here in Manitoba Canada where its always wet farmers are putting duals on the back of there jd sprayers coz it to heavy in the back wile the case sprayers are going right past them
actually those wheels do really good in mud untill it gets really deep... like this... theyre narrow so they fit in between rows but theyr large so they have comparable surface area to a large tractor tire if not more... but when your loaded with 1200 gallons of liquid sometimes its hard to not get stuck
yea getting stuck happens alot in farming.. not quite daily... but at least 7 to 8 times a year depending on the region and the size of the farm/ number of tractors and operators
i used to work for CPS and had a case 4920 sprayer and i got stuck in a ditch and had to have a loader pul me out. That was the only time i got stuck. i had her right to the frame a few times but u can lock in all 4 wheel motors to get u out. Spraying is a race because you can only spray crops at certain times and if you get behind you can lose a lot of buisness.
@crunch691 Patriots are animals. My dad sprayed with one when he was working for a custom guy. He had the case and one of the first JD sprayers and that Case would run circles around the JD everyday. Even pulled it out once
it'd be way cheaper because of the hassel and time loss it causes. time is the one thing that you can't get back or more of. when your farming its all a race against the clock
ive seen one terra-gator stuck worse than that but thats because the idiot driver tried to drive across our dried up lagoon... which was really a 10ft deep mud hole... but it looked like the driver sat there and span the tires till he was buried to the frame... i used to do that but now i know when im stuck so i give up... ive been buried a few to many times
and tahts the one drawback with the narrow sprayer tires...you see how the heavier 4WD stayes up, its because theres more floation because of bigger tires...but the skinny tire are better for not paking down the crops!!
I think a better solution than the 9420 pulling the sprayer out would have been to have an airplane spray the field. In the end I am sure it would have been much easier and much cheaper.
I agree to a point, but what about areas like mine, where there just are no planes to spray with, in Canada the insurance is so unbelievably ridiculous that no applicators would be able to compete.
hey caseihricefarmer... if your dumbass would notice in the video there is a ditch dug 30 feet from the damn sprayer! If you farmed muck in michigan you would understand... but you dont so dont tell us how to farm and shut the fuck up. and sorry everyone that the video says 9420 instead of 4920... I changed the video info but not the video cause i didnt feel like uploading a newer version.
dude one of our neighbors got a john deere 24 row ccs stuck once-it took us a whole day to get it out-we couldnt even get it out with a 4 wheel drive with 12 wheels-eventually we shoveled all of the grain out and shoveled some dirt out around the tires and then pulled it out with 2 150hp & up tractors- if that wouldnt have worked-we were about to call a backhoe the next morning
4920 sprayer not 9420

I love those big 9000-9020-9030 series, especially with Dual wheels, they are almost unbeatable.
So much power, just amazing. We only got a 2850, and a 6220.
Great vid,

air pressure wouldn't matter with those tires they sink into that mud like a hot knife in butter
MMAdeofstone 1 year ago
try reducing your air pressure to give it a wider footprint then air it back up later

i think part of the prob with those is the tires are so thin once they start spinning ur done for
woodman1241 3 years ago
that would really suck. Wonder when they are gonna make a self-propelled sprayer with tracks.
