the 96-98 cobras are much faster then people think i have a 96 mystic cobra and stock for stock its much faster then sti's,evo's srt-4's of any year sure some newer sti's and evo's get off the line but after 80 they run out of steam and i fly right on by it put down 285 hp to the ground stock @ a 15 to 20% loss that like 320 330 crank hp now my 03 cobra make the 96 feel like a honda lol....

@TheBopop I have played with the mustangs back in the day, I spent lots of money on my gt I went to a paxton super charger and a trickflow engine package, after I had a tight race with an srt-4 I decided it was time to change things up a bit and I went to a dsm. I found it much cheaper to build one of those in comparison to my mustang and I got more bang for my buck plus it didnt drink fuel like it was going out of style, check out my video "talon vs corvette."

@ADD8oi not trying to talk shit but your right cobra is not stupid fast but it is quick couple mods really open it up. Also is only weighs about 3300 pounds versus the eclipse which is at 3k lbs. Also the cobra is about a second faster in bot 0-60 and quarter mile. Still both are nice cars it's all based on prefernce which is why I went with a 98 cobra and also a 2003 cobra. Each car can be modded to make a shit ton of hp but it depends on what you want out of it.

@05yfz450rider My friend had a 1st gen Eagle talon which is supposed to be the strongest engine between 1st and 2nd gens. My stock v6 3.1 Cavalier could beat his very healthy non turbo talon with ease. So i gotta say a v8 would beat one by even more.

Cant remember but this cobra is either 96-98 year. For pplz that don't know they did not come with a SC from factory these early years, later on they did!!!! That's why u don't hear it. So it was not removed or whatever. Cobra was completely stock eclipse has a upgraded BOV and some other thing. Oh and the cobra had the driver + a passenger while the eclipse just had the driver!!!! u can hear me sayin "wats he doing?" when the eclipse "heats up his street tires". lol
the 2003-2004 cobras are the only cobras with a charger from the factory.if that cobra had a charger on it it would have been more like 50 school buses that 5-7 car lengths. good race..cobra was a lil faster.
cause if it still has its sc in it it, it is stock, every video of a cobra that has been built you can easily hear the sc on launch and over the exhuast

That was actually a 96-98 Cobra which came with the 4.6l (289ci) DOHC with 305 HP and 300 Lb torque. You can tell by the body and the tail lights what version it is. So both cars are about the same year.

Beating a front wheel drive DSM, there's something to be proud of!
And no, it's not heavy. Maybe 2900-3000lbs with the capability out of the box to make 400+whp on a stock motor. I don't think i'd complain too much.
My AWD weighs in at 3250 and it's still not all that heavy.

i used to have an eclipse. i drove it to 260,000 miles then sold it. nickel and diming me to death. but i loved the car, for that many miles it still pulled pretty hard but it was just stock

@05yfz450rider My friend had a 1st gen Eagle talon which is supposed to be the strongest engine between 1st and 2nd gens. My stock v6 3.1 Cavalier could beat his very healthy non turbo talon with ease. So i gotta say a v8 would beat one by even more.

Cant remember but this cobra is either 96-98 year. For pplz that don't know they did not come with a SC from factory these early years, later on they did!!!! That's why u don't hear it. So it was not removed or whatever. Cobra was completely stock eclipse has a upgraded BOV and some other thing. Oh and the cobra had the driver + a passenger while the eclipse just had the driver!!!! u can hear me sayin "wats he doing?" when the eclipse "heats up his street tires". lol

the 2003-2004 cobras are the only cobras with a charger from the factory.if that cobra had a charger on it it would have been more like 50 school buses that 5-7 car lengths. good race..cobra was a lil faster.

That was actually a 96-98 Cobra which came with the 4.6l (289ci) DOHC with 305 HP and 300 Lb torque. You can tell by the body and the tail lights what version it is. So both cars are about the same year.

That doesnt appear to be a newer cobra. It looks like a 95 body style which the cobra of that year had a 351 instead of a 302

well i guess when you do the work your self you save alot cuz i get a bad ass cam for round that port the heads my self bend up the exhaust myself and a couple other tricks i know from building race car motors and if u wanted to go farther for bout 3000 i could have a fully built 383 stroker to throw in there makin probally 600 hp n/a i know my shit bout the 302s and 351s it doesnt take much money at all to make them fast just a little know how
