@JohnTheFaun the d3100 is amazing. great price and it has a user guideline within the camera to tell you what settings to choose for specific shots. as far as video goes, it has both manual and auto focus.

@JohnTheFaun d3100 and the t2i are probably the best starter dslr's. full hd video and can capture some really good photos depending on the lens you get. if you're just getting into dslr photography / video, i recommend it!

@jordhon The only thing I don't like about the d3100 is the little noise it makes when on auto focus. It doesn't have an audio in either. How do you deal with that? I'll have to check out the t2i. I mgiht just save up for something beast like the 7d.
