I have the same prob as chiarurie: invalid rom. chiarurie and I don't know each oth, but we were still working unknowingly together (though thousands of miles away from each other) to try to fix this with no luck.
I don't know if I'm the only one who has had this happen, but whenever I import music in a custom sequence, if anything happens to make the music quiet down,(talking to someone, zooming up, reading a message, ect.) the music mutes unless it becomes quiet again. Is there a way to fix this, and is it something to do with the rom I'm using?
At me there is the message "Invalid ROM File! Refer to obj_import.txt for details on preparing your ROM." if I open the ROM. But there is no obj_import.txt! What do I wrong? (Sorry if it bad English!)
I can´t import a created map without clicking at the "don´t use textures from material file"
box
If i try importing without clickiing on it the black window opens and after 3 seconds a new window opens and it says that obj_importer doesn´t work....
Great, this works tons better than the last version. I love the new music importer too. Just one question, do you plan on getting rid of the traingle limitation anytime in the next few updates?
And skelux should feel good, he just got advertised :P.
is there a way to look up the scaling of a level? I haven't saved the settings of my old levels and since I want to disable the hardcoded camera settings in Course 5 it would be kinda handy if I don't have to position all the objects again.
@Lugmillord Hmm, I can't think of an easy way to automatically discover what scaling you used.
But you can change the hard-coded camera settings in the ROM settings menu without re-importing any level, just set that option in the desired level and save settings in that menu. If you are talking about the camera "presets", however, you can change that without re-importing the level by using a hex-editor, it's a simple one-byte change. Send me a PM if you want more info about it.
@frauber Well, in this case I guess I have to place the objects again.
because for some unknown reason course 5 stopped working a few days ago. It did work in the 2nd demo but when I showed the hack to a friend some days later, that course froze :/
@Lugmillord You know that when you re-import a level object lists aren't lost? Anyway, the most likely reason it freezes is because of some object /behavior you added. Open your Demo2 ROM,see what's different in the level in term of objects and try to make the more recent ROM match it.
Also, I'll add an option in the next version to export 0x24 object lists to an external file, this way you could for instance easily import them again in other ROMs or levels.
@frauber I didn't mean adding them again - just chaning their location because of a different scaling. And I seriously didn't change anything... but that's not the first weird problem I'm having xD
I am waiting for the super massive 'no-limits' obj importer that can import the level without the invisible wall bounds. When that is done....i have seen everything.
I haven't made a level in awhile. I had one of your older version and there were many problems like invisable walls and texture issues. Thanks for fixing them!
What's wrong with your desktop recorder..? Registered HyperCam here. Of course free. Back then I think there were some sync issues with video/audio..not sure how it is now. Best of luck.
@mistamontiel I was using HyperCam2 before, but it didn't work well in Windows 7. In this video I was using KRUT (a Java capture program), set the right Stereo Mix settings and still the sound was garbage.
@frauber That's odd..don't know what to say. I set Stereo Mix as well and that's it. What's odd, now that I'm here, I need to raise my volume in order for the sound to capture louder. On my last crap PC on XP I could have em on mute and record full blast. Ah well..
@legomadman I've recently noticed that, its not really a bug but a difference between "left-handed" and "right-handed" coordinate systems. Not sure if all 3D modellers use the same, but your complain is valid so I'll include an option to swap Z/X coordinates in order to make the model have the same orientation as in Google SketchUp.
@legomadman Actually, it's an essential issue, thanks for pointing it out. I did some research and it seems that SketchUp uses the left-hand coordinate system, while Blender, for instance, uses the right-hand system (the same used in N64). Since I have done limited work in SketchUp, I really never did notice it until very recently.
So, I'll include this feature really soon, otherwise model orientation will always look wong when importing from SketchUp. I'll do an update this weekend.
Frauber i really need a tutorial on importing sequences D: mine never plays.

snappleboy16 6 months ago
@snappleboy16 flip/ivert it in Google Sketchup by swapping axis.

@frauber Okay.

@frauber Noob question: how do I swap axises?
snappleboy16 6 months ago
@snappleboy16 Select the entire model (Control+A) and then use the Turn to Red axis function (or something like that)

@TOMISTHEMASTER
you need 3ds max... Click File > Export > .obj and Done
lukas00754 10 months ago
@lukas00754
No 3DS Max costs money: over 900$... and should be used for developing games not hacking games.
GoogleSketchUp is better theres an special Plugin to export .obj with triangles.
