYorker

So it wasn't just me, lol.

  • this makes me feel mad old son

  • I loved this i tell my kids about it and they look at my like i'm crazy.... i told them i would show them when i find it, thank god 4 google lol

  • i always wanted that lil pen...good thang mom said no. after reading other comments i guess it didnt make the noise for real. bummer! good show though. i luv bill cosby!!

  • @msgam76 I remember watching this, and now realize that I saw it when I used to watch Pinwheel...but yeah, I wanted the pen because it made those noises too. Never did have it or any of the picture pages.

  • I never had the pen, so I always made the noises with my mouth...on any connect the dot picture....come to think of it, I still do to this day...thanks Bill Cosby...=^^=

  • okay so i just realized the one dude totally took this IDEA and is using on Yo Gabba Gabba! so mad but i love this show!!!

  • This was not in the 90's. It was the 80's you faggot

  • hectic worm

  • Your dating is incorrect.

From the Wiki:"Picture Pages" started on a local Pittsburgh children's show in 1974 with the "Picture Pages" puzzle booklets given away at a supermarket chain. It debuted as a national segment of the Captain Kangaroo show in 1978, in which Captain Kangaroo would do the lessons on his "magic drawing board". Later, the segments were taken over by Bill Cosby and the lessons were used with his marker named "Mortimer Ichabod Marker".

  • Bill Cosby= a DOUCHE bag in my humble opinion. I had thee greatest satisfaction when Sharon Osbourne publically replied to this arrogant hypocrite..how is your Chicogo Disco Failure working out for you? Are you paying your local politicians off?

  • @csc68 What are you talking about?

  • OMG FREAKEN GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look what I found, Mr Hypocrite himself....Bill Cosby...he is thee ultimate PHONEY and douche bag ever!!

  • this is a great show to watched stoned

  • I never saw this show as a kid, but I know I totally would have LOVED IT. He has the best names for his characters and the best stories about them. :D

  • I think you mean 1981 or 1982. Cosby was older than that in '91-'92.

  • I was so sad because I never had the picture page he talked about

  • Booker T? Is this where the wrestler got his name?

  • @callmemarc Uh, right, because the hugely popular 60s/70s group Booker T & The MG's never existed. :)

  • @pyenapple

You know that the band took its name from someone else named Booker T, right?

  • I like how he starts out with a lecture about affordable housing

  • Cosby: "I can't believe I'm doing this. I could have my own show where I treat children like retarded people, you see..."

  • "Beeple bleepity blop blap bleebie" are the noises I made when I would draw at school and pretend I had the magic picture pages pen. That's probably why students used to beat me mercilessly and janitors would rape me in my buttmouth.

  • remember this

  • Wellington looks like a penis.

  • Shucks...on Picture Pages, Bill Cosby had a SmartBoard before they even existed. Even thoug I was too old to watch it already...I LOVED Picture Pages.

  • For you Edith...=0)

  • Adolf says: stay within the confines of the lines! Must not express one's own creativity! We can brainwash the masses by such shows!

    lol

  • Oh! I can talk now, great.

  • sorry try 1981 0r 1982.

  • omg, man i love that song.

  • I just love the epic faces that bill makes after he discovers one of the pictures he put together! oh the many charms of picture pages! I swear I turned 5 years old again watching this! super awesome!

  • I remember this from REALY early in my life, And I was born 84. It was lost in the catacombs of my mind, then I saw this and I was all "OH OH AND THE PEN BEEPS!" and it did. And it was good.

  • Ahh omg he looks so young here. Poor bill he looks so old now. But he looks so old and cute though. My teacher just showed me this vidoe in homebase today. and we though it was so corny. but I kinda liked it.

  • I LOVED this show when I was a kid; it was mesmerizing. Used to watch it every afternoon on Nickelodeon. Bill Cosby's the man.

  • 3:21 Marvelous.

  • I've tried to describe this show to my mom for years & she kept saying I was thinking of Fat Albert. I thought I was hallucinating about a show where Bill Cosby drew things. This just made my day.

  • This was the early '80s not 1991. I remember watching this with my son when he was really little, and hew as born in 1979.

  • I saved my allowance for months to buy Mortimore because he made music. I was so disappointed when it was just a marker. I wish they would bring something like this back for kids today.

  • bipidi bapidi

  • This was more like 1981 not 1991

  • @urbanflavorz it was 83!

  • Mortimore the pen is what I remember most about this show!

  • I used to like this when I was young. Maybe Nick should bring it back like ABC bringing back Power Rangers!!!

  • Is this Bill Cosby's only appearance with Glasses?

  • Are you talking about only appearance wearing glasses on Picture Pages?

Or are u talking throughout his career?

  • does anyone else think bill is so snarky here? is it just me.

PS. I would like a connect the dots on the peen picture pages too. j/s

  • I was so fucking pissed when I was a kid and found out that the marker didn't really make noises like it did in the show

  • That's so funny, i just discovered the same thing. That sucks!

  • @jeffhlewis I actually didn't know the pen/noise thing was a fake until I saw this clip just now....my childhood is ruined...I am so disillusioned with the world! And to think I used to beg my mom to get me one of those pens!

  • @jeffhlewis Me too. I remember the first time I used mine and the sound didn't happen, I thought it was broken and threw the fuckin pen and never used it again.

  • @jeffhlewis no sound. oh shit! i would've been crushed. im glad my parents didn't let me order one. but i wanted it soooo bad.

  • @jeffhlewis LOL for sure! Me TOO! My Mom bought me that shit, and I only wanted it because of the noise it made.

  • @jeffhlewis I loved that noise.

  • @jeffhlewis oh man- i am specifically here so i can see/hear the marker noise again! i LOVE the marker noise!
